Sautéed Beef with Scallops
Sautéed Beef with Scallops
Marinating Ingredients:
* 8 oz sirloin beef, sliced
* 1 Tbsp soy sauce
* Pinch of white pepper powder
* 1 Tbsp cornstarch
* 1 Tbsp oil
Cooking Ingredients:
* 8 pieces scallops
* Salt
* Cornstarch
* 2 cups green cabbage, sliced
* 2 cups broccoli, sliced
* 1 cup carrot, sliced
* 4 shiitake mushrooms, soaked and sliced
* 1 Tbsp oil
* 1 Tbsp minced garlic
* 1/2 cup chicken broth
* 1 Tbsp soy sauce
* 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
* 1 tsp sugar
* Cornstarch mixed with water (for thickening)
* 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, white pepper powder, cornstarch, and oil. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for a few hours.
2. Pat the scallops dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
3. Sprinkle salt over the scallops, followed by a thin layer of cornstarch.
4. Heat a cooking pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is heated, pan-sear the scallops for about a minute on each side until they develop a golden crust. Remove the scallops from the pan and set them aside.
5. In the same pan, add the marinated beef and cook for a few minutes until it turns brown. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
6. Add another tablespoon of oil to the pan, then add the sliced shiitake mushrooms and minced garlic. Stir-fry for a minute until fragrant.
7. Add the sliced green cabbage, broccoli, carrot, and chicken broth to the pan. Cook until the vegetables become soft.
8. Return the beef and scallops to the pan. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir and cook for another minute to combine the flavors.
9. To thicken the sauce, add the cornstarch mixture (cornstarch mixed with water) to the pan. Stir well until the sauce thickens.
10. Finally, drizzle sesame oil over the dish and give it a final stir.
11. Your Sautéed Beef with Scallops is now ready to be served.
