Sodom and Gomorrha
Let's start with:
"Then the men rose up from there and looked down upon Sodom, and Abram went with them to escort them. And Jehovah said, "Do I cover up from Abram what I am about to do? Well, Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations of the earth will have to bless themselves through him. For I have known him, that he may command his sons and his house after him, so that they may keep to the way of Jehovah to practice righteousness and judgment; so that Jehovah may bring upon Abram what he has spoken about him."
Accordingly Jehovah said:
“The cry of complaint concerning Sodom and Gomorrah, yes, is loud, and their sin, yes, is very grievous. and if not, I will be able to know. Now the men departed from there and set out towards Sodom; but as for Jehovah, he was still ahead of Abraham".
Then Abraham came near and said
"You will really sweep away the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there are fifty righteous people in the middle of the city. Will you then sweep them away and not pardon the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who are within it? It's unthinkable, on your part that you act in this way to put to death the righteous with the wicked so that it must happen to the righteous as well as to the wicked! Will not the Judge of all the earth be righteous?."
Then Jehovah said
"If I find fifty righteous people in the midst of the city I will surely pardon the whole place because of them."
But Abraham continued to answer, saying
"Please, behold, I have undertaken to speak to Jehovah while I am dust and ashes. Suppose the correct fifty are five short. Will you ruin the whole city for the five?"
To this he said
"I will not ruin it if I find forty-five there. Will not the Judge of all the earth be righteous?."
But again he began to speak to him, saying
“Suppose there are forty of them there.”
He in turn said
"I won't do it because of the forty."
But he continued:
"I pray thee, let not Jehovah be inflamed with anger, and I will continue to speak: Suppose thirty of them are found there."
In turn he said
"I won't do it if I find thirty of them there."
But he continued,
"Please, behold, I have undertaken to speak to Jehovah: Suppose there were twenty of them there."
In turn he said,
"I will not ruin it for the sake of winds."
Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot sat at the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed with his face to the ground. And he said,
"I pray you, now, my lords, I pray you, to your servant's house and spend the night and have your feet washed. Then you must get up early and go on your journey."
To this they said
"No, but we will spend the night in the public square."
But he was very insistent with them, so much so that they came to him and entered his house. Then he made a feast for them, and baked unfermented bread, and they ate.
Before he went to bed, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, from the boys to the old men, all the people in one mob. And they called Lot and said to him,
"Where are the men who came to you this night? Bring them out to us so that we may have intercourse with them."
Finally Lot came out to them at the entrance, but closed the door behind him. Then he said,
"Please, my brothers, do not do wickedly. Please, behold, I have two daughters who have never had intercourse with a man. Please let me bring them out to you. So do to them what is good."
Only do not do anything to these men, for this is why they have come under the shadow of my roof. At this they said,
"Stand back!"
And they added,
"This solitary man came here to reside as a stranger and yet he would actually be a judge. Now we will do worse to you than to them."
And they came, pressing heavily on the man, on Lot, and approached to break the door. So the men (the angels) stretched out their hands and took Lot into the house and closed the door. But they struck the men who were at the entrance of the house with blindness, from the least to the greatest, so that they became tired trying to find the entrance.
Then the men said to Lot
"Have you anyone else here? Bring out your sons-in-law and your sons and your daughters and all who are yours in the city from the place! For we will bring this place to ruin, because the cry against them has become high before Jehovah, so much so that Jehovah has sent us to bring the city to ruin."
Then Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law who were to take his daughters, and said:
"Arise! Get out of this place, for Jehovah will bring the city to ruin!"
But in the eyes of his sons-in-law he seemed like a man joking. However, when the dawn ascended, the angels urged Lot, saying:
"Arise! Take your wife and the hands of your daughters who are here, And it came to pass that as soon as they had brought them to the outskirts, he said, "Escape for thy soul." Do not look back, and do not stop in all the District! Escape the mountainous region so that you are not swept away!”
And it came to pass that as soon as they had brought them to the outskirts, he said,
"Escape for thy soul." Do not look back, and do not stop in all the District! Escape the mountainous region so that you are not swept away!”
Then Lot said to them
"Not that one, please Jehovah! Please, now, your servant has found favor in your sight so that you will magnify your loving-kindness which you have exercised toward me to preserve my soul alive but I, I cannot escape the mountainous region so that the calamity will not come near me and I will surely perish. Please, now this city is near to escape from it and it is a small thing. Please, that I escape there - it is not a small thing what? - and my soul will live again".
He then said:
"Behold, indeed I show you consideration even up to this point, by not overthrowing the city of which you spoke. Hurry! Run away there, because I can't do anything until you get there!
The sun had risen over the land when Lot arrived in Zoar. Then Jehovah rained sulfur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens, upon Sodom and Gomorrah. He therefore overthrew these cities, also the whole District and all the inhabitants of the cities and the plants of the earth. And his wife looked around behind him, and she became a pillar of salt".
[Genesis 18:16,19:26] Trans. Tower Bible.
Other documents that mention the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah are the ancient Qumran scrolls, discovered in the Dead Sea in 1947, which were part of the so-called "biblical pentapolis", together with Segor, Seboim and Adama, located precisely south of the Dead Sea , in the fertile valley of Siddim.
The composition of the text makes us have doubts regarding its possible falsification in the "official" Bibles. The narrative style, in fact, of the story, although immediately following that of the meeting at the Mamre oaks, appears very different to us. The expression "Please" appears repeatedly in the dialogues, and they sound profoundly out of style. The plea bargaining of fifty or thirty or ten people seems to have medieval influences from the Holy Inquisition. Originally, the narrative was probably very simplified and sparse, but despite the possible "tweaks" some details catch the eye: First of all, the angels in the text are given human features, but despite this they are immediately recognizable first by Abraham and subsequently by Lot and even the inhabitants of Sodom noticed something different in them (usually anonymous and unknown foreigners do not sodomize themselves, Lot and his family did not, in fact, have this intention; to unleash, therefore, the hunt for men was that strange and unknown something that the two angels possessed). Secondly, the other interesting detail is the weapon used by the two "men" as defense, which they used to blind the attacking crowd, as we will notice, it reminds us a lot of science fiction...
Strange is the repetition of the name "Jehovah" in the sentence below.
[Then Jehovah rained sulfur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens, upon Sodom and Gomorrah. He therefore overthrew these cities, also the whole District and all the inhabitants and plants of the earth.]
Name repeated as if the Jehovah who decides the rain of sulfur and fire is different from the one who actually rains fire from heaven. But was it actually rain of fire? Given what happens to Lot's wife, a doubt arises.
[And his wife looked around behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.]
The Jehovah who remained in heaven probably possessed a weapon, similar to that of the angels but of greater caliber, as in this case one imagines, than the nuclear bombs. These statements are supported by a document released from the archives of the Russian KGB which in summary says:
In the 1970s, a team of soldiers surrounded a UFO. At a certain point, a humanoid being emerged from that UFO holding a sphere in his hand and heading towards the soldiers. At this sight, one of the soldiers, losing his head, fired a rifle shot. The sphere thus emitted a flash of light that was fatal for the soldiers. All died except two, who remained in the shade, compared to the light of the sphere, of some trees. The entity, therefore, returned to the spaceship and disappeared. Subsequent analyzes revealed disconcerting details. In fact, the lightning that killed the soldiers had transformed the carbon of living matter (the surface layers of men and trees) into inorganic calcium: they had been transformed into plaster statues...
