Spring. Feast of colors, scents. Trees bloom, birds chirp, bears come out of their hibernation and look for snack baskets. The first warmers allow you to put the jackets and sweaters in the closets, in favor of those tight and fine T-shirts so tight that I imagined everything. It's the mating season.

Not having many things to do, I decide to watch a Japanese anime to create an atmosphere.

The movie in question is "Sakura Mail", (Sakura Tsūshin in Japan) and literally means "letter of the cherry tree" or something like that. From the plot of the manga it looked like a nice story, while when it came to converting the manga into a movie, they did a disaster. I tell you right away that what really DOESN'T WORK is the protagonist: I swear to you, such a moron hasn't even been seen in I"s (which I'm not reading anymore out of desperation!). Sorry, but you, having the possibility of take one of the most beautiful and sweetest girls in creation to bed, would you put existential problems instead? But I say, where do you find these protagonists? I want free Love! I want peace in the world!

Returning to the plot: then, Tonma, the loser in question, as common use in Japanese manga, when he reaches the age of majority, leaves the campaign for Tokyo, to try to enroll himself at university. Attempt is the right word, in fact in Japan, enrolling at university is prohibitive for anyone, let alone for that moron Tonma. The title "Sakura Mail" is the letter that those who pass the entrance exam send to families to let them know that they have been enrolled.

The evening before the exams, Tonma, all elated, turns on the television on a nice channel to try to ... relax, when, suddenly, there is a knock on the door of his hotel room. Who is ? Tonma opens the door and finds himself in front of a beautiful girl who turns out to be a burusera (a teenagers who, to pay for vices and whims, sell her used underwear to shops of fetishists and maniacs of all gender).

Urara, this is the girl's name, begins to undress and slips under the bed's sheets completely naked. At this point you will say: "he jumps on her and ...". No!! he sends her out of her room. Are you stupid or what ??????

The next day, Tonma, after having spent the sleepless night reflecting on her deficiency, meets Urara again on the road to the university, who apologizes for the previous evening. In response, Tonma turns his back on her and goes to take the exam. On the spot, the idiot meets Mieko, another curvy doll, who immediately takes a liking to the boy. She immediately makes it clear that she will not accept anyone alongside her who is not regularly enrolled at the university, so our hero can not help but take note and try to pass the very difficult exam. But as it should be, Tonma fails to pass the exam, and in order to impress Mieko he is forced to lie.

Ditched by a flood of sewage, our idiot decides not to give up and enrolls in a remedial course to try the entrance exam again, after which he moves to Tokyo to stay at a cousin's house. Guess who the cousin is? Well done, Urara, secretly in love with Tonma for years. Upset? Well, then know that she opens the door to him dressed only in a kitchen apron and nothing more !!! NAKED !!! Question: "Now you use the opportunity and ..., right?". NO. IT DOES NOT!!! SHAME ON YOU!!! And what's more, he picks up the phone and calls Mieko ... I have no words !!! At this point the series continues with other misunderstandings, lies and missed opportunities of the protagonist who, with good reason, could win the prize of the contest "The most foolish in the universe".

Too bad, because otherwise it is a very valuable production: the character design is well borrowed from the stroke of U-jin (the author of the comic), the colors have been exploited very well, using pastel shades which, together with the heavy use of photographic filters, give a very "dream" atmosphere. The direction is of medium-high quality with a skilful use of strategic close-ups (even of more "intimate" parts), the animations spin that it is a pleasure, while the dubbing is in the average of the Dynamic productions. Some might also like it given the quite adult themes, but in hindsight I wouldn't watch it again ...
