Hi,

How is everyone? I want to start off by apologizing for the lateness of the news letter. I've been busy this week and allowed deadlines to pass without typing up the letter. Next month I'll get it completed on time. We pray you have been receiving the other issues of Lucents on-line news letters. If for some reason you have not, check out the web page. We have the previous versions accessible from the site. The URL for the page is http://members.aol.com/lucentweb.

Lucent would love to hear from you. Email us with any comments or suggestions you may have. Every piece of mail is read and evaluated by the entire team.
Suggestions are taken very strongly.

Great News!!! The press kit and demo tapes are almost completed. We only have one last step to finish the entire process. The O card has been designed and will be printed in the next week or so. The O card is the cover for the demo tape, if you didn't know what I was talking about. At any rate we are excited. If you are interested in receiving a demo tape please Email us with your address and we will send one out right away. For those of you who already requested a demo tape or press kit we are sorry for the delay. One will be in the mail soon.

THUNDER MINISTRIES

In our first letter I told you about Thunder Ministries. Thunder Ministries is the driving force behind Lucent. It makes up our prayer chain, volunteers, and financial support when needed. Thunder Ministries is based out of southern Indiana. This works out great because we all have the opportunity to worship together. Helping the band and members of Thunder Ministries to draw closer in the Lord.

Last Sunday the most awesome thing happened at church. Our pastor announced the new name for our church. The name is Angles Crossing. We are planning new church programs and have started a building fund. We are in desperate need for a new building and as soon as enough funds are raised we will have it. Please keep this in your prayers. If you would like to help in any way just let us know. I'm sure many of you have been threw similar growth in your churches and any help or suggestions would be appreciated. It's an exciting time, but has also proven to be very stressful. Please keep us in your prayers.

DEVOTIONAL

Letter From: Ivan Dale

In light of recent events in my life, I have been forced to reevaluate my relationship with Christ. You know how you just get comfortable with yourself. You think, everything is going great, then all of a sudden you start feeling depressed, with no clue why! It's as a dark thunder storm coming out of no where. No reason why it's there, it's just there.

I felt like things were going great in my life, and then I received terrible news. The company I work for had been bought by another company. At first I didn't worry. I was offered a great job with the other company, but to accept, meant I had to relocate and that was not an option. The ministry is starting to roll again and God kept telling me I have to stay, even though I wanted the job. For me it truly was a test of my faith. I have to be honest with you. I know sometimes people think because someone is a pastor, or works in a ministry like I do, we never struggle. That is so untrue. I face the same problems like everyone else. Actually it's harder, because people know me in my community. Everyone knows I sing with Lucent, so when I‚m in the public eye I have to watch my actions even closer. At times I've had people say "I know you. You sang at that church the other night. I was there." People know me and I have no idea who they are.

My struggles are typical to anyone else's. A lot of times I don't feel very motivated to read the bible and pray. I know what I should do, but I always have an excuse. See, the Devil wants nothing more than for us to get "To Busy." I know it's the mistake I made. I kept thinking to myself I could handle it. I juggled to many things till one day, I dropped them. You know what, after all the mistakes I made. All the times I said I had something better to do. When I finally called on Christ he was right there. He didn't hesitate, and he certainly didn't say "I'll comfort you tomorrow!".

I learn something new every time I get into Gods presence. If you can say, I know where your coming from. Remember, we need to let Christ be the center of our lives. Nothing else matters. I will fail my friends, they will fail me, but Christ will never fail us. Christ can be our forgiveness when we can't forgive ourselves. Christ can be our everything, if we will let him.

Without a doubt, I have learned a valuable lesson. I want to encourage you to seek him with all your heart. Just because others can't tell what's going on in your life, Christ can. He can answer the questions that have no answer.
