Jangjorim - Korean Soy Braised Beef (Modified)

  1. Prepare 1.5 pounds of round steak, cut into 2 inches chucks.
  2. Put beef in a large bowl of cold water for an hour, change the water and rinse the beef for a couple of time
  3. Boil a large pot of hot water. Add beef cook for 10 minutes, then rinse it with cold water. Set aside
  4. Mix 6 Tbsp of soy sauce, 2 Tbsp of cooking wine, 3 Tbsp of sugar, 1 tsp of black pepper and 3 cups of water into a cooking pot
  5. Medium heat the cooking pot. Add half white onion, 8 cloves of garlic, 3 large slices of gingers until boil.
  6. Add beef, then turn to medium low heat. Close the lid cook for 20 minutes.
  7. Add 6 hard boiled eggs, then continue cook for another 20 minutes.
  8. Once cooked, let the beef sit to cool off, then shredded to small pieces
  9. Cut eggs in half, ready to serve
