the phone rings. I answer. no, i don't have the money right now.
payday is in ten days, I'll pay then. yes i know I'll still be behind, but
I can't promise you money I don't have. they'll call back later. fine.

knock at the door. phone rings. screw the phone, voice mail will
get it. go answer the door. shit, loan company wants all the money or all
the car. should have said screw the door. need the car to use at work to
make money to pay for the car. check the voice mail. just told these
people I don't have the money until I get paid. they called back already.
check the mail. bill, bill, bill, bill, magazine, crap, crap, etc.
bills go in one pile, pay what I can, magazine to the bathroom (I know what
you're thinking, but it's dr. dobb's journal. don't be a perv), toss the
crap crap etc. hmm, I'm pre-approved for a zero percent $15000 limit
mastercard. stamp that one and mail it back out to the other place that
called. [smirk]
phone rings. nope, didn't win the lottery, next drawing is wednesday
at 10pm, call back then. oops, not a bill person. sure I'll go have a beer
(or ten). yeah, put it on my tab. my tab. hehe, get it? fine, here's yer
cash. sheesh.
work extra tomorrow, sure. I need the money. while I'm at work,
phone rings. voice mail answers. you never answer our calls. you must not
want to pay because you never answer our calls.
call back tomorrow. all our customer service people are too busy to
help you while you're taking an unauthorized break at work, please stay on
the line. can't, gotta go, gotta work. check voice mail first. you never
answer our calls, why not? where is our money? slam phone down. probably
get a bill for damage to the phone, too.
stuff at work is late from being on the phone. work harder to make
up lost time. freak out with anxiety because everything work is behind.
message at work from car place. call car place back. jam to neil diamond's
christmas classics for 20 minutes so I can tell a human I'm busy so don't
bother me while I'm working. get dirty look from boss.

gotta run. why I don't know, but I gotta run. run, rabbit, run.
