Spicy Shredded Beef with Celery and Carrots
Marinating Ingredients:
* 8 oz sirloin beef, cut into strips
* 1 Tbsp soy sauce
* Pinch of white pepper powder
* 1 Tbsp cornstarch
* 1 Tbsp oil
Cooking Ingredients:
* 2 cups celery, cut into stripes
* 2 cups carrots, cut into stripes
* 3 scallions, cut into 2-inch stripes
* 1 Tbsp oil
* 1 tsp minced garlic
* 1 Tbsp soy sauce
* 2 Tbsp Hoisin sauce
* 1 Tbsp cooking wine
* 1 Tbsp red chili oil
* 1 tsp sugar
* 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine the beef strips, soy sauce, white pepper powder, cornstarch, and oil. Mix well and marinate the beef for a few hours.
2. In a separate bowl, prepare the celery, carrots, and scallions by cutting them into stripes. Set aside.
3. Heat a cooking pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is heated, add the minced garlic and sauté for a moment.
4. Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until it starts to brown.
5. Next, add the celery and carrots to the pan and continue cooking for an additional minute.
6. Pour in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of Hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon of cooking wine, 1 tablespoon of red chili oil, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
7. Cook the mixture until the vegetables become soft, which will take about 2 more minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
8. Finally, add the cut scallions and drizzle 1 teaspoon of sesame oil over the dish. Give it a final stir.
