>>>> Electric Dreams seeks Dream Editor
http://www.dreamgate.com/electric-dreams
Electric Dreams has been publishing the dreams sent into us once a
month since 1994. The Dream Editor sends along to the Dream-Flow
list for comment and the dreams, and the dreams are published once
a month in Electric Dreams.
The Dream Editor is a volunteer position with two parts. The first
part is to receive dreams from the Electric Dreams input form and
put them out on the dreamflow@yahoogroups.com list. This just
takes a few minutes every few days. Then once a month, the dreams
are collected together by the Dream Editor and put in a simple
text format that can be included in the monthly Electric Dreams e-
zine. Generally this means copy and pasting a couple dozen dreams
into MS WORD, getting rid of the hard returns and sending into the
general editor towards the end of each month. Maybe an hour or two
task.
Different Dream Editors have given their own spins to the Dream
Section. Some do a lot of editing and selecting, others don't. You
are welcome to create the Dream Section the way you like.
If you are interested in the position, please contact Richard
Wilkerson at Richard@dreamgate.com
>>>> National Nightmare Hotline
1-866-DRMS911
In October, 2001 ASD (The Association for the Study of Dreams)
joined with www.cyberdreamwork.com to create The Nightmare Hotline
for adults and children impacted by the 9/11 disaster. The
Nightmare Hotline in its evolution has become an on-going service.
Skilled professionals are available on phones, 24 hours a day to
debrief adults and children on their nightmares.
Nightmares have an enormous impact on all of us. They are ordinary
events after traumatic disasters. Nightmares serve to digest the
horrific events. Just telling them to someone can have a positive
effect on an individual's sense of well being.
Read about the Hotline in Hope Magazine: Fielding Dreams
This hotline, is NOT a counseling line. However, if desired, a
dreamer can be referred to a counselor after discussing their
nightmare(s). You can also access extensive information about
nightmares at www.asdreams.org
DONATIONS APPRECIATED
The hotline has remained viable because of your generous
donations. We will continue to welcome offers, no matter how
small, that help support this public service.

An Excerpt From The Lucid Dream Exchange
By Lucy Gillis
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
Do our labels and terms limit our lucid dreaming potential? Could
we be limiting our lucid dreams because of the language we use to
describe and define them? Do we ignore potentially valuable dream
experiences because we have learned to label them as "false"? In
LDE 30, Robert Waggoner looks at the term "false awakening" and
challenges us to examine the language we use when describing this
dream phenomena.
*******
"False" Awakenings and the Language of Lucid Dreaming
(c) Robert Waggoner
What is "false" about a false awakening?
What is fallacious, specious, contrary to fact or truth, without
grounds - as The American Heritage Dictionary describes the
adjective, false - about false awakenings?
Isn't it more accurate to deem these experiences of apparently
being aware in one's waking reality, while actually remaining in
the dream state, as "apparent awakenings," "assumed awakenings" or
perhaps, "alternate awakenings"? Invariably when desiring to wake
from a lucid dream, many lucid dreamers have had the interesting
experience of seeming to wake, only later to realize that they are
not in waking reality but in a new dream scene. Sometimes, these
apparent awakenings are quite convincing - one reaches for their
dream journal to jot down the lucid dream and sees the notations
on the paper on the night stand, when suddenly one realizes
something strange - the nightstand is made of metal instead of
wood, or the carpet color is not exactly the same, or an odd piece
of furniture is now in the room! The perception invokes one's
memory and leads to a new realization: "This too is a dream!"
Sometimes, the new awakening from the preceding apparent awakening
is also an apparent awakening! One wakes from the lucid dream,
realizes that this too is a dream scene, and decides to wake up
for real, but the dreamer awakens in a new dream scene, only to
realize in a few moments, that this too is a dream. The apparent
awakening has begun to multiply.
In my experience, I have misperceived my apparent awakening from a
lucid dream seven times in succession. "Waking up" seven times
within a few minutes felt like bursting through the layers of a
larger self! At that final, apparent awakening, my mind swirled in
a whirlpool of memories, perceptions, realizations and ephemera,
grasping for an actual actuality. I slipped out of bed on that
summer morning, steadied myself, and touched the light blue
plaster wall, hoping for nothing more than stability. I touched it
again.
True awakenings or false awakenings seem meaningless terms after
falling through seven so-called "awakenings." There, I sought the
stability of a world, any world was fine, as long as it was stable
- or shall I say "seemed" stable. If I had awakened in a world
with different furniture, an extra cat, new neighbors, it would
have been okay, just as long as it all "seemed" to remain stable.
What I took from my multiple awakenings was the idea that
Perception either has or creates many homes, but the perceived
"true" world-home seems true only in that it conforms to one's
memories.
Memory seems a force that works on Perception - that keeps
Perception's wanderings from going too far - that develops a
homebase for that which wanders. In a way, memory confers
stability. Memory confers a structure. Memory provides a "sense"
for that which we deem self.
The problem with using the term, "false awakening," for what
appears to be an "assumed awakening," appears to be found in our
response to the language.
Why investigate that which is "false"? Why give any credence, any
thought, any validity to a "false" experience? Why concern one's
self with an event which is fallacious, specious, contrary to fact
or truth, without grounds?
Moreover, in the term, "false awakening," one finds an ex post
facto conclusion about the experience, which draws one away from
the description of the actual experience. In the actual
experience, the lucid dreamer assumes he/she has awakened. Thus in
terms of descriptive accuracy, the actual experience seems to
support that the lucid dreamer had an "assumed awakening." To call
it "false" creates negative implications and moves away from
accurately describing the event. As many scientists have
demonstrated, language seems to affect our perception, reaction to
and experience of events. In the relatively new world of lucid
dreaming, we should take care to describe events and perceptions
accurately in order to make the way smooth for others. Words that
imply hard and fast judgments, like "false," seem narrow and
errant.
For example, if I was a physicist investigating theories of
alternate realities or probable realities and was searching for
possible instances of alternate or probable realities, I may
investigate "apparent awakenings" or "alternate awakenings."
However, due to the connotation inherent in the description, I
doubt that I would investigate "false awakenings" - and even if I
did, the term "false" would likely predispose other physicists to
view the experiences as fundamentally invalid.
And for example, if I was a theoretical psychologist seeking
evidence to suggest that the mind creates internalized "worlds,"
and stumble upon this fairly common lucid dreaming phenomenon,
what then? Would I be able to see this phenomenon clearly, or
would I be thrown by the negative connotation of false awakenings?
For science to proceed, clear terms are needed that describe an
experience accurately. I ask readers of The Lucid Dream Exchange
to remove the "false" from apparent, assumed or alternate
awakenings in order to assist futures students of lucid dreaming.

Gestalt Dialogue with the Inner Critic and the Inner Child
© 2004 Linda Lane Magallon
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
"Everything in the dream is a part of you," states the very
popular Gestalt theory of dreamwork. You are encouraged to seat
yourself down on a pillow and begin to act out or speak the part
of every element in the dream. Imaginatively, you "become" the
self in the dream. You look out at the world through her eyes; see
from her perspective. You feel as she feels. You judge dream
events from her point of view. You express her opinions, not
yours. You take an empathetic trip to another side of self; the
self who lives in the dream.
You also "become" the background scenery, the props, the
characters in the dream play. You are the horse and the soldier
and even the color of the sunrise. All these pieces are supposed
to form the "whole" of the dream. That's the theory. But if I
speak as the mountain range or the morning dew, I speak a
monologue. And the fact of the matter is that some of my grumpier
dream elements don't much like to talk! On the other hand, a self-
absorbed tulip may talk forever, never once referring to other
elements in the dream. So I end the session feeling fragmented.
There's no ready glue to paste the pieces back together.
That's why I like Gestalt dialogue. The glue is communication
between characters. I find it especially useful to "become" the
self in the dream and dialogue with others from that point of
view. In this case, the stars of the show were dream characters
rather than background or props. I considered who would be most
verbal, put pen to paper and let them speak. Then, as my dreaming
self, I responded. After the first group talked themselves into a
mumble, I initiated a dialogue with some of the less loquacious
characters. Afterwards, I re-read the dialogue and made some notes
to myself. My dream concern was: who or what is fatiguing me,
being a heavy burden, holding me down?
________________
DREAM
I am pursued by reporters who want to interview me because I can
fly. I fly around the hills surrounding my home, a single house in
a large field, but feel heavy due to the pull of the reporters'
expectations. (They keep following me, at least with their eyes).
Coming back, I pick up my younger brother by the hand. For a while
he flies Superman style like I do, but when he tires, I must carry
him seated in my arms. This position weighs me down so I must land
in back of the house. Once inside, the house opens into a school
room. Third hand, I see myself go sit on a chair to be at the same
level as the children who crowd around me. I smile, hold out my
arms and talk with them.
________________
DIALOGUE
Reporters: How do you fly? Can't you give us hints?
Linda: I don't know-I just *do* it.
R: What does it feel like?
L: Great. Freeing. Happy. Ecstasy.
R: Will you give us a ride?
L: You would weigh me down-it's very tiring. Your demands pull me
down.
R: But it's our jobs to get the facts! We must get the information
out to the people-it's their right to know.
L: I want to help you-believe me I do-so you'll go away happy and
leave me alone. I'd like to tell you, but I don't know how!
R: Can we have your autograph?
L: Uggh! Pester parasites. Can you tell me how I do it?
R: We don't know-we just report the facts you give us. Give us the
facts!
L: I don't have them.
R: But you can fly-we see you.
L: If I can-so can you.
R: Okay, how?
L: I just will myself up into the air. I just choose to go. I
project my thoughts in that direction.
R: But we try and we can't! Tell us how! Let us come with you.
L: No, no, you'll drag me down.
R: It's no fair.
L: You've got to find your own strength.
R: If we can't do it, we'll be jealous, we'll drag you down, we'll
criticize you.
L: That's what I'm afraid of. Why is criticism and others'
expectations able to drag me down?
R: We pull you down to our level. If we can't, then neither will
you.
L: What would satisfy you?
R: To get the information we came for.
L: And if I don't have it?
R: We'll stay until you do or we'll go away and call you a fake to
the world.
L: But I can fly!
R: You fail to explain yourself.
L: Must I?
R: Yes.
L: Why?
R: We must have that information-it's our job.
L: Don't you have other stories?
R: If you don't tell us-you might tell others.
L: But I don't know!
R: OK. Write it down: "Linda doesn't know. She is a dummy. She
hasn't the foggiest idea of how to fly. She can't teach anyone
else. She's no good to anyone but herself."
L: I helped my younger brother.
R: Big deal-here you have a novel ability and you can't help the
world.
L: Why must I help the whole world?
R: You must! It needs help!
L: But I didn't create the need. The only way the world can be
helped is to help itself.
R: You have a special gift-you have been blessed and honored
especially. You owe the world to give it away.
L: Give it away? What good will that do? I'll just be depleted.
And what will you have learned?
R: Better to give us a bit of water than to let us die of thirst.
L: But I become thirsty.
R: Then you'll be just like us. Ha, Ha, Ha!
L: Why so happy?
R: Triumphant. Rejoice for we have defeated you! We have won! We
have won!
L: But what have you won?
R: Status quo. We like where we are. Don't shake us up. We have
enough problems without have to deal with this kind of idealistic
nonsense. Intriguing, yes, but practical? No, good to laugh at, to
ridicule. Keep it down, it's dangerous. The unknown will upset us.
We can't afford to be upset any more than we are. Life is too
precarious as it is. Unless you can offer a life raft to cling to,
we want no part of you and your harebrained schemes.
L: Life is scary.
R: Damn right. Why, we could tell you stories...
L: That would only serve to cover up the issue. Please, let's not
play the game of smoke screen or fake-it.
R: Facades are necessary to hide behind. They give some protection
against being overwhelmed by forces too great for any single
individual. We need the handicaps, the tools, the quick and easy
answers. It takes too much time away from the effort we must apply
to maintain our stance in this risky society to spend on
frivolities-like your idea of flying. We have to survive. We can't
afford to take this other stuff seriously. We can't.
L: I understand. But tell me this-how is it that I can?
R: (Mumble.)
L: Hi, Younger Brother.
Younger Brother: Hi, Linda.
L: How did you like flying with me?
YB: It was great for a while and then I got tired.
L: I tried to hold you up longer, but you're getting heavy!
YB: Well, it's hard to do.
L: For now, because you're just learning. It'll get easier.
YB: Okay.
L: Hi, kids.
Kids: Hi Linda, come be at our level.
L: What level is that?
K: The level of having fun!
L: Who are you?
K: We are the young people in your life.
L: You mean children?
K: No, we're the Inner Children of the people you know.
L: Cool.
K: Can you really fly?
L: Yup.
K: Gee, that must be fun...maybe someday we can fly, too.
L: Sure, why not? Hey, Younger Brother, would you like to tell
them about your experience?
YB: (He does.)
________________
NOTE
The difference between the two groups was that the kids were
gathering out of a childlike spontaneous curiosity while the
reporters were demanding explanations. I don't like to be put on
the spot by people who have no intention of trying out the "sport"
or "game" of flying; who just analyze, criticize, complain and ask
unanswerable questions. The kids know better. They seem to sense
that, in the end, the hows and whys and wherefores of flight
aren't something to understand just by talking about it. It's
something you *do.* So, the best approach isn't to verbalize, it's
to act. And Younger Brother is the perfect model for these kids;
he's their own age. The flying may be short, slow and low, if need
be, but that's okay because he's a beginner and not expected to
play the "expert." Once the kids see that he can do it, flying
won't be such a humungous challenge for them (as it is for the
reporters). It's something to take gradually, one step into the
air at a time.

The Time Bomb
How Your Dreams Can Help You Choose the Right Vocation
© 2004 by John D. Goldhammer, Ph.D.
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
Dreams have a poetic integrity and truth. . . .
These whimsical pictures, in as much as they originate from us,
may well have an analogy with our whole life and fate.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
My fascination with dreams actually began nearly two-and-a-half
decades ago when, seemingly out of nowhere, a torrent of unusual
dreams roared into my life. It was as though somewhere in my
psyche, someone had opened an inner floodgate. Even though I was
unable to interpret this inner, symbolic language at first, my
intuition told me that these dreams were far more than just my
brain purging residues from the day. They contained thematic
images, symbols, and dramas that moved through my life, leaving
strange tracks, exotic fragrances, tearing down old buildings,
setting fires. I was captivated.
In the late seventies, I began working with others' dreams and
with numerous dream study groups, filling several filing cabinets
with fascinating examples of individuals' dreams. I realized
early-on that dreams held many valuable keys to understanding life
and especially the choices we make that inevitably chart our
future course.
Over the years I discovered a something quite remarkable about
dreaming: Our dreams relentlessly identify those essential,
extraordinary qualities that make us unique and authentic
individuals. At the same time, dreams are ruthless and often
shocking in exposing influences from others that threaten our
ability to live our own lives.
On one overcast, windy morning I'm walking along and I'm thinking
how we all see the world through glasses of some sort: we put on
our religious lenses that see life through a particular religious
viewpoint; or we put on our political glasses and see the world
through one political viewpoint; or we put on our familial glasses
and see life through the expectations of our parents; or we put on
societal glasses and live our life by adapting to social pressure
to conform to popular ideas. Or we interpret our dreams through
the thick dark lenses of some theory. Our dreams carry the awesome
potential to help us to see clearly who we really are; our
natural, inborn potential and unique character without anything
"put on" us.
Our family's hopes and expectations for us, while usually well-
intended, become one of the "things" we put on. For example, not
long after the September 11th tragedy, a good friend, clearly
upset, told me about a dream that appears to have a literal
warning. Aaron, a soft-spoken young man in his late twenties was
in the midst of struggling with what to do with his life. His
dream appeared to be predicting a terrorist attack:
Someone keeps showing me a map. I notice it's a pie-shaped area
and realize it's somewhere around the Great Lakes area, maybe
Chicago. An unknown man's voice tells me that a nuclear bomb is
going to be detonated there on November 1st and I should make sure
that I'm at least fifty to a hundred miles away from there.
Aaron's family, particularly his mother, wanted him to follow
family tradition and go into the medical field. But he had always
loved art and architecture and felt a frustrating split between
giving in to his family's expectations and following his own
passion.
Dream images constantly clarify what belongs to the dreamer's
Authentic Self or essential nature and what symbolizes self-
defeating outside influences. I asked Aaron to describe what it
would be like to imagine being that part of the country, and, as
the land and the waters, what had happened. "The water has been
polluted," he replied. "And if I'm that land, I've been overrun
by civilization, covered up." Then I asked him to describe what it
would be like, from the land's viewpoint, to experience a nuclear
explosion? He explained, with a sudden smile of realization,
"Everything that's been put on me is gone!" A few days later I
received an excited call from Aaron, who couldn't wait to tell me
that November 1st was the final deadline for him to enroll in
dental school and that he had just decided not to register.
Aaron's dream, one week before the school deadline, dramatically
showed him the power of this decision on November 1st. It had the
potential to clear away all the attitudes and expectations from
his family that were preventing him from living his life
everything that had been "put on" him, that had "overrun" and
"polluted" his original, natural landscape. His "nuclear" family's
influence was about to be exploded. Moreover, atomic fission, a
nuclear reaction, promised to release tremendous energy, energy
that would now be available to begin a new lifeenergy no longer
tied up the exhausting effort to conform and to live someone
else's life. And his dream also warns him to keep his distance
from this event, to be aware of the "fallout"the reaction from
his mother and his family to his decision. Aaron avoided making a
disastrous career choice.
Aaron's dream is a profound example of how our dreams are
relentlessly purposive in seeking to move us into living our own
authentic life, releasing dormant, inner potentials so that each
one of us can add unique values and characteristics to society and
to our world. It would seem that our dreams want us to lead
uncommon lives!

How to become a Dream Worker
Jeremy Taylor
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
(SO - YOU WANT TO BE A DREAM WORKER, BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO RUN THE
MAZE & JUMP THROUGH THE HOOPS OF THE "PROFESSIONAL
PSYCHOLOGY/THERAPIST" ACADEMIC TRAINING?)
There are at least 5 separate, potentially overlapping ways to do
this.
(1) ASD TRAINING FOR MEMBERS & CONFERENCE ATTENDEES: Attending ASD
events, (both international and regional), where increasingly
training in various techniques and philosophies of dream work and
dream exploration are being offered. At some point, it is very
likely that these "trainings" will be woven together
administratively and turned into some sort of "certificate"
program. (It's not fully in place yet, but just recently at the
ASD Board sessions at UC Santa Cruz, on 7/12/01, the Board passed
the first set of "general guidelines" for establishing such
training programs, and the application of those guidelines is
already under way.)
see The Association for the Study of Dreams
(2) UNIVERSITY AND INDEPENDENT ACADEMIC INSTITUTE PROGRAMS IN
DREAM STUDIES:
Checking out various academic programs oriented to practical
dream work skills, rather than professional psychological training
and licensure: The ones I am most aware of are:
(A) "The Dream Studies Program", a "track" in the larger
"Consciousness Studies Program" at John F. Kennedy University in
Orinda, California,(at least for the moment - there is a plan to
move JFK University up the road a few miles to Walnut Creek,
California, but that is still in planning and fund-raising stage,
and will not happen for at least another year or so...) Fariba
Bogzaran is the Founder/Director of that program. I believe it is
possible to matriculate with "a Masters in Consciousness Studies
with a Concentration in Dream Studies" - (or language very close
to that.) The program takes 2-3 years, and offers classes that
meet once a week, as well as weekend intensives. geared to the
regular academic calendar.
http://www.jfku.edu/holistic/hs-dream.html
(B) The Doctor of Ministry Program at the University of Creation
Spirituality in Oakland, California also offers a concentration in
Dream Studies. Founded by the former Dominican, (now nominally
Episcopalian), theologian, Matthew Fox, this program stresses "the
re-invention of work", and requires that students take a number of
expressive arts classes, as well as more traditional classes
practical and theoretical dream work training. A handful of people
have already received doctorates with a concentration in Dream
Studies. The UCS D.MIn. Program meets in a series of week-long
intensives, year round. The program takes 2-3 years. You can check
this program out on the web at :
http://creationspirituality.com/
(C) The Haden Institute, in Charlotte, North Carolina, offers a 2
year program in "Dream Leader Training". It also meets in week-
long and week-end intensives. Some of their classes are offered in
Charlotte, and others are offered in the Episcopalian retreat
center, Kanuga, in the mountains near Hendersonville, NC. Check
them out on the web at http://www.hadeninstitute.com/
(D) Clearly this kind of program is "an idea whose time has come",
and there are other new programs springing up in Canada, Mexico,
and other parts of the U.S. on an almost seasonal rhythm. Check
back in here to keep apprised of developments as they break...
(3) Another "alternative" to the "professional psychology" route
is MINISTERIAL/ CHAPLAINCY / SPIRITUAL DIRECTION TRAINING. More
and more traditional denominational seminaries and spiritual
direction programs are offering courses in practical dream work as
part of their regular studies. Check the seminaries of your
denomination, and the "interfaith" seminaries in your geographic
area. These course offerings vary wildly from semester to semester
and year to year.
(A) In the San Francisco Bay Area, there is a new dream work
training program being offered by the Chaplaincy Institute for
Arts & Interfaith Ministries. This program has a full Dream Worker
Certification program, and offers practical dream work training as
a regular part of its other "tracks": Ordination as an Interfaith
Minister, or Minister of the Arts, Commissioning as an Interfaith
Chaplain, Certification as a Dream Worker, and Certification as an
Interfaith Spiritual Counsellor/Director. These "tracks" may be
taken concurrently, in any combination. As a matter of policy,
credit is always granted for past education and experience,
(4) HYPNOTHERAPY TRAINING: although most hypnotherapy training
programs do not offer specific training in working with dreams,
some of them do. It is the easiest, least expensive, and most
quickly accomplished professional "therapy license" granted in
California, and many other States and Territories as well. It
usually takes about 6 months to complete the training and receive
the license. Once a hypnotherapy license has been acquired, it can
be used to "cover" work with dreams, particularly if the work
includes light trance work, (to say nothing of the job
opportunities in the weight-loss and smoke-addiction-recovery
industries...)
(5) SIMPLE (LEGAL) ORDINATION: The Church of Universal Life,
Modesto, California, founded by the Kirby Hensley, has established
the fundamental legality of their "mail order" ordinations. The
"practice of religion" is CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED in the U.S.,
and that means that practicing one-to-one dream work and dream
group facilitation under the "umbrella" of a CUL ordination is
completely legal. The CUL Minister is limited in what language can
be used in promotional materials, (one may not use the word
"Therapy" or Therapist" - unless one also has a license, say, as a
hypnotherapist - but words like "Consultation", Facilitation",
"Coaching", Dream Worker", etc. may all be used freely.)
ANY AND ALL OF THESE "ALTERNATIVES" TO TRADITIONAL PROFESSIONAL
ACADEMIC PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAINING CAN BE "MIXED & MATCHED" TO SUIT
THE NEEDS AND DESIRES OF THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WISHES TO BECOME A
DREAM WORKER AND LEGALLY CHARGE MONEY FOR HIS/HER WORK.

------------------------------------------------------------------
First the bad news.
There was more money made last weekend on the latest blockbuster
movie than all the money made by all the dreamworkers since Freud
wrote the Interpretation of Dreams a hundred years ago in 1900.
Gayle Delaney, one of the big and early movers in dreamwork, has
said that no one yet has really made a living doing just
dreamwork, they always have to combine this with financial support
from other sectors. And having been on Oprah and Donahue, written
tons of books and traveled with her dream show world wide, she
should know! Dream science has always been done during the off
hours of the labs. Aserinsky and Kleitmann, who brought REM or
Rapid Eye Movement Sleep to public attention, did their work on
dreams during their off time, late at night in the labs at the
University of Chicago.
Without full time dreamwork professionals, how does the field
evolve? People do other things. Here are some of the most popular
dreamwork-combo professions:
1. Psychology. Especially Jungian psychology, which has a heavy
dream focus. Most dreamworkers have lots of mental health training
and many are psychotherapists.
2. Publishing and Lecturing and Workshops. Books are the main
contact source for the dream worker and the more successful
dreamworkers are also giving seminars, lectures, workshops,
conference presentations and getting as much air time as possible.
Most are still neglecting the Web, but some progress is being
made. There are some writers who use dreams as rhetorical devices
in their books and screenplays. There are a few scholars who write
about dreams, but not many.
3. Science and Medicine. Sleep disorder clinics and clinicians are
on the rise, though dream specific research is on the decline. The
focus here is on problems with sleep and some work can then be
done with dreams through the backdoor of nightmares and other
dream related sleep issues.
4. Religion. As Ron L. Hubbard once said to the editor of Analog
Magazine, "Heck, all the money is in religion!" There has yet to
be a Church of Dreams, but I suspect we will see them in the
21stCentury. More often, pastors and priests and ministers take up
dreamwork as an adjunct to pastoral counseling. Note for instance
the success of Jeremy Taylor, who is a Unitarian minister and now
has a full workshop and dream tours schedule. However, this came
after 20 or more years in the trenches. Read what he has to say in
the article below about becoming a non-traditional dreamworker.
Non-denominational dreamwork is becoming more popular as self
improvement often includes dreamwork an spirituality.
5. Lucid Dreams. This seems to be almost its own category of
dreamwork. Stephen Laberge has done the most to make lucid dream
technology, science and psychology a life's profession. The topic
continues to draw lots of attention. Still, because the skill
takes so much discipline to achieve, the seminars, workshops and
technology associated with lucid dreaming remains somewhat
esoteric and limited.
6. Anthropology. Many people in the dream field are
anthropologists. They study not only what other cultures have to
say about dreams and dreaming, but our own as well. They look at
how the dream and dream interpretations function in the culture
and what the mean to the individual in this context.
------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------
Educational Needs of a Dreamworker
Courses specifically. (Well, some of these you might have to get
outside of most institutions):
1. Jungian psychology. Get a lot of this. Read all you can on your
own. You might want to start with Jung's memoirs, Memories, Dreams
and Reflections. But I also like the illustrated Man and his
Symbols. I don't think there is a richer system of dreamwork on
the earth., and most of what is used today in groups and by
individuals stems from the work of the Jungians.
2. Other psychologies: Ask for the basics and history. Freud,
Adler, Jung, Maslow, Sullivan, Erikson, even Skinner. But also
look into alternative psychological practices as well, such as the
gestalt school and Frederich Perls, the process theorists Arnold
Mindel and Eugene Gendlin, the dreamwork of Montegue Ullman, and
the critiques of dreamwork by James Hillman. Try to get as close
to having a session with them as possible. That is, try to get
hands-on knowledge of these practices. Obviously this isn't
possible for many as they are dead, but move from the
generalizations about them to finding out what an hour with them
was actually like, what a weekend seminar transfers in skills,
what a course with their students entails. If you can afford
therapy, try out different kinds of therapy yourself. It is VERY
important to get as close to first hand experience as possible. If
you get deeply into psychotherapy already, but not getting enough
dreamwork, I find the Object Relations therapies quite interesting
and a way of bringing forward classical psychotherapy. Kohut and
self-psychology forms a bridge between object relations and human
potential and wholeness oriented therapies.
I highly recommend Raymond J. Corsini's Current Psychotherapies
for a quick journey into several types of therapies at the
experiential level.. Fossage and Loew put together a comparison of
dream therapies in Dream Interpretation, A comparative Study
second ed 1987. Its a little dry, but interesting. A more exciting
new comparison is Anthony Shafton's Dream Reader. Also, Gayle
Delaney has a good comparison dream book called New Directions in
Dream Interpretation.
3. Anthropology. Much of dreamwork has a cultural component.
Exposure to alternative cultures allows for a wider grasp of
individual issues and offers a unique way to find a context for
dreams. On dreams & anthropology, read Barbara Tedlock's (1987).
Dreaming: Anthropological and Psychological Interpretations.
Cambridge
University Press. Also, Devereux, George (1969). Reality and
Dream: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian. Garden City, NY: Anchor
Books
4. Literature. I feel that getting the sense of what writing and
literature is about has helped me with dreams. Interpreting
stories is something the fields share in common, and they enhance
one another. Dreams are often interpreted using literary
criticism's techniques, not only the simple dynamic structures of
plot and character, but the more elaborate philosophies of
criticism with investigate the psychological and political forces
in all narratives. In Dreams, See Jones, Richard (1979). The Dream
Poet. Cambridge, MA: Schenkman Publishing Company and States, Bert
O. (1988). Rhetoric of Dreams. London: Cornell University Press.
5. Religion and Mythology: This could be under anthropology or
literature as well. Both religious studies and mythology look at
stories that struggle with the creation or understanding of the
meaning and value of life. Be sure to read Joseph Campbell's The
Masks of God. There are several in the series, all great. I would
read Mircea Eliade's The History of Religious Ideas as well, also
a kind of mythologically based text. Push through on religious
studies to the esoteric/ mystic side of the religion. We hear a
lot of horror stories about Islam in the West, but we rarely hear
about the fabulous Sufi traditions. Again, be sure to check out
Carl Jung on his rendition of Christianity and Western religions.
6. Philosophy: while philosophy has done very little in its
investigation of the world of ideas to explore dreams, I find it
invaluable in the understanding of dream techniques and where they
are coming from. All forms of interpretation are motivated by
other ideas and powers. To the degree that we learn to be
conscious and aware of these, we won't as often fall prey to being
the victim of the idea. Also, being able to deeply question the
assumptions and categories we live by is very similar to a lot of
dreamwork which does the same.
7. Science. Understanding the functions of dreaming used to be
clearly separated into those who wanted a clear biological answer
and those who wanted a psycho-spiritual answer. Now the fields mix
and blend and having a good background in biology, physiology,
chemistry, and so on, can help in sorting out the psychological
from the physical. We used to think about schizophrenia, for
example, in moral terms. Something was wrong with the person in
that they failed to use their will power to come up to snuff and
therapy involved getting them back on the right road of consensus
reality. Now we know that there are terrible chemical imbalances,
many genetically informed. Therapy may still involve helping the
person adapt to reality, but it no longer assumes the person is
*trying* to be weird. In dreamwork, we may make use of a nightmare
to investigate some deep soulful path, but its also important to
check out the physiological components and influences. The more
science we have, the better we can refer these clients to
appropriate care.
Graduate Programs
Advanced degrees in dreaming are rare but available. JFKU has a
Dream Certificate Program for its Consciousness Studies program
and some non-accredited institutes like Haden offer advanced
training. The Association for the Study of Dreams offers CEU
Continuing Education Units at its conferences. Some graduate
schools will allow for creatively designed advanced degrees in
dreams. See for example John F. Kennedy University (JFKU)
http://www.jfku.edu/site/?pg=holistic_is_dream as well as the
Saybrook Institute. http://www.saybrook.edu/ and Pacifica Graduate
Institute http://www.pacifica.edu/
For other organizations with graduate level courses, see the ASD
Graduate Studies List and the DreamGate Library Education page.
http://www.asdreams.org/subidxedugraduatestudies.htm
In summary, a career in dreamwork is usually attached to a career
in another field. And yet, the well-rounded dreamworker will have
some experience and knowledge in all of these fields.

I have these dreams about having a baby and taking care of them.
The one dream I had I had just had a baby and it was a small as a
newborn kitten and I was breast feeding it and loving and taking
care of him. The other dream I had was a guy that I work with
asked me if I had any kids and I told him no and he says that I
will in the next year. I ask him why and he says because he is
Miss Cleo's cousin. For people who don't know who that is it's a
fortune teller. I don't want kids anytime soon so why do I keep
dreaming about it. Is it a way that my body's trying to tell me
that I am pregnant or something?

boyfriend and we had been together for 4 years. It was good I was
happy, but I was still young. I was going to tell him that night
but I ended up forgetting about it, I know hard thing to forget
about but he always did that to me. After the dream I found out
that I had a mis-carriage. I never told my parents or JBG about
it. I have had this on my mind for about 2 years. Yes, me and JBG
are still together, but I am no longer able to have any children
for the rest of my life because of a stomach disease.

Subject: The flying dream
I had this dream a long time ago, but I remember it like it
was.....Yesterday. I'm flying. I see the ocean down below
sometimes in these kind of dreams, for some reason I lose this
ability, like gravity is bringing me down. For some reason I am
not afraid. I splash into the ocean. I realize I have a new
ability. I am encapsulized in an air bubble of oxygen, and the
oxygen is creating bubbles that rise to the surface. This bubble
of oxygen extends out to about two and a half to three feet all
the way around me. What does this mean? As a note I have had
dreams of me being underwater, and I have the ability to breathe
underwater. This is so real that when I awake I feel as though if
I jumped into a pool I might actually be able to perform this
feat.

The thing is her boyfriend is skinny and pale and kind of dorky
and im not a least bit attracted to him. And that's not how the

the problem with these dreams its always about my littler sister
and my boyfriend. Honestly im not at all attracted to him. I just
don't understand these dreams.

Subject: End of worlds, anti-christ, sanctuary with the elders,
weird
dream..
My dream, strange, with much Christian mythology. I was in my
room, sitting by the steps, my boyfriend was lying, sleeping in my
bed. A ghost kept bugging me, knocking into me. It started
throwing things across my room. I went down stairs to tell my mum
and it blew up the light bulbs. The world began to fold, as if the
universe had been written on a piece of paper, and some one
wrinkled it up and caught it on fire. Reality folded, the laws of
the universe began to break. My whole world soon ceased to exist.
The worlds, or universes, were all interconnected, all hooked
together in a means that no human mind could comprehend. As out
world collapsed mum and I wound up in a house in a parallel
universe, were we were not alone. There was another girl there
whom could see ghosts in the house. I told her I could not see
them, but I could feel them, we went up stairs and I described the
two ghosts.
Later that world collapsed and I ended up in the sanctuary with
the elders. They had created it when the worlds first started
falling, as a means for any who could to escape the fate of not
existing. The ghost I had seen earlier, were actually the elders,
as I could see them through the veil between worlds. A zombie girl
came up to the elders, with two other zombie's behind her. They
were attacking not only us, but her too. I chased them off, but
not her for some reason. A feeling I had, a memory of some thing
that had not happened yet.
She went into labor, she told me that the other zombies would kill
her child, as would any who found it. I remembered the devil
taking her, as she had been in the other world, and raping her.
Marking her on the inside. I remembered it as if it had happened
to me, I was like that. I took her child in my arms and studied
it, I knew it was the anti-Christ, yet, it was a baby. It did not
look to healthy, with spider veins on it's head and pale skin, but
I felt love for it. I felt love for all things, both living and
dead, I was not sure which this child was.
In the sanctuary reality was mixed up, scrambled as worlds around
it came crashing down. The child grew up, the elders and I raised
it, tell it was about eleven. I was me, my age did not change, I
did not change. I was eternal. I took care of the boy, and now he
was getting older, I studied him. He had grey, white, and blond
long strait hair. His eyes were blue-grey, and he was about my
height.
The devil could not enter the sanctuary, but he had surrounded it,
so that none could leave. He could enter in the form of a dragon,
but he could do nothing to us. Just fly and scurry around. There
were portals to, well any world that was still in existence. The
devil had crushed many worlds as his "hell" had grown, but there
were many still unscathed. A girl, the Devil's son, and I wanted
to leave, but the portals were all stuck going to hell. You would
enter one, only to realize to late, that you had the wrong
destination.
I looked at the ring on my left ring finger, it was red, with
diamonds around it, the boy's(anti-Christ) was blue. I said to
him, "he's your father, your the only one strong enough to keep
the gate way open. So I combined my being with his, as one can do
when reality hits the wall, and we concentrated on a green, grassy
place.
I remember thinking, that he was the devils son, and I was a, me.
That we were balances against each other. I loved him.
The new world at first was in the 1500's, or there about's, but
time quickly warped us into present time. I remembered that the
girl would get me enslaved so I ran to her and told her to stay
out of sight. Then the boy and I entered a building on the harbor
by a bunch of speed and sail boats. There was a boy there named
Damion. (Real person.) Who was dancing, I started dancing with
him. For a moment I remembered my boy friend, the feel of him as
we embraced each other. Then I reminded my self that he had never
existed, now. (Once a world ceases, so does all that ever was in
it, for time is not a one way river.) We danced, and he whispered,
"I want to sex you." (I know, weird.) For some reason I agreed,
but that never happed because I woke up.
I fell asleep again shortly, and was on top of a house boat where
the building had been. The boy was getting paranoid, for every one
knew who he was and feared him. He thought I was some one else, so
he stabbed me through the roof with a broken piece of mirror 3
times. I rolled off the side, then went into the boat. I ,with no
fight from him, took the broken mirror pieces and threw them out
side. Then he ran from me. He ran across the ice, half luring me
out onto the ice, half confused him self. He fell through, I ran
over the tops of boats, then dived in after him, amongst the
confusion of hitting the cold water and not knowing which way was
up I woke up.
So what do you guys think?

had been taken away and institutionalized for drug use and was
back trying to reclaim her home. When I woke up I was back in the

I am in a town spending the night. Me and my wife are trying to
squat in a house where the owner hasn't been there for a while. We
worry about the owner showing up in the middle of the night, or a
home invasion in the middle of the night. The house is covered
with tar paper. There is a large area ground level basement
because the slope of the lot is such that it needs to be high so
the one upper floor is level. The basement area is covered in tar
paper also. There are balconys on 3 sides on the N. E. S. the road
running N. S. at the W. side of the house. Through out the dream I
am seeing the house in my minds eye from about 200' N. and 200' up
from a N. W. N. angle down. The place seems very lonely and is on
the S.E. side of a small town which seems laid out like Eugene
Oregon but smaller, and the field the house is in seems like the
field at the S.E. side of town in Canyonville Oregon. I leave and
go into town. There are these people who are part of a secret
society, 40% of the people in town are in the society. I meet 2 of
them and they are into me being part of the society. We wander
around town and we and I me a couple and they take me to a place
where I will have my alter. There is a place which has all these
alters which are going up the hill in a long triangular piece of
land which is along the inside of a spur coming down from a hill
with cypresses atop it and on the other side is a residential area
of small house like left over from logging days. I am actual
inheriting the alter from a previous member. The alter is a large
Jaguar with black around empty eyes. I have not opened the eye yet
but they where previously open by its last owner. The from feet
have a wobbly look to them and I will have to brace them up with
foundation wedges. I will have to open the eye* which seems to be
some future initiation. I say how that I have dreamt about the
alter in the past and here it is. This seems to weird out the
guy's girl friend because she isn't supposed to know about the
society. We go to a small mall directly E. 1 Block. We go up the
escalator to the second floor and sit down next to where the
escalator ends. The woman is all weirded out by my mention of the
prophetic dream. I ask her,' You go to church right?' 'What church
do you go to?' I am guessing Baptist. Then I ask her,' You believe
in god?' 'Well, I don't have a problem with that'. She relaxes. I
go to a place where the society meets, which is under this
artificial mountain**. There is a long hall with tables of solid
dark umber timbers. There are about 10 tables*** each orientated
N. and S. And the great hall stretches E and W. The hall is of all
rough cut granite stone. I am at the second table from the W. end,
which the first table seems to
have all the Moderators. I turn around and notice all the guys
there
have these long beards****.I think of Sea Life here and that these
are
just all the people in sea life. Some how I think Torin Atkinson^
is here
some where also I joke that I am going to have to let my beard
grow if I stick around. I have my normal short beard that is black
in the dream and I have that quasi Anton LaVey look. I am wearing
a medieval grey outfit like I am Machiavelli's Prince. I turn back
to the main temple and they ask me what think of speaking later?
As if I would be afraid of talking and I tell them, 'I can go on
and on' (as this being one of the most evolved dreams I have ever
had). They ask me if I mind doing Magic and attending a Black
Mass^^ at lest once a week. I tell them I have no problem.
Go in the other room and I am looking up at the ceiling, which is
150' above, and there is a movie being projected up there. There
is a gurder and on the bottom on the gurder and onto the Ceiling
are Elder Thing Glyphs^^^which represent constellations. I heard
weird and beautiful music, which is full of strange emotions. I am
sitting there and think of Torin and how for some this stuff is
just all art. I start wondering if the society isn't really
Occultists but all artists.
I wake up, then go back to sleep:
I am on a dirt road, which is left by a caterpillar tractor
through the forest called a skid road. The road runs perfectly E.
and W. and if about 14' wide. Jennifer and Vhoorl have a house
there and the 14' by 14' skid road is their house in Seatle.Vhoorl
is a member of the local society. I am spending the night and my
room is part of the skid road just west of their room/house. There
are deciduous tree, which are about 15 years old on both sides of
the skid road, and the ground cover is Oregon Grape and ferns. The
road, my room is damp reddish blonde dirt. Just to the W. of my
room is a graveyard with ragged versions of C. The graveyard is in
another 14' by 14' square but it is also about 200' by 200'. I
decide to dowse the graveyard to find the positive energy to
communicate with^~I see an energy which is in the S.E.
corner^^~which is a pink glow beneath the ragged stones. There is
an evil feminine (Ku) energy on the Left side as I dowse, and this
is the exact N. Half of the graveyard. Jennifer isn't really into
all the occult stuff going on. I go over to the graveyard and lay
down with my head to the W. I am going to sleep on to of the
graves and commune with the dead this way. The male and female
graves, which are under the whole of the cemetery, are under all
the little graves and I feel the evil of the guy's dead wife. I go
to a room off the skid row and I am sharing the room with Vhoorl
and his uncle who looks like the giant in Harry Potter. I leave
this to go join this meeting of the society. They give me a batik
of Krishna and I am carrying it on my back sown to a robe. I get
in front of the Temple/Meeting place and I start chanting Shrii
Suktam. I enter the room and I am doing my ultra hardcore Vedic
chanting thing. I start messing up but plow through it anyway.
There now all the guys with beards are dressed like Druids. They
have staffs and these burnished copper plates on their foreheads
with rough white silk acting a means to make a kind of headband. I
walk up to the front where there are these 3 table and on the
table to the right is a table covered with swords on horizontal
sword stands and I find some nun chucks with a 3rd triangular
piece in the middle and the 3 pieces are of bamboo. I am looking
for an alter or niche to hang the Krishna picture but all there is
a table in the middle of the room. When I wake the first thing I
think of is how I am glade waking up has saved me from all the
embarrassment of slaughtering the goddess spell anymore than what
I did before the society.

Subject: 5-15 Dream Sequence
As usual thoughts welcome! This series kind of bugged me.
I had some bizarre and very vivid dreams in this segment.
Partly I dreamt I went to Romania to find my boyfriend. (I have a
love interest in Bucharest) At first no one told me where he was,
then a man told me that he was in an asylum, he'd had a lobotomy,
and the man wanted to hire me to take care of him. I was taken to
my boyfriend and he was sitting on this cot acting like an
imbecile in a room but kind of like a cell ... I wanted to take
the job so I could sneak him out of there and make him well ...
It was just ... wicked ... although the scenery was very vivid and
it was nothing I'd seen in any film or picture. There was a bridge
and beside it was a waterfall, kind of like a fountain but was
natural, it was very lush and serene, I was enchanted by the
place. The building where he was being kept was immense ... very
old and open but huge with very beautiful furnishings and vases,
paintings, etc., but it was extremely huge.
Then after that dream faded I dreamt I was in an apartment with
two other women, and the roof was leaking badly and some globs of
yellow sulfurous stuff had been glopped on the ceiling but the
roof was leaking in places other than that and a man came to look
at it and one of these glops dropped off onto my face and into my
mouth.
Pretty freaky ... and the first part out of left field I've no
idea where that came from. Thanks for any input!

Subject: Re-Occuring Dream about same person
HI, I am new to this group. I keep having dreams over and over
again about the same person. I think that I dream about him
because I have feelings for him. He is a friend of mine, and he
knows how I feel. In my dreams I am so happy and complete and
just an unexplainable feeling of bliss. When I wake up I am
overwhelmed with guilt and am almost in tears because of these
dreams. I am married and feel bad about having these dreams all
the time.
In my dream tonight, still haven't gone back to sleep from waking
up during it, I was waiting to see if a war/end of world attack
that I knew may be getting ready to start was actually going to
happen. I was walking down the road by my friend's (the guy who I
dream about) house. He had an unusually long swimming pool and I
got in and instead of walking down the sidewalk like you usually
would continuing my walk I got in the pool and started swimming.
It was a very narrow long pool. He got in and swam to me, I turned
around and went under water and pretended I didn't see him. He
started talking to me and then we got on a bench I put my head in
his lap and was hiding waiting to see if the end ( I think the
world was waiting for a bomb or nuclear weapon to be launched at
us) It never did. We decided that we needed sleep as we had been
up all night. He walked me home to my mother's house. I don't live
there, so that was odd to me. We didn't do alot of talking during
the ride back before he walked me to my mother's. But I do
remember the feeling of absolute happiness, warmth, and love in
this dream. As we were walking he was telling me he needed to get
some sleep. I told him no one was home at my mom's then I woke up.
Any insight or comments would be greatly!! welcomed. I am troubled
by this it has been going on for a couple of years now. Thank You,
Andrea

Subject: birds and planes??
Hi there all! Last night I had the strangest dream. Any
interpretations would be great! Bear in mind, I try to stay away
from the media...so I cannot contribute any part(s) of my dreams
to t.v., newspaper, etc...This is what I remember: There were 2
birds. They were supposedly pigeons. (Thinking back on it
now..they looked like parakeets to me!) Anyway, my husband is
there and starts cutting them up for dinner. I think that is
disgusting and I am horrified!
Then it jumps to this:
I have a design for a plane. When it's built it will actually look
like an oversized kite, but it is flyable. I am using tarot cards
to build it. Any ideas? Thanks, Kelly

Subject: freeway dream
I am writing this again because I didn't see my message posted. I
have dreamt more than once that I am driving and I come upon an
intersection and I am not sure which way Im supposed to turn and I
always turn the wrong way. Usually it is two options that I have
and this has happened in the streets and in the freeway. But on
this occasion I was driving on the freeway and I was attempting to
merge onto the 10 freeway (CA). It was to the left of me and I was
not able to make it on time and I took the far right. But on this
occasion I had three options and like usual I made a wrong turn.
Then out of nowhere I see a lot of people on the side of the
freeway as if they were waiting for the subway or metro and I
pulled over to ask if this freeway I had taken would lead me to
the 10 freeway and she did so I continued on it. What I find weird
of this dream is that now I am faced with three options rather
than the usual 2 can anyone give me some insight?

very different.ON one side og the street was a dead end. Well, we
droped them off and i was worried about the time cuz it was like
7:30 p.m. the time my dad would get home 4rm work he would go
crazy if he got homw and did not find the van so we left. So it
was me and my siters in the car. Erica took the dead end street
and we had to turn.I remember seeing some kind of dog that kept
barking at us. As we took the other street Erica decides to get
out of the car. There was this house that looked like it was turned
into some kind of clothing store. On the other end was a clear door
in which erica went though well at leat it looked like it i was
starting to panic cuz she did not come back so i went to seach 4
her.Realizing she was no where in sight i screamed her name and
was heading into a big time panic attack. Not only that as i get

Subject: freeway dream
Its been more than once that I dream that I am driving. The last
time I dreamt that I was driving on the freeway and and I was
trying to merge to the 710 freeway (California) and I wasn't sure
if I was getting on the right way and instead of going to the
right I took a left and it was on an incline and it was the wrong
way. This past dream I was driving on the freeway and I came upon
the decision of going in either three directions and I was not
sure which way to go. I tried to merge left to get on the 10
freeway and I wasn't able to and made a turn to the left which was
the wrong way. Then what is weird is that the freeway sort of
turned into like a train station and I pulled in to get
information as to if the freeway that I was on would eventually
get me to the 10 and she told me it would so I continued on it.
Everytime I dream that I am driving I make a wrong turn but it
usually is either a left or right this time it was three options.
Can anyone give me some insight on this dream?

dream_title: UNDERSTANIDNG A MADMAN
dream_date: 05/24/04
dreamer_name: ANNIE H
dream_text: It begins when I am at a social gathering and there
appears to be someone interested in talking to me. I ignore the
man and address to everyone that I am going to sleep. It is when I
am going to sleep that two strangers approach me and warn me about
the man who wanted to talk to me. They reveal to me that he is a
madman and that it all began during his childhood. I am taken back
to when the madman was a child and it is as if I am witnessing it
firsthand the man's childhood. He is about 6-8 yrs. old and
playing on a building's rooftop with some friends. He then pushes
one of his friend's off the roof intentionally and I am witnessing
the friend's fall firsthand. Obviously his friend dies and at that
moment the young madman jumps off the roof but nothing happens to
him and he is completely unharmed and that is where it all began.
dream_comments: I am not sure what this dream is suppose to mean
but it left me scared, because I have never had such a gruesome
and detailed dream that I could remeber. If you know what this
dream might mean please e-mail me for it is bothering immensely.

dream_text: My husband and I had the same dream last night about
each other dying. In my dream he was struggling to stay alive, and
I was telling him that God was waiting for him and that he should
go and be free. He finally did quit breathing and he did die in my
dream. Also, I don't know what caused his death. This dream
started when I was at his side and he was already trying to tell
him to not be afraid.
dream_comments: This dream was very disturbing, and I woke up
greiving. I called my husband at work, and told him how much I
love him, and he said he had had a dream last night that I had
died, then I told him I had a similar dream. Does this mean one of
us or both are in some kind of trouble?

dream_text: i had this dream the other night about one of my
friends- Claire. the thing with her is that she's really not
right- something about her makes the rest of us really cringe, and
she's kinda strange 'cos she keeps copying us- buying the same
clothes as us etc. well anyways, i dreamt our 'gang' were all on
holiday together abroad. we got into some kind of trouble and were
running away from someone, but Claire couldn't keep up. eventually
she was quite far behind, and got stuck behind us and we took a
lift up to the next level of the building we were in, and Claire
didn't get there before the doors shut. when we got to the next
level, i was in my school. i tried to ring her mobile to see if
she was ok, but instead it connected me to a sort of 'dial-a-
magazine' line, and Claire was on the line, also ringing in,
asking for advice on how to get your hair to do what you want it
too. (none of us like her hair as it's very full and frizzy.)
any ideas what all this is about?

dream_text: I dreamed that there was something inside my vagina
and it had been there for several years and it was bothering me
with discomfort. i stuck my fingers in my vagina and felt the tip
of something, i told my husband "i feel something and i am going
to pull it out". i grabbed a hold of it and pulled on it and it
was hurting as i was pulling it out as it was embedded inside my
vaginal wall. When i finished getting it out it was a live snake.
it was moving back and forth hissing trying to escape. It bit my
husband who was standing in front of me and it tried to bite me
too. My husband yelled to me to kill it and i grabbed it by the
neck and strangled it.(my husband is afraid of snakes) The snake
had thick black blood coming out its mouth and tail. I showed it
to my mother and we all stood over the dead snake. We were all
shocked.
dream_comments: This dream has bothers my so much. It is so
strange and was so real. The snake was about thirty inches long
and was alive inside of me. So weird.

sudden, she jumps off the bridge...at that second...I was in her
body...struggling to not hit the ground--but I too stood from the
other bridge and watched her fall...I hit the ground and it went

once, I can see two things happening...not just see...but actually
feel and experience two lives at once---BE TWO SEPARTATE PEOPLE AT
THE SAME SECOND....This happened about six seven months ago...
