High School Hacking, Changing Grades
Well, you are failing your classes, and if you don't graduate, your mom is going to take away your computer (typical rodent scenario). So, you have this BRILLIANT idea to go into the school computers, and change your grades! (No none has EVER tried this before). One thing you need to know before you even attempt this. The chances are you will get caught! I did this for a friend recently, and the only reason she got away with it is because I only slightly altered the Grade (F to a D-).
Now the first thing you need to do is Carrier Scan the area around your school. Usually about 500 numbers on each side. You should pick up a 1200 or 2400 Baud carrier. After you have found the carrier you need to wait till a major Test, or Finals has come up. The only way you are going to get caught is if you are stupid! So be careful, make sure there is a reason why your grade has changed. now comes the easy part
After you have dialed up the School computer, you will need to know the next few things....
(School Login) WHS_LOGIN:> (type ROOT or SYSTEM)
(School Password) PASSWD:> (once again either ROOT or SYSTEM)
Now your in...heres the difficult part, there are not going be any menus for help. So read the next part Very Carefully. This is a UNIX based system, so if you don't know anything about UNIX you had better read up on it before attempting this!
(Your Prompt) WHS_SYS:>cd students/seniors (or other grade)
(Sometimes students\9-10-11-12)
WHS_STUDENTS/SENIORS:>cd (student number) #####
Now you are going to want to type "lss" (Dir Command for unix) and you are going to run into alot of files named res.##.##.## (## will be numbers!) the numbers are Dates (example res.12.04.93) as you can see these are your test\work results. The best way to change grades is to go to the last date you can see and alter it..

Res-F
Class-4-M
Teacher-R. Cunt
Here is an example Test results....for a test, For fourth period, Bob has Failed with a 00% (never copy off the stoner next to you). But Bob has a computer. So he goes in and alters the grade a bit.
WHS_/students/seniors/10288:>vi res.12.04.93
VI is a basic Unix Text editor, if you know unix, you know VI. Edit Edit the percentage, and the Grade...DO NOT FORGET TO DO EITHER!!! now type "off". and exit the system...and Boom you have successfully, and safely changed your grades...Now in a couple of weeks ask your teacher to review your grades.
In My area this worked less than 2 weeks before the writing of this article, It is in the area of Orange County California....
