The Secrets of the Pyramids

The pyramids of Egypt, the most mysterious monuments on Earth, were built (at least according to most historians, because as usual, there are conflicting theories) in a relatively short period of time, that is, from 2800 to 2500 BC.

Of the thirty-five main pyramids present throughout all Egypt, the majority are located on the edge of the desert, west side of the Nile. Pyramids generally appear in groups; the most famous is that of Giza, not far from Cairo's city, consisting of the three immense geometric constructions observed by the equally enigmatic Sphinx.

The Great Pyramid, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops (Cheops is the Greek name of Khufu) was built between 2700 and 2600 BC, during the 4th dynasty; it is the largest pyramid in the world. The base side measures 230 meters, the height is 150 meters. It is made up of two million and three hundred thousand blocks of granite, which weigh about two and a half tons each; its total weight is five million seven hundred and fifty thousand tons. Inside the pyramid is almost completely full, but narrow passages connected to the outside to underground chambers.

The first systematic exploration dates back to 820 AD, when the caliph Abdullah Al Mamun, particularly passionate about mathematical sciences and navigation, decided to enter inside the pyramid, convinced that inside there was a secret room full of geographical and astronomical maps left by someone of a previous civilization.

It was his excavation team who, after giving up on finding a rumored secret entrance, pierced the outer wall for thirty meters and reached - when all hope seemed lost - the corridor known as the Descending Passage.

The search for new openings and passages continues today; in October 1987 a new room was found containing a "solar boat".

Even with all the modern technologies we have at our disposal, works such as the pyramid of Cheops could be realized today only with immense difficulties, or even - as some engineers assert - they could not be realized.

Scholars such as Kurt Mendelssohn have developed interesting theories involving rollers, pulleys, barges, inclined planes, and an enormous number of workers (not slaves, Mendelssohn points out, but groups of temporarily unemployed workers who arrived from all over Egypt during the seasonal floods).

He reads it in every school text; the fact is that, when you see the result obtained, these rational explanations fail to convince.

This is why the Great Pyramid has become the symbol of mystery, and that is why, over the centuries, it has been associated with many cults and interpreted, from time to time, as a magical temple, an astronomical observatory or the model of the Noe's Ark.

Fancy assumptions

The real craze for the pyramids exploded in 1830.

A certain John Taylor, who had never visited them but was based on some measurements made by Colonel Howard Vyse, publishes a volume entitled The Great Pyramid: Why Was It Built? And Who Built It? .

Examining his measurements Taylor believed he found an extraordinary series of mathematical coincidences between the weight, perimeter and height of the pyramid and (in proportion) the weight of the Earth, its distance from the Sun and the length of the solar year.

The writer J. A. West, a passionate scholar of lost civilizations, personally met Schwaller de Lubicz, an exceptional Egyptologist, theosophist and esotericist who was also close to Fulcinelli's circle of disciples.

In this type of environment there was a widespread belief that the Sphinx and the great pyramid of Giza were the product of a civilization long before the Egyptian one.

This was demonstrable by the evident traces of erosion which forcibly implied a life of at least 5,000 - 10,000 years longer than that recognized by archeology.

Eager to scientifically verify these claims, West managed in 1990 to organize a real scientific expedition on the site.

In addition to West itself, the geologist Robert Schoch of the University of Boston and the geophysicist Thomas L. Dobecky and a team composed of an oceanologist, an architect and two other experts in geology took part.

On the basis of careful investigations it was attested that the erosion of the colossus, normally attributed to the action of wind and sand, was instead due to another element - water.

The Sphinx is usually traced back, dug directly into the rock, and the two archaic temples connected to it around 2,500 BC. is their paternity is attributed to the pharaoh Chefren on the basis of a plaque bearing his name found on the site.

Taking into account the extremely dry climate of Egypt in the last 5,000 - 6,000 years and considering the fact that the Sphinx itself has been buried under the protective mantle of sand for centuries and centuries, its accentuated erosion is an inexplicable fact in geology if not backdated. the construction of several millennia, exactly at that period of heavy rainfall which coincides with the end of the last glaciation.

This particular type of vertical erosion is due to the action of rain over the millennia. Although it cannot be attributed to a period of submersion in marine waters - a thesis supported by Fulcinelli - it nevertheless unequivocally demonstrates the presence of an ancient civilization, master of extraction techniques and incredible stone processing for the time with all the series of considerations that ensue.

West, Colin Wilson and Graham Hancoch, who have disseminated these discoveries and arguments worldwide, believe, like Hapgood and many others, that it is now undeniable the existence of a world civilization identified by some with Atlantis, present at least 10,000 years before Christ.

After the great Flood due to the shifting of the poles, the consequent melting of the ice and perhaps other concomitant causes, this civilization would have disappeared, however, leaving some nuclei of life, entrusted to very small priestly circles, scattered around the world.

These surviving colonies of Atlantis, which had fallen prey to the ice at the South Pole or more traditionally submerged by the waters of the Atlantic, were able to survive the general barbarism into which humanity fell and to rekindle, millennia and millennia later, the fires of the new civilization.
