Mongolian Beef 蒙古牛
Mongolian Beef 蒙古牛
- Cut 8 oz of beef (either sirloin or flank steak) in slices
- Marinate beef with 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, pinch of white pepper powder, 1 Tbsp of cornstarch and 1 Tbsp of oil for an hour
- Cut 1 yellow onion and 4 scallions (green onions) in strips, set aside
- Put a thin coating of cornstarch on the beef
- Medium heat cooking pan with 1 Tbsp of oil, pan sear the beef about 1 minute on each side. Take it out set aside
- Use the same cooking pan, add cut yellow onion sautéed for a minute
- Add 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, 1 Tbsp of sugar, 1 Tbsp of cooking wine, 1 Tbsp of minced garlic and 1/2 Tbsp of minced ginger
- Add beef and cut scallions, then 1 tsp of black pepper
- Continue stir-fry for a minute
- Add 1 tsp of sesame oil, ready to serve
