Tomato Beef with Rice (Hong Kong Style) 港式洋蔥番茄牛肉飯

  1. Marinate 6-8 oz of beef with 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of white pepper powder, 1 Tbsp of cornstarch mixed with 2 Tbsp of water and 1 Tbsp of oil for few hours
  2. Cut one yellow onion into strips. Set aside
  3. Cut 2 large tomatoes into chunks. Set aside
  4. Medium heat cooking pan with 1 Tbsp of oil and 1 Tbsp of minced garlic
  5. Add beef stir-fry cook to medium well (around 2 minutes). Take it out, set aside
  6. Add cut onion and tomatoes to the same cooking pan, cook for few minutes
  7. Add 1 Tbsp of soy sauce, 1 Tbsp of tomato sauce, 1 tsp of sugar, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce and 2 Tbsp of chicken broth continue cook until tomatoes turn soft
  8. Add beef and cornstarch mixed with water to thicken the sauce
  9. Pour the tomato beef on top of white rice, ready to serve.
