One of the few original mail coaches still surviving today, the Räderschlitten ingeniously combines wheels and skids and is designed for mountainous regions. Should the weather suddenly change, the coach can be converted into a sleigh by means of a jack in just a few steps. When being driven on wheels, the coach's skids lie about 20 centimetres above the ground. This wheeled sleigh was used between Biedenkopf and Battenberg in Germany's Sauerland region.
