How to make cakes
HOW TO MAKE CAKE
RECIPE
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar or less
- ⅔ cup liquid milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- ¼ teaspoon salt
PROCEDURE
- Start by placing a sieve over a mixing bowl, pour in all the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt and sift then use a spatula to mix everything together to combine & set aside.
- In another mixing bowl, crack in the eggs & set aside.
- Next, in a blender, pour in the oil, eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla extract then cover & blend for just 2 minutes. (NOTE: All ingredients should be at room temperature).
- Next up, pour the blended wet ingredients inside the dry ingredients then gently mix everything together to combine. (NOTE: Do not over mix the cake batter).
- Afterwards, brush the cake pan with oil, dust with some flour & remove any excess then transfer the cake batter into the pan, tap the button of the cake pan on a surface to remove the air bubbles.
THE OVEN
- Pre-heat the oven at 355 °F then transfer in the cake and bake for 30 - 35 minutes or depending on the type of oven you using
THE POT AND GAS METHOD
- Place a pot on gas top, add salt and spread it out at the button of the pot, place a rack inside the pot, cover & heat it up for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, open the pot, place in the cake pan & cover the pot tightly with the lid then bake for 50 - 60 minutes. (NOTE: First, you must make sure that the colour of the gas flame is BLUE. Secondly, the lid of the pot must be tight because it helps to trap in the heat & avoid it from escaping out).
- Check on the cake with toothpick. It's ready when toothpick comes out clean then turn off the oven or gas. Take it out, leave it to cool down a bit & remove it from the cake pan.
- Serve and Enjoy with any chilled soft drink of choice or hot tea & coffee.
