Blue Rock-Thrush (Monticola solitarius)

Characteristic: "Size 19 cm.Smaller in size than the Blue Rock-thrush ,and having a conspicuous white throat path. A male has its crown and nape indigoblue ; upperpart scaly black and brown; wings dark brown , each with a small which patch ;rump, uppertail coverts and underpart reddish brown . A female has brown upperpart and pale underpart; scaly black marking is clearly present throughout its body ; also its dark ear pathes are joined together by a flash-coloured band."
Distribution: "Northeast Asia , southeast China and Southeast Asia"
Habitat: "Found in both evergreen and mixed deciduous forests, from the plain to the high 1,200 m altitude. In Sakaerat, it inhabits the dry evergreen forest and forest plantations."
Habit: "Seen peaching on trees , usually on branches not too high above the ground; feeding mainly on insects. It is occasionally seen hopping on the ground. There is still no breeding reports from Thailand."
Status: An uncommon winter visitor to the Sakaerat forest. Is is protected by law as a protected wild animal.
