Stir-Fry Beef with Green Peppers (青椒炒牛肉)
Marinade Ingredients:
- 8 oz beef sirloin, sliced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Pinch of white pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon oil
Stir-Fry Ingredients:
- 1 large green bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 large yellow onion, cut into strips
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cooking wine
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons chicken broth
- Cornstarch mixed with water (for thickening)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions:
- Start by cutting the beef sirloin into slices.
- In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, white pepper powder, cornstarch, and oil. Allow it to marinate for a few hours.
- Cut the green bell pepper and yellow onion into strips. Set them aside.
- Heat a cooking pan over medium heat with oil and minced garlic.
- Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes. Then, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, and sugar. Mix well.
- Add the cut green pepper and onion to the pan and continue stir-frying for a few minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and stir.
- Thicken the sauce by adding cornstarch mixed with water to the pan. Stir until the sauce thickens.
- Finish the dish by adding sesame oil and giving it a final stir.
