Issue #6. We've finally past the "Five issue critical point". Most magazines that fold usually fold before five issues are out. We've past that point, and we ain't going away!
New News
Not much has happened since Issue V - all of us have been persuing other interests. However, there is a new DnA product to mention - Backup Tapes. In keeping with the current "Keep EVERYTHING" spirit in the underground (as evidenced by the LOD BBS archive becoming available), I am making backup tapes of EVERY file available for download on DnA Systems available for the price of $30, shipping included. This is a very good way to get a BBS started - or to add lots of files to an existing one. Most of the files contain FILE_ID.DIZ and DESC.SDI files, so it's very easy to add them if your software supports FILE_ID.DIZ or DESC.SDI. Send check/M.O. payable to DnA Magazine to our usual address:

Other Features this Issue:
- Arclight on the NEW box on the market: The Jolly Box (Part I)
- The Hathaway Incident (The REAL Story)
- Part II of Horsepowr's ASM Guide
+++ all the regular stuffs that make DnA DnA!

Christmas Is Coming - SysOps Beware!
It all begins with a new user logging on and writing "Hello, Mr. Sysop person. I just got my modem for christmas..." That's right, it's the annual event EVERY SysOp dreads: The Christmas Modemer Onslaught. It happens every year, and every year it seems to get worse, as modem prices fall. Not all Christmas modemers turn out to be r0d3nt scum. Hell, everyone was a newbie once. Problem is, most of them have no idea what's going on out here, and expect to be fed everything with a silver spoon and don't want to EARN respect and trust. And of course, none of them have anything at all to upload, so they'll leech all they can, which on a system like mine is a rather large amount of data. So all you SysOps reading this beware - come December 26th (or maybe even the 25th!), expect LOTS of new users. Don't automatically delete anyone just because they're a Christmas modemer, let them on and see if they deserve to be on or not. If not, then delete them. If they do turn out to be ok, then cool - goD knows we need new blood out here.
DnANeT Expands
DnANeT has added quite a few nodes recently, and is finally starting to grow. Digital Decay finally hooked up, and The Prodigal Sun in 312 & Binary Degeneration in 615 also got connected. If you run a BBS, or know someone who does - and want to get hooked up to DnANeT, call DnA Systems and download the DnANeT info pack, or file request it from DnA Systems with magic name "NET-PACK".
DnA Special Issue Coming Out
On January 16, 1994 DnA will be putting out a special issue entitled "DnA H/P/A/V Digest Volume I". It will include all h/p/a/v/c/etc articles from all DnA Magazine issues up until that point, as well as several new articles, and some classic text files gathered together from our vast collection. This will be strictly h/p/etc related material. If you want to write for this special issue, let us know RIGHT KNOW what you're going to write about - so we don't duplicate efforts. Don't miss this special issue!
Due to the holiday season, I don't have much to update on this time! Have a happy holiday!
