Subject: Model curriculum in AI
Hello,
As AI teaching is developping in Swiss universities, I would like to
establish a kind of model curriculum for AI, both at undergraduate and graduate
level.
So I would greatly appreciate suggestions and advices from people involved
in AI teaching, and know what courses are actually taught in universities
having programs in AI.
Thank you.

Subject: Inductive Tools - RuleMaster or First Class
Hello,
Is there anyone who has been using the inductive tools RuleMaster or First
Class? I have some questions about these tools and I am looking for someone
who has had some experience with them and might be able to answer my
questions.
I am investigating the possibilities of induction and the differences between
the various tools available. I have posted a more general request for
information about inductive tools before and received some very helpful
information, but not from anyone who has used the tools mentioned above.

Subject: Semantical Databases.
Hello everyone!
I am investigating the possibilities of semantical and object-oriented
databases. After reading some introductory articles about them, it is still
not clear to me what the difference is between these two types of
databases and what is the state of art in this area. I have read about VBASE,
but I would like to know more about other commercially available databases of
this kind and their possibilities to support really large amounts of data.
I am also interested in statistical methods in inductive reasoning. I have
been trying to find some literature about this subject, but the most recent
article I could find had been published in 1984!!! That's quite old, isn't it.
I would be very grateful to everyone sending me some tips about books,
articles and existing tools or any remarks about these subjects. Any
information that can help me is welcome.
My address is : !mcvax!dnlunx!adriana
Thanks!

I am doing some research into D.H.D. Warren's planning program
WARPLAN and would like to know where I can get more information. If
you have any references on WARPLAN I would appreciate it if you could

Subject: Definition of Codesignation
Can someone tell me the original source of the terms "codesignation,"
"possible codesignation," and "necessary codesignation" (equiv. to
unification)?
My source is Chapman's AI Journal paper on "Planning Using Conjunctive
Goals," but I am interested in the original introduction of these terms
and the precise difference between "unification" and "possible codesignation."

I would like to know who sells the commercial machine learning tool
known as Today-ES. I understand it is based on Quinlan's C4 program.
An address and phone number of the company would be appreciated.

Subject: C-Linkable Expertshells
I'm designing a system that will have modules programmed in C and others
programmed using an expertshell. My aim is to fully integrate all modules and
therefore I need to be able to link the expertshell with the C code.
I know of two shells that offer this capability :
- CxPERT from Software Plus ( Generates C source )
- KES from Software Architecture & Engenering, Inc. ( Linked with C )
Does anyone know any other expertshells that can be integrated with C ?
Please e-mail to me and I'll summarize to the net.

Teknowledge's M.1 and COPERNICUS shells are fully integrable with C
(they're written in C, in fact.)

Another software package that you can use is CLIPS, C Language Integrated
Production System. It is a LISP-like language in appearance that primarily
uses forward chaining with the Rete algorithm. It allows you to embed an AI
application in a C program. It was developed under a contract for NASA and
is available for use through COSMIC, 404-542-3265 (for around $200 I believe).
It was not intended to be a commercial product, so it is not as user-
friendly as one would expect from a commercial product.
