Ribeye Steak with Vegetables (Chinese Style)

Ribeye Steak with Vegetables (Chinese Style)

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz ribeye steak
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup asparagus, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup Brussels sprouts, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup carrot, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup water chestnut, cut into pieces
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cooking wine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Water, as needed

Instructions:

  • In a bowl, marinate the ribeye steak with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Cut the asparagus, Brussels sprouts, carrot, and water chestnut into pieces. Set aside.
  • Heat a cooking pan over medium heat and add the oil and minced garlic.
  • Pan sear the ribeye steak for approximately 4 minutes on each side for medium heat. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.
  • Slice the cooked steak into half-inch slices and set aside.
  • In the same cooking pan, add the cut vegetables and stir fry for a few minutes.
  • Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, sugar, and chicken broth to the pan.
  • Continue cooking until the vegetables become soft. Then, add the sliced steak to the pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add this slurry to the pan to thicken the sauce.
  • Stir well and cook for another minute until the sauce thickens.
  • Your Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak with Stir-Fried Vegetables is now ready to be served.
