Braised Beef Shank 鹵牛腱
- Prepare 2 pieces of beef shank without bone, trim fat and soak in cold water for 30 minutes
- Put the beef into a pot of cold water with 1 cut yellow onion, 3 large slices of gingers and 2 Tbsp of cooking wine.
- Turn heat to high until boil, remove brown stuffs and grease continue cook for 10 minutes
- Take the beef out and rinse the beef with cold water
- Add 4 cups of water to Insta-pot, put the beef in
- Add 1 cut yellow onion, 3 large slices of ginger, 3 cloves of garlic, 6 star anises, 4 pieces of bay leaves, 2 Tbsp of peppercorns, 1 cinnamon stick and 1 Tbsp of salt
- Set Insta-pot to “Soup” cook for 2 hours
- Let the beef cool off, set aside for an hour
- Cut beef into thin slices, can be serve either cold or hot.
- Garlic dipping sauce: 1.5 Tbsp of sugar, 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, 2 Tbsp of minced garlic, 1 Tbsp of rice vinegar, 2 Tbsp of water and 1 Tbsp of sesame oil
