Questions And Answers
Q. My game does not boot after patching.
A. You have probably got the wrong patch. Make sure you get the correct patch for your country.
Q. The patch I have downloaded is a .exe file.
A. These files will automatically patch your image file without using PPF-O-Matic. Simply run the .exe file and follow instructions.
Q. I do not understand what the different types of patches are. What do they do?
A. There are 3 distinct types of patch.
Crack - If in the patch description you see the work Crack you know that this patch is going to be required for a backup of the game to function correctly
Region Changer - If you were to try and play an American (NTSC) or Jap (NTSC) game on a European playstation(PAL) there is a good chance that unless you have the correct hardware, the game would display in black and white and the screen would not be centered.
A region changer patch will change the game to work on the format specified in the patch description. eg an NTSC to PAL patch will allow a American/Jap game to work correctly on a European Playstation and vice versa.
There are other region changer patches called selectors which will allow you to select whether the game will play in NTSC or PAL when the game starts. eg "NTSC/USA NTSC/PAL Selector" will be a patch for the American version of a game and will allow you to select if you want to play in NTSC or PAL so the game could the be played on both an Ameraican and European playstation.
Trainer - These patches will add cheats to the game eg. unlimited lives.
A single patch can contain a combination of the above patch types so make sure you read the patch description to fully understand what the patch is going to do.
