Extraterrestrial hypothesis
The Gods of Eden
The first dates back to the year 18,617,837 BC; the last to 607 BC: we are talking about the landings of extraterrestrial peoples that would have helped the evolution of our civilization, or even "created" man with daring biogenetic operations. Among the various UFO-related pseudo-cults, the so-called Extraterrestrial Hypothesis is undoubtedly the most popular. At the origin of human civilization there would be a visit - indeed, several visits, of an alien people, just as the various mythologies claim when they speak of "Gods from Heaven". Space visitors would have provided Earthlings with the knowledge needed to begin their long journey to civilization; then, mission accomplished, they would return to their lost world in the Galaxy. It is not easy to trace an "official" inventor of the extraterrestrial hypothesis: for years, in fact, it was relegated to extremely specialized magazines spread among ufologists or in other clubs interested in mysterious things.
Among the most popular writers who have dealt with it we remember the French Robert Charroux and Pauwels & Bergier, the Italian Peter Kolosimo, and, above all, the German Erich Von Daeniken, whose books have become best-sellers in 26 languages. Millions and millions of copies sold, a real army of followers, dozens of imitators all over the world: this is what made Erich Von Daeniken a series of books that began in 1967 with Erinnerungen an die Zukunft (literally "Memories from the future ").
The German writer was able to elaborate the extraterrestrial hypothesis in an extremely popular and readable form, even if the evidence presented in favor of him is very scarce. In fact, Von Daeniken limits himself to showing photos of ancient statuettes and jewels; if the head of the statuette is round, according to him it undoubtedly represents an astronaut's helmet; if the character wears a headdress with horns, these are radio antennas, and so on.
Gigantic designs visible only from the sky that wind for miles over the Nazca plateau were part of a spaceport; large buildings such as Stonehenge, the pyramids, Tiahuanaco were built with the help of alien technologies; the incision on the Palenque temple sarcophagus, the Dogu figurines and certain graffiti in Australia and the Sahara represent astronauts in flight gear; the Piri Reis Chart was drawn aboard a spaceship; the explosions that destroyed Mohenjo-Daro and Tunguska were caused by extraterrestrial weapons.
Authors such as Alexandr Kazantsev have collected in various volumes the "evidence" of the remote visits of "Gods from Space" in what was once the Soviet Union. The Eskimos living in the extreme north of the Commonwealth of Independent States would actually come from fertile tropical regions, and would have been transported to the Arctic by "large metallic birds" from the stars. Other populations living within the polar circle, such as the Jucaghiri settled between the Jana and Kolyma rivers, would even descend from extraterrestrial ancestors, who arrived with a shapeless appearance and subsequently transformed into human beings.
"Evidence" of the passage of extraterrestrials in Eastern countries consists of graffiti, which would represent details of diving suits or space vehicles. At the village of Fergana, on the Shiahimardan river, an engraving reproduces a being equipped with a stylized "helmet".
In Sarmys, Uzbekistan, graffiti dating back at least 3,000 years depicts a "missile" surrounded by men wearing a respirator-like object on their faces. In the Visoki Decani monastery, in Albania, the frescoes on the walls depict some characters aboard very noisy spaceships: the characters surrounding the fresco, in fact, cover their ears with their hands.
In the museum of paleontology in Moscow there is a bison skull found in Yakutija, with a perfectly round hole in the center of the forehead. According to Alexander Kazantsev, it would have been caused by "a kind of bullet"; and since the partially reformed bone around the hole indicates that the animal managed to survive, this means that it was affected when it was still alive, thousands of years ago.
But who could have a firearm then? Perhaps the spirits who, according to the inhabitants of the region, "came down from heaven in their shining chariots" to take away the souls of the dead?
