Speculum Alchemiae Museum (Prague)
The museum is located in one of the oldest houses in Prague. In 2002, following a flood, a secret chemical laboratory was discovered beneath the palace built underground for King Rudolf II (Rudolf II) in the 16th century.
Here, alchimists at that time used it to prepare solutions.
The main entrance of the museum, where is it possible to buy the ticket. It also contains a shop where visitors can buy the same solutions that were prepared in these laboratories in the past. These solutions are prepared according to the original recipes found here.
The guide during the tour said that workers made some inspections of the building to make sure the structure was stable and did not collapse. Using high-tech equipment, they noticed an empty space behind this stone on the wall.
Behind the stone they found a small chest containing alchemical recipes. The chest is now, if I remember correctly, in a museum and the stone has been repositioned in its original position on the wall.
