Homemade Chinese Barbecue Pork (aka Char Siu) Air-Fryer Version 叉燒

  1. Cut 2 pounds of boneless pork shoulder into 2 inches thick strips.
  2. Marinate pork with a package of ready made Char Siu seasoning powder for overnight (You can also create your own seasoning combine with salt, sugar, five spice powder, garlic, wine, white pepper powder, sesame oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and red food color)
  3. Place pork inside the air-fryer, brush with a layer of seasoning sauce and a layer of oil.
  4. Set cook at 400˚F for 20 minutes, but flip the pork over apply a layer of seasoning sauce and oil at 10 minutes point.
  5. Once done, apply a layer of honey on each side set cook for another 4 minutes, flip it over at 2 minutes point to apply honey again
  6. Take the Char Siu out and let it sit for 10 minutes before cut in slices. Ready to serve
