This is the - British Amateur Radio Teledata Group - News Broadcast Service for all Amateurs and Short Wave Listeners interested in RTTY Amtor, Pactor and Packet Radio.
This news is broadcast during the first full week commencing Monday each month, to the following schedule..
Evening transmissions at 20:00 U.K. local time on 3.584 MHz. Mark.
RTTY on Monday-AFSK, Wednesday-AFSK and Friday-FSK.
Pactor-FEC on Tuesday.
Amtor-FEC on Thursday and Saturday.
Morning transmission at 10:00 U.K. local time on 7.041 MHz. Mark.
RTTY on Sunday-AFSK.
Both frequencies could be +/- for QRM.

Contests.
Alteration to the CQ-WW contest rule for Single Operators.
The 30 hours of operation for single operator stations no longer applies. All stations may now work the full 48 hours contest period.
The Japanese Amateur Radio Teletype Society (JARTS) RTTY Contest starts 0000 Saturday October 15 until 2400 Sunday October 16.
This is a 48 hour contest with no rest periods.
Bands.
All 5 HF bands 3.5, 7, 14, 21 and 28 MHz.
Mode.
Baudot only.
Classes.
A) Single operator all band.
B) Multi-operator all band (single transmitter only).
C) Short Wave Listener.
Exchange message.
All stations exchange - RST and Operator Age - (YL and XYL may send 00 if preferred).
QSO points.
One point for contact with own country.
Two points for contact outside own country but within own continent.
Three points for contact outside own continent.
Multipliers.
One multiplier for each DXCC country worked. All JA - VK - W - VE call districts count as separate countries. Each multiplier counts the first time worked only regardless of band.
Total score.
QSO points times total multipliers.
Short Wave Listeners use the same rules.
Logs.
Log sheets must contain Band, Date, Time GMT, Callsign, Message sent and received and points claimed. Use a separate sheet for each band and include a Summary sheet showing Scoring, Class, Your call, Name and Address.
multi-operator stations must include the Names and Callsigns of all operators.
Logs must be received by December 31 to qualify, to: JARTS Contest Manager, Hiroshi Aihara JH1BIH, 1-29 Honcho 4, Shiki Saitama 353, Japan.
Notes of interest.
Monk Apollo SV2ASP/A from Mount Athos was a welcome sight using RTTY on 14 MHz.
Western Samoa (5W). A group of JA operators will be active from 9-14 September on all bands and modes including RTTY. They will sign the following calls from Apia (Uphole Island IOTA OC-097).
JF2RZJ as 5W0JA, JF2GYH as 5W0HK, JH2ABL as 5W0BL and JA2FBY as 5W0BY. QSL to home call in each case.
Principality of Seborga. Prefix allocation as follows: Overseas operators with CEPT licence use 0S0* (class A) or 0S2* (class B VHF). Those without CEPT licence will sign own-call/0S** Daniel was signing 3A2LZ/0S0D RTTY on 14 MHz.
QSL his home call. Seborga is not recognised as a separate DXCC country at present.
The activity planned for September 19-25 by Randy N0TG from St. Paul Isl.
(CY9) has now been cancelled.
