This is the - British Amateur Radio Teledata Group - News Broadcast Service for all Amateurs and Short Wave Listeners interested in RTTY Amtor, Pactor and Packet Radio.
This news is broadcast during the first full week commencing Monday each month, to the following schedule..
Evening transmissions at 20:00 U.K. local time on 3.584 MHz. Mark.
RTTY on Monday-AFSK, Wednesday-AFSK and Friday-FSK.
Pactor-FEC on Tuesday.
Amtor-FEC on Thursday and Saturday.
Morning transmission at 10:00 U.K. local time on 7.041 MHz. Mark.
RTTY on Sunday-AFSK.
Both frequencies could be +/- for QRM.

The last chance to remind you about the BARTG AGM on November 5th.
The venue is London House, Mecklenburgh Square, London.
Conveniently sited for Kings Cross and St. Pancras BR stations and for Kings Cross and Russel Square underground stations.
The meeting opens at 2 pm. Dining facilities are available at very Moderate prices. A good attendance is required to justify continued use of London as the venue for future General Meetings.

Contests.
The WAEDC RTTY DX Contest starts at 1200 Saturday November 12 until 2400 Sunday November 13.
All 5 HF bands 3.5, 7, 14, 21 and 28 MHz.
Classification.
A) Single operator all band.
B) Multi operator single transmitter.
C) Multi operator multi transmitter.
D) Short Wave Listener. (special regulations).
Rest Periods.
Of the 36 hours contest period only 30 hours of operating time is Permitted for single operator stations. The 6 hours of rest may be taken in one but not more than three periods at any time during the contest.
Exchange Message.
All stations exchange - RST plus three digit serial number starting with 001.
Multi-Multi stations issue serial numbers by band.
Scoring.
There is a complex scoring system used in this contest plus special rules for Short Wave Listeners. You are strongly advised to obtain a copy of the contest rules available from the contest committee by enclosing a s.a.e. plus 1 IRC, to:

Notes of Interest.
North Korea (P5). The operation late December 92, early January 93 P5RS7.
For various reasons this will not receive DXCC credit.
Europa Island (FR/E). Look for Michel FR5HG/E using some RTTY during his 45 day stay. QSL via F6FNU.
Uganda (5X). Paul WF5T will be active as 5X1XT from November 1 to 31 concentrating on CW and RTTY. QSL his home call.
Caribbean. Dieter DL3KDV plans activity using CW, SSB and RTTY from the following islands. St. Lucia (J6) November 9-17.
St. Vincent (J8) November 18 - December 1.
Dominica (J7) December 2-5.
Sov. Mil. Order of Malta (1A0). The latest operation by 1A0KM has been approved for DXCC credit.
South Georgia Island (VP8/SG). Plans are well advanced to activate this rare island for 5 days early 1995 with 3 stations on all bands using CW, SSB and RTTY.
Ghana (9G). The first major contest operation from Ghana since 1982 is planned by members of the Central Arizona DX Association in the CQ-WW SSB contest October 29-30. Outsidde the contest 3 stations wil be active on all bands using CW, SSB and RTTY.

Some RTTY is expected from a second group of CADXA members and friends from the UK. From November 20-30 before and after their effort in the CQ-WW CW contest November 26-27.

To celebrate the Hiram Percy Maxim 125th birthday memorial, W1AW and other stations were using the /125 suffix last month. QSL home call.
Seborga 0S/1P). The first DX-pedition closed on August 31 after Making 30,000 QSO's using the call (IS1A/0S1A). Due to confusion between the (0S) suffix and the special (OS) prefix used by Belgium the Italian PTT agreed to the replacement prefix/suffix of (1P) from 28th August. From that date Paul I1RBJ was signing (IS1A/1P).
Later calls used from the Principality included IK/3A2LZ/1P and IK/F9RM/1P.
Cards are arriving for RTTY contacts with 3A2LZ/0S0D.
Wolf DK7UY had been invited to operate from Seborga from September 25-30 with the call 1P0Y using RTTY in the CQ-WW RTTY contest. Seborga does not have DXCC status.
Belgium (OS). As part of the D-Day/liberation anniversary celebrations Belgium Amateur Radio Groups from Bastogne, Mons, Tilleur and Vervies were airing special callsigns OO50USA, OQ50USA, OR50USA and OS50USA until December 31.
