Lucent On-line Newsletter Vol. 2-9
Hi and welcome to all. Things are going well here and we pray everyone is doing good. I wanted to let you know about a couple things happening on the web site. If it has been a while you need to revisit at http://members.aol.com/lucentweb and view the new addition of the Thunder Ministries INC. web site. This site contains a chat room, current industry news, CD and Concert reviews just to name a few things. This site is new and will continue to change as we develop it but check it out and let us know what you think. Also be sure you take a minute and sign up for the Lucent Discussion List. The list provides up to date Industry and ministry news. Plus you need to visit our friend JAVA. Well, I guess you'll just have to visit the site to find out what I am talking about.
The Narrow Gate
The Narrow Gate or TNG is a free monthly e-zine geared to Christian musicians, writers, artists, as well as those who love music, literature and art. To visit the site go to http://members.aol.com/shaunaskye/index.html to view the site. Look for a review on Lucent in the next issue.
Indie Mailing List
The Indie Mailing List is an excellent way to keep up to date on Christian Indie music. Indie bands, if you don't know, are bands that are not signed to a national label. Lucent posts it's newsletter each month on this list and would love to see even more members join. To subscribe send an email to lwerth@idirect.com with subscribe in the subject line. Let them know you heard about the Indie Mailing list from the Lucent newsletter.
Extreme Christianity
Lucent was recently reviewed in the Extreme Christianity magazine (Extreme Christianity is published as an e-zine and in print) issue #5. Visit the Extreme Christianity web site at http://php.iupui.edu/~blgroce and read other posted issues. Last I checked the issue was not posted on the Internet but it will be soon. To order the printed version by mail print the order form off their web site and mail it to them. This was a very encouraging review that we will post on our web site as soon as it is accessible on the Internet.
On-line Press Kit
I just wanted to drop a quick note to everyone and tell you about our on- line press kit. If you visit the Lucent web site you will notice under our ministry section we have a press kit. Please feel free to print this and pass along to any Concert promoter, Pastor, of youth leader in your church or community. We are currently filling out our concert schedule and would love to set the dates you would like as soon as possible so they don't get filled. Lucent is planning a summer festival tour next year where we are going to hit as many of the big festivals we can. More information on this as the dates are confirmed. If anyone knows someone we should contact please email us a name and phone number with a contact address with a description of the persons job title; such as, a pastor or youth leader, concert promoter.
Listening Lounge
The Listening Lounge URL is http://www.ll.org and will be posting Real Audio clips off the Lucent demo. The clips will be from our unreleased CD Eclectics and will be made available soon. Please visit the web site to see lots of other excellent Christian bands and for Lucent to be featured on the site soon.
Lucent News & Concerts
First let me begin by apologizing for a mistake I posted in our last news letter. When discussing the news on the CMA Radio Sampler project I made it sound like CMA and Audience Records were together on this project. This is not the case. "CMA and the CMA Radio Samplers are not associated or endorsed in any way by Audience Records or Audience Music Group". The release date for the project is October 15th and be sure you call your local Christian radio station and request Lucent. The line-up for the CMA Radio Sampler is: Jason Gay, jlm, Morales, King David, Terry Wayne Fogle, Lucent, eden regained, SonX, Under the Influence, 70x7, adam, Heaven's Thunder, & Mastermynd.
Look for an article in the next newsletter regarding the overseas attention we have received. We have another radio station now wanting material and we will be telling all about this and what God is doing for the ministry in the next issue.
FBCM or Fire Breathing Christian Ministries can be found at http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Boardwalk/8129/index.html. This is a ministry Lucent recently got in contact with and suggest for everyone to check out. This ministry can DJ any event for you or your church. Contact FBCM for any activities you want to have an on fire for Christ DJ play good Christian Music. FBCM has recently said they will also be spinning Lucent. Over the years Lucent has done this type of ministry and know just how difficult it can be. Please keep the FBCM in your prayers and contact them for any events you may have.
