Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis)

Characteristic: Size 27 cm. Its predominate color is bright yellow; with the following black marking: a thick mask running from a base of bill and meets another one at the nape, and some parts of wings and tail. Its orange bill is pointed and strong. A female is different by being greenish yellow in over all plumage. Immatures show strong dark streaks on their bellies.
Distribution: East Asia, India, the Andamans, the Nicobars, China, Hainan, Taiwan, the Sundas, Sulawesi, and SE Asia.
Habitat: Dry evergreen forest, dipterocarp forest, secondary growth and orchards.
Habit: Found normally singly, foraging in trees or flying in undulating style. Feeds on insects, ripe fruits and nectar. Breeding in the summer months, when a female lays a clutch of 2-4 eggs. Incubation lasts for approximately 14 days.
Status: A rather common migrant, some populations are believed to breed within Thia territory.
