Steamed Pork Ribs with Garlic and Fermented Black Bean (蒜蓉豆豉蒸排骨)
Ingredients:
- 1.5 pounds pork ribs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon fermented black bean (aka. Douchi)
- 1 tablespoons garlic soy bean paste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 fresh Thai red chili peppers
- Scallions or cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the pork ribs, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1 tablespoon black bean, 2 tablespoons garlic soy bean paste, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and 2 tablespoons oil.
- Mix the marinade thoroughly, ensuring the pork ribs are well-coated. Allow the pork ribs to marinate for a few hours to enhance the flavors.
- Arrange the marinated pork ribs in a steaming dish.
- Sprinkle the chopped Thai red chili peppers over the pork ribs for an extra kick of flavor and heat.
- Steam the pork ribs at high heat for 13-15 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and tender. Once steamed, remove the dish from the steamer.
- Garnish the steamed pork ribs with a sprinkle of fresh scallions for a burst of freshness.
