The Sumerians and the Origin of Civilization
According to many scholars of Paleoastronautics and Archaeoastronomy, in Earth's distant past various extraterrestrial peoples came to the planet and gave rise to evolved civilizations that - in fact - modern history fails to fully frame.
From an excerpt from the interesting Pacal.it website here are some significant dates in this regard (www.pacal.it/temi.php?text=cronistoria):
- 18,617,837 BC. The Kumaras, a group of aliens from the planet Venus, land on an island in what is now the Gobi Desert, which at that time was an ocean. (Brahminical Traditions)
- 5 million years ago Venusians founded, in Bolivia, the fortress of Tiahuanaco near Lake Titicaca (Peter Kolosimo)
- 433,000 BC. Landing in Mesopotamia of aliens from the planet Marduk, or more precisely "Nibiru," giving rise to Sumerian civilization. (Zecharia Sitchin)
- Around 400,000 BC. Spread of the Oaness culture of amphibious aliens, with the emergence of the fish-god at the Sumerian, Philistine and Dogon cultures. 12,000 BC. Arrival in the Amazon of extraterrestrials who found the never - again - found civilization of Akakor. (Karl Brugger)
- Between 8000 and 500 BC. Founding by extraterrestrial cultures of civilizations to this day "mysterious": Maya, Incas, Egyptians,
- Etruscans, Basques. (Von Daeniken)
In this article I will focus on the ancient Sumerians, as their culture is the basis of our civilization (we still make use of their mathematics, science and astronomy, sexagesimal measurement of time, music, and various legal principles).
Zecharia Sitchin (born in Bacu, Russia) has studied the Bible in ancient Hebrew and has devoted his entire life to the study of Semitic languages. He is an expert on Sumerian civilization and has discovered that ancient Middle Eastern peoples were often visited by a race from a "wandering planet" called Marduk or Nibiru ("The Crossing Planet") whose elliptical orbit - similar to that of a comet - intersects that of our solar system every 3,600 years. Not only that, according to Sumerian myths it was these beings (called Nephilim - lett. "those who descended to Earth from heaven" from the Hebrew word Nafal: "the fall," "the descent" - or Anunnaki) who created the human being by complex genetic engineering.
The Anunnaki would have come to our planet about 450,000 years ago in search of gold because this metal, needed to solve problems concerning the atmosphere of their home planet, was in short supply on Nibiru.
Enki was the commander of the first expedition, and after 28,000 years came his brother Enlil, who took over the command of the expedition after Enki moved to Africa near present-day Zimbabwe to extract gold from the vast deposits there underground.
About 300,000 years ago, Enki and his bride decided to create a subservient race (us) to mine gold in their place, and performed genetic manipulation by grafting alien DNA onto Homo erectus, thus creating Homo sapiens (recent DNA research has established that there was an "Eve" who lived in Africa 250 to 270,000 years ago from whom all humans are descended).
Man, as a genetic hybrid, was unable to procreate, but Enki decided to give him this opportunity without the approval of his superiors; this aroused great indignation, and it was determined that the human race would have to succumb in the cataclysm predicted following a new approach of Nibiru (about 13,000 years ago), and this would in fact have happened if Enki had not helped the human race by alerting a chosen family that would be remembered in the Bible as Noah's.
After what the myth calls the Universal Flood was over, great was Enlil's surprise to find that some humans had survived, at which point, through Enki's intercession, humanity was finally accepted and the gods entrusted the Earth to humans allowing them to rebuild a civilization in the Nile Valley, Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley. A fourth sacred (reserved) area was left to the gods; it was called Tilmun ("the place of rockets") and was the base of support for Anunnaki spaceships.
If we accept Sitchin's theory then the Solar System possesses 10 planets (12 stars if we count the Sun and Moon) and in fact an ANSA release dated December 12, 2002 and an article in the British magazine New Scientist inform us of the existence of a tenth planet in our solar system beyond the orbit of Pluto that would influence the orbits of the outer planets. The so-called "Planet X" would also be hypothesized by astronomer John Murray by analyzing the gravitational deviation of the orbits of 13 comets.
In various artifacts the Sumerians left evidence of their advanced astronomical knowledge (impossible for the degree of civilization assumed at the time by historians, if one considers that Pluto was discovered only in 1930!), e.g., in the Akkadian seal of the 3rd millennium B.C. (initials VA/243), preserved in the Berlin Museum, the Solar System consisting of the Sun and eleven other globes or planets is reproduced; in the Mesopotamian text K.3558 the members of the mulmul group (our solar system) are described, and the last line reads
"The number of its heavenly bodies is twelve. Twelve are the stations of its heavenly bodies. The total number of the months of the moon is twelve"
and again, in the table called TE at line 20 it reads,
"naphar 12 sheremesh ha.la sha kakkab.lu sha Sin u Shamash ina libbi ittiqu"(A total of 12 members to which the Sun and Moon belong and where the planets orbit).
The text that narrates the genesis of the Solar System is the Enuma Elish ("When on High"- c. 2000 B.C.), consisting of seven plates where it is specified that there are at the beginning only three gods, or planets, APSU (Sun, "One who exists from the beginning"), MUMMU (Mercury-"One who was born") and TIAMAT ("The virgin of life," from which Earth originates).
From the stirring of the primordial waters arise first LAHMU (Venus, "Lady of Battles") and LAHAMU (Mars, "God of War") and then ANSHAR (Saturn, "First of the Heavens") and KISHAR (Jupiter, "First of the Drylands") who begat ANU (Uranus, "The One of the Heavens") and GAGA (Pluto, advisor and messenger of ANSHAR).
Sumerian texts also mention EA (Neptune, "Skillful creator"). The text goes on to describe the initial turbulence of the planets (irregular orbits) and a relative peace interrupted by the arrival of a new god-planet MARDUK, a planet formed in the Deep. MARDUK collides with TIAMAT, first striking it with one of its satellites and then it is the planetary body itself that splits it in two (one shattered half will form the asteroid belt) while one of MARDUK's satellites collides with the separated half (which will become Earth) pushing it into a new orbit along with KINGU (the Moon), already its satellite. After that, in its orbital spin, it attracted ANSHAR's (Saturn's) satellite, GAGA (Pluto) and thus provided it with its own orbit around the Sun (note that present-day scientists confirm that Pluto is more of an asteroid than an actual planet).
The epic text clearly states that MARDUK was an invader from outside the system, and indeed modern astronomers who study "Planet X" claim that it certainly formed outside the Solar System because of its retrograde orbit.
All these data seem to confirm the thesis that extraterrestrial beings have indeed visited the planet in the past and transmitted their science.
