Braised Beef with Radish and Carrots 蘿蔔燉牛肉
1. Cut 2 pounds of beef roast into large pieces, set aside
2. Cut 2 radish and 4 carrots into large pieces, set aside
3. Add beef to a large pot of hot water, keep water boiling until clear all brown stuff. Rinse beef with cold water
4. Medium heat cooking pan with 2 Tbsp of oil. Add 3 large slices of ginger, 3 cloves of garlic, 2 star anises, 1 tsp of peppercorns, 2 bay leaves cook for a minute.
5. Turn to high heat, add beef cook for 5 minutes.
6. Add 2 Tbsp of soy sauce, 1 Tbsp of oyster sauce, 1 tsp of salt, 1 Tbsp of sugar, 1 tsp of five spices powder, then 4 cups of water
7. Turn heat to medium low, cover the lid of the cooking pan cook for 40 minutes
8. Add cut radish and carrots cook for another 30 minutes
9. Sprinkle some cut scallions and cilantro. Ready to serve
