Münster
Münster is the capital of the region that gave its name to one of the most famous peace treaties in European history, namely Westphalia.
In a room of the old town hall was signed the Peace of Westphalia which in 1648 redrew the political map of Europe.
Below are some pictures of the main attractions of Münster.
The Münster astronomical clock in the Münster Cathedral, built in the 1500s and still working today! :)
It is similar to the astronomical clock in Prague.
The Archaeological Museum
An ancient Egyptian mummy
Statue from the period 7000 B.C.
In the text under the statue it is written:
Abguss einer Skulptur, menschliche Figur mit Kind, Inv. A 413. original aus Kommagene um 7000 v. Chr. Stiftung Forschungsstelle, Asia minor
It reminds me a lot the alien from Steven Spielberg's film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial!
The Museum für Kunst und Kultur
Two different interpretations of the Pietà from Michelangelo.
A very elaborate mug
Louis XIV
The Museum für Naturkunde mit Planetarium
Original fossil dinosaur eggs!
Reproduction of a dinosaur. According to the latest scientific discoveries, dinosaurs were covered with feathers.
The planetarium is simply amazing :)
