Orange Chicken 橙汁雞

  1. Cut 2 chicken breasts into bit size
  2. Marinate chicken with 1/2 cup of orange juice, 1 tsp of salt for an hour
  3. Mix 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of cornstarch, 2 eggs, 1 tsp of salt and 1 Tbsp of oil. (Adjust the coating thickness by increase cornstarch if needed)
  4. Add cut chicken with the flour mixture, make sure each pieces of chicken are well-coated
  5. Medium heat a pot of hot oil, deep fry chicken until golden brown (depend on the thickness, around 4-6 minutes)
  6. Don’t crowd the chicken to avoid stick together
  7. Take the chicken out, set aside for 2 minutes then put it back to oil deep fry for additional 2 minutes.
  8. Once the chicken done, set aside
  9. Mix 1 cup of fresh orange juice with 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1 tsp of sesame oil, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tsp chili pepper, 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of minced ginger and 1 tsp of orange zest.
  10. Medium heat the orange sauce in cooking pan
  11. Add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken the sauce
  12. Add chicken into orange sauce, mix well.
  13. Sprinkle some chopped scallions, ready to serve
