Chinese Braised Baby Back Ribs
Chinese Braised Baby Back Ribs
- Baby back ribs cut in pieces, boil in hot water (add 2 slices of gingers, few green onions and 1 Tbsp of cooking wine)
- Cook for 10 minutes, then rinse the ribs in cold water
- Place 2 tablespoon of oil into medium heat pan, add rock sugar slow cook to red color
- Add the rinsed ribs into the pan, stir-fry to get each piece of ribs with the sugar coating
- Add star anise, gingers, red onion, peppercorns, bay leaves and cinnamon stick
- Add soy sauce, white pepper powder and 1 cup of water
- Add salt if needed.
- Low heat cook for 30-35 minutes, then high heat to dry up the sauce.
- Add 1 tsp of sesame oil
