Sautéed Calamari with Celery
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh calamari tubes, cleaned and sliced open
- 3 cups celery, thinly sliced
- 1 cup carrot, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 small piece ginger, sliced
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Mixture cornstarch with water
Instructions:
- Clean the calamari: Rinse the calamari under cold water and remove any remaining innards. Slice the tubes open.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced gingers , and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced calamari tubes and tentacles to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the calamari turns opaque and starts to curl.
- Stir in the thinly sliced celery and carrot. Continue to sauté for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp and calamari is fully cooked.
- Add salt, white pepper powder and chicken broth over the calamari and vegetables. Add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken the sauce. Toss everything together to coat evenly and cook for an additional minute, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add sesame oil and remove the skillet from heat.
