Any time is baking time😍
SCONES
- 3 cups cake flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda/bicarbonate of soda
- 150g margarine/butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Salt
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 egg
- 1 cup inkomazi
- (you can use freshmilk, use half cup, add more if there is need)
In a bowl Sift in flour & baking powder, add salt, soda, sugar and mix.
In another bowl add vanilla essence, milk & egg mix well & set aside
Add your 150g margarine to the bowl with flour and rub in using your fingertips till you get a crumbly mixture.
Pour in the eggs & milk mixture & use a fork to mix just to combine.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface.
Spread the dough and lightly flatten it using a rolling pin. Don't put any pressure on your dough.
Dip your cookie cutter in flour as you cut out each piece. Place on a greased baking tray.
Brush the top with milk or egg wash . I use milk.
Bake in a preheated at 180 until golden brown on top.
