Is there a connection between Sardinia and the ancient Egypt ?

analysis of the Santa Cristina's well

What is a well? In antiquity the well was not only a device used to extract water from the underground, but also a magic device. We find the magic of the well especially in the Celtic sphere ... easy is immediately the juxtaposition with the "grail well" or "chalice weel", a place where the grail is said to have been hidden, NOT AT A CHANCE THE SYMBOL OF THE ONE RELIGION, linked to the Mother Goddess.

The well thus, in addition to collecting water, has a profound symbolic value, it becomes the place where to perform purification rites and in this case the well takes on more of the connotations of the basin. It can also be the way to connect man to the earth, and thus is the flourishing in the medieval period of bottomless wells such as that of St. Patrick. But this is not the only aspect of the well, there are numerous legends about "wishing wells" where it would be enough to throw inside a coin to realize what one strongly aspires. In this latter aspect still the well resembles the fountain. Also in the fountains people throws coins to express wishes.

The well and the fountain, therefore, have always had a strong magical significance, they are so strongly linked to the cults of deities. In fact the well represents the conduit between heaven and earth, an ancient symbol of the now vanished cult of the White Goddess.

The well thus becomes a place for purification, but in order for the place to be suitable, the first thing to do is to FIND THE MOON IN THE WELL, a popular expression meaning the fulfillment of a wish, something really difficult and rooted in something far more important and ancient that we will now discuss. In order to get an idea of the sacredness of the well we will refer to Sardinian wells, which, because of particular characteristics are better suited to make one understand the secret of such a construction.

The Well of St. Christina

In Sardiania (Italy), near Oristano, we find a site of particular interest, the well of Santa Cristina, called nuragic well or sacred well. In sardinia of these nuragic wells there are about forty, but the most representative is that of Santa Cristina, which takes its name from a a church built nearby.

Let's examine the well. From the central staircase we access the omphalos... where water is collected. According to prehistoric peoples, water that had therapeutic powers. It seems that the divinity of the Nuragic peoples dwelt in the water and always here special ceremonies were held, related to water.

The well cover, called a Tholos, is a false dome with a hole at the top, which had various functions... in fact, every 18 1/2 years, that is, every lunar year and when its declination is maximum, the moon illuminates a person positioned in a particular niche in the well.

The well was oriented in a particular way so that during the equinoxes the sun would illuminate the steps and reach down to the water.

The function of the well is not at all clear, some say that the well would be a place of water worship, though it is only a guess based on studies of the cult of the moon or white goddess and where water is only the "medium." In fact, we could hypothesize the well as a place where fertility-purification cults could take place, that is, the woman would descend into the womb of the mother goddess earth and there, in ablution, receive the celestial principle, which, precisely every 18 1/2 years, would be reunited with the feminine-earth principle.

Surely, therefore, the well was another place of worship of the unique religion, a symbol of union between the connected heaven and earth.

The ritual that was performed in these wells was very similar to what was performed at Baphomet.

But now let's make another observation. These sacred wells of Sardinia are very similar to other constructions that we find precisely in ancient Egypt.

SARDINIA AND ANCIENT EGYPT

The parallels between the well of St. Christina and that of Kom Ombo attribute the construction of the two buildings to the same concept.

There is no doubt that the Nuragic civilization is, among ancient civilizations, one of the most mysterious and still almost unknown. It is recent news that a nuraghe was found in Persia. But what was the original strain, the one that built the nuraghi, the sacred wells, the tombs of the giants? Autochthonous or did they came from the sea?

Actually, the primitive nuraghe has completely different construction and function characteristics from the complex nuraghe, example is the Nuraghe Arrubiu in Orroli.

These nuraghi look more like temples, sacred places! Wells are also sacred, like the well of S. Cristina, well inserted in the landscape of Paulilatino (OR).

Going up the course of the Nile, after several stops all extremely interesting, we arrive in Upper Egypt at Kom Ombo, 165 km south of Luxor (ancient Thebes). Kom Ombo is situated on a knoll overlooking the Nile at a site where the river makes a wide bend to the west. A strategic point in ancient times on the desert road to Nubia and Ethiopia.

Here there are two temples of Ptolemaic age dedicated to the "hawk-headed" god and also to Sobek, the crocodile god. Near these main temples are other much older buildings and also a structure almost identical to the well of St. Christina. Larger, but with the same overall shape like a keyhole, the same staircase, the same dome cover and upper counter dome.

That well could have had the same function as the wells of St. Christina, just pointing out how they could be created by men with the same knowledge and same deities. In Egypt such a construction could have been dedicated to Isis, "the ancient," chthonic and earth-bound deity, but in Sardinia?

At this point a connection between the Sardinian and the Egyptian civilization comes almost spontaneously and we could assume a common origin between the two populations of Sumerian origin. After all the term Nuraghe is a Phoenician term. It seems that the term nuraghe derives from the Phoenician Nur Hag that is the abode of fire, not different from the mystical Celtic wheel of fire.

Architectural constructions, rituals, similar religious beliefs ... could all this be enough to identify the Sardinians as a strain from ancient Egypt?

But the mystery expands....

Similar traditions we also find in South America, among the Maya:

Tzolkin - was the sacred calendar of the Maya, with knowledge reserved for priests, all 260 days were dedicated to different patron deities, however three were the basic ones: 9 - 13 - 20

  • Muluc is the deity of day 9, means water, is associated with the sign of the fish and the corn plant.
  • Ben is day 13, the one that aroused reverential awe because it was dedicated to sowing, translates - reed -, a number that we know is related to the Moon
  • Ahau 20 means great man, thus the earth made lush by the sun.

We have thus, Moon, Water, Earth....the moon kisses the earth through water....
