SD Card Sega Dreamcast Tutorial
Very easy and simple tutorial to play the Dreamcast games from the SD. The SD should contain the Dreamshell. It does not take more than a minute and then it stops automatically the cd-drive. Highly recommended to prolong the lens's life.
Materials:
- Thin cable: can be a standard IDE cable
- FLUX
- Silicone bat and soldering iron of 40 watts or less.
- Tin
Programs for the SD card:
The Dreamshell_rc3: just put the files in the root of the SD, formatted in FAT32.
Iso_make: Iso _Make_pack_v2.3 all gdi has to be optimized for SD.
Before you get your hands on it, if you've never welded, practice a lot before with biejas plates. If you practice a lot it will be very easy for you later and almost certainly you won't screw up!
We have 2 options, we can solder directly above the serial port, or below the motherboard.
OPTION 1:
We will have to remove the capacitor soldered at point marked with 4.
The flux will be of great help to us to solder in the serial, it prevents the tin from coming together and leaving us short.
OPTION 2:
You will have to remove the 3 capacitors and solder the cables at the marked points.
Welding of point 7 is somewhat complicated.
