Scallion Beef Stir-Fry (蔥爆牛肉)
Ingredients:
- 8 oz sirloin beef, sliced
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp white pepper powder
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 Tbsp water
- 2 cups scallions, cut into strips
- 2 cups yellow onions, cut into strips
- 1 cup red onions, cut into strips
- 1 cup jalapeño pepper, cut into strips
- 2 Tbsp oil, divided
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions:
- Cut the sirloin beef into slices.
- In a bowl, season the beef with soy sauce, sugar, white pepper powder, cornstarch mixed with water, and 1 tablespoon of oil. Mix well and let it marinate for a few hours.
- Cut the scallions, yellow onions, red onions and jalapeño pepper into strips.
- Heat a pan over medium heat with 1 tablespoon of oil and minced garlic.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until slightly browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Increase the heat to high, add 1 teaspoon of oil to the pan, and add the cut scallions, onions, and jalapeño pepper. Keep stir-frying until the onions and peppers are slightly browned.
- Add the beef back into the pan, then add soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Keep stirring and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add sesame oil, give it a final stir, and your Scallion Beef Stir-Fry (蔥爆牛肉) is ready to serve. Enjoy!
