I CRY
Shinji has a nightmare, sees Eva, and wakes up in a hospital bed. Gendo is in a meeting with the men of Seele, who remind him to give priority to the project for the improvement of man. Shinji comes out of his room, and sees Rei being taken away on a cot, and Gendo arrives to make sure of her condition, deigning Shinji just a glance. The boy was struck by the scene. Misato comes to get Shinji, and decides that from then on he will come and live in his house. On the way home, the two stop to watch the sunset over the city, while the buildings emerge from the ground. Misato thanks Shinji for defending the city, and she is very understanding towards him, understanding why the boy did not want to come aboard. Shinji cries, because she wished that those comforting words had been given to her by his father when he was in the hospital.
