Braised Pork Rice Bowl 肉臊飯
- Cut 2 pounds of pork belly into small pieces
- Boil 4 eggs for 12 minutes, remove shell set aside
- Boil few iceberg lettuce for a minute, set aside
- Low heat cooking pot with 1 Tbsp of oil
- Add 6 cloves of garlic, 6 slices of ginger, 6 pieces of star anises, 1 Tbsp of peppercorn, 6 pieces of bay leave, 1 cinnamon stick and couple of dry red chili peppers. Cook for few minutes until favors
- Turn to medium heat, add cut pork belly
- Cook the pork belly for 10-15 minutes until slightly turn brown
- Add 3 Tbsp of soy sauce, 2 Tbsp of cooking wine, 2 Tbsp of dark soy sauce and half cup of rock sugar, then add hot water high enough cover the meat
- Add boiled eggs, turn to medium low heat cook for 45 minutes
- Remove the ginger, star anises and bay leaves, turn to high heat to reduce the juice
- Cut the boiled eggs in half, place the egg and lettuce on top of a bowl of rice, then put the braised pork belly on the top. Ready to serve
