The Tomb of the giants of Is Concias, also known as "the house of the Ogre" ("Sa Domu 'e s'Orku" in Sardinian language) is located in the south of Sardinia. Can be easily reached by car, taking the street SS 125 in direction Muravera.

Along the road, from a small side area, it is possible to see the famous waterfall of San Pietro Heaven.

Continuing by car, the archaeological site with the tomb can be reached.

This is the main entrance to the archaeological area

The following text is shown on the sign:

The monument is about 1.000 years old !

And here, finally the famous tomb

Please note the tomb's entrance: it is very small and narrow!

The construction technique is similar to that used to build the "Nuraghi": several stones of different sizes placed one on top of the other without any cement.

The entrance is very small and the interior space very tight. It is not possible to stand upright. I had to remain crouched.

The construction technique is similar to that used in ancient Egypt to build the great gallery inside the pyramid of Giza (although the dimensions of the two monuments are completely different): the walls get closer as the structure grows in height.

On top, horizontal stones act as a lintel.

With this particular structure, the weight of the overhanging stones is supported by the side walls and not by the lintel himself. This construction technique has prevented the monument from collapsing over the centuries.

The monument has been well preserved up to the present day.

Continuing along the road, about 1 km from the tomb of the giants of Is Concias is the "Country Church of San Pietro in Heaven" (Chiesetta Campestre San Pietro In Paradiso).
