Braised Chicken Thighs
Braised Chicken Thighs
Ingredients:
- 4 pieces chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1.5 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1.5 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon cooking wine
- 3 large slices of ginger
- 2 star anises
- 1 tablespoon peppercorns
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 2 cups water
Instructions:
- Place a cooking pot over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken thighs to the pot.
- Sear the chicken on all sides until it achieves a beautiful golden brown color.
- Add 1.5 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1.5 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of cooking wine to the pot.
- Add 3 large slices of ginger, 2 star anises, 1 tablespoon of peppercorns, 2 bay leaves, and 1 small cinnamon stick.
- Pour in 2 cups of water to enhance the flavors and create a savory braising liquid.
- Close the lid of the pot and reduce the heat to medium low.
- Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 20-25 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, carefully flip the ribs over to ensure even braising.
- Remove the pot from the heat and take out the star anises, bay leaves, peppercorns, ginger slices, and cinnamon stick.
- Your delicious Braised Chicken Thighs are now ready to be enjoyed.
