Homemade Crispy Salted Chicken
Ingredients:
- 6 chicken drumsticks
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon ginger powder
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
For the Dipping Sauce:
- 2 star anises
- 1 tablespoon peppercorns
- 3 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon white pepper powder
Instructions:
- In a bowl, marinate the 6 chicken drumsticks with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of ginger powder, 4 tablespoons of cornstarch, and 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Allow the chicken to marinate for a few hours to enhance the flavors.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Once the chicken has marinated, place the drumsticks in the air fryer basket.
- Air-fry the chicken drumsticks at 380°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Afterward, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and continue to air fry for an additional 8 minutes, or until the chicken is crispy and fully cooked.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the dipping sauce. In a low-heat cooking pan, add 2 star anises, 1 tablespoon of peppercorns, 3 tablespoons of salt, and 1 tablespoon of white pepper. Stir the mixture for 10-15 minutes or until it becomes fragrant. This will be used as the savory dipping sauce for the chicken.
- Once the chicken is done cooking, remove it from the air fryer.
- Serve the Homemade Crispy Salted Chicken hot, with the aromatic dipping sauce on the side.
