Stir-Fry Beef with Green Peppers (青椒炒牛肉)

Marinade Ingredients:

  • 8 oz beef sirloin, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Pinch of white pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Stir-Fry Ingredients:

  • 1 large green bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 large yellow onion, cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth
  • Cornstarch mixed with water (for thickening)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions:

  • Start by cutting the beef sirloin into slices.
  • In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, white pepper powder, cornstarch, and oil. Allow it to marinate for a few hours.
  • Cut the green bell pepper and yellow onion into strips. Set them aside.
  • Heat a cooking pan over medium heat with oil and minced garlic.
  • Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes. Then, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, and sugar. Mix well.
  • Add the cut green pepper and onion to the pan and continue stir-frying for a few minutes.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and stir.
  • Thicken the sauce by adding cornstarch mixed with water to the pan. Stir until the sauce thickens.
  • Finish the dish by adding sesame oil and giving it a final stir.
