Eggless Scones
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain flour
- 3 Tbsp white sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (113g)
- 1 cup yoghurt (I used strawberry flavour )
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
Note❗️ : Butter and yoghurt should be cold .
Instructions
- In a large bowl sift in flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda,sugar and salt. Whisk well.
- Add butter . Rub it in using your finger tips until you get a crumbly mixture.
- Make a well then add in yoghurt. Mix using silicone a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Mix just to combine the wet and dry ingredients together. Then transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the dough and slightly flatten it using a rolling pin or your palm . Don’t flatten the dough too much otherwise you will have flat scones.
- Dip your cookie cutter in flour as you cut out each piece.Place on a prepared baking tray.
- Sprinkle some flour on top or brush with milk.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 Degrees Celsius for 18 minutes or until well baked.
