Ribeye Steak with Vegetables (Chinese Style)
Ingredients:
- 8 oz ribeye steak
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup asparagus, cut into pieces
- 1 cup Brussels sprouts, cut into pieces
- 1 cup carrot, cut into pieces
- 1 cup water chestnut, cut into pieces
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cooking wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- Water, as needed
Instructions:
- In a bowl, marinate the ribeye steak with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- Cut the asparagus, Brussels sprouts, carrot, and water chestnut into pieces. Set aside.
- Heat a cooking pan over medium heat and add the oil and minced garlic.
- Pan sear the ribeye steak for approximately 4 minutes on each side for medium heat. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the cooked steak into half-inch slices and set aside.
- In the same cooking pan, add the cut vegetables and stir fry for a few minutes.
- Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, sugar, and chicken broth to the pan.
- Continue cooking until the vegetables become soft. Then, add the sliced steak to the pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add this slurry to the pan to thicken the sauce.
- Stir well and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens.
- Your Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak with Stir-Fried Vegetables is now ready to be served.
