Stellantis and Ferrari reward employees with a bonus
Both Stellantis and Ferrari will grant their employees a bonus in paychecks for achieving the competitiveness and production objectives in the year 2020.
Bonus to Stellantis employees
The Stellantis group, recently born from the merger of FCA and PSA, communicated to the trade unions the values of the remuneration bonus, which will be distributed this month to the Italian employees of the group, following the achievement of the production efficiency objectives set out in the specific collective labor agreement.
The contribution will be calculated based on the performance of each production unit, assessed through the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) system. In general, Stellantis employees in Italy will be paid a bonus of just under 6% of their salary, which corresponds to approximately 1.370 euro on average.
Gianluca Ficco, of UILM union, said some 54.000 workers of former FCA in Italy will receive the bonus.
The production stops in 2020 caused by the coronavirus emergency did not therefore affect the bonus, even if they imply the reduction of accruals for the months of no work.
Bonus to Ferrari employees
Ferrari, the Maranello-based company, recorded in 2020 a profit of about 600 million euros, 263 millions in the fourth quarter, + 58% compared to the same period of the previous year, beyond expectations despite in decline compared to 2019.
This is why also Ferrari wanted to reward the workers who contributed to this milestone: for the 2020's achievement Ferrari's employees will receive a competitiveness bonus with a total base value of 7.526,14 euro gross, plus an integration of 2.100 euro gross scheduled for April 2021.
The car manufacturer has announced that the bonus is in addition to the decision already implemented to consider as working days even those of the period of suspension of production due to the Covid-19 epidemic from 16 March to 4 May 2020.
Ferrari explained that at that time the employees, who could not work remotely, did not resort to social safety but received regular salaries, with paid leave paid by the company.
For this reason, the company believes that the bonus could be increased by another 500 euro, an additional 7%, for most of the employees.
Furthermore, in 2021 Ferrari has foreseen a further increase in the number of employees, with 50 new employees already hired in the Maranello plant, arriving after the increase of the staff in the last year of about 6% worldwide, over 4,500 workers, most of them in Italy.
