An Excerpt From The Lucid Dream Exchange
By Lucy Gillis
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
Ok, so you've learned to have lucid dreams. Want to have more? In
LDE 29 Harry Bosma shared with us some information about his on-
line lucidity course "THE MORE LUCID DREAMS PROJECT". For more
information on this project and others you can contact Harry
through his website at www.alquinte.com.
(Incidentally, I participated in this project and enjoyed it very
much. And yes, I did get more lucid dreams!)
Getting More Lucid Dreams
(c) Harry Bosma
This is a short report on the More Lucid Dreams project. During
five weeks, starting on July 26th 2003, an online group worked at
getting more lucid dreams. As the members of the group chose to
submit many dreams, this also became a unique dream sharing
experience. We witnessed many interesting psi dreams in the group,
especially mutual dreaming. However, here I will only
report about the main aim of the group: getting more lucid dreams.
Background
Sometimes it seems there is more interest in lucid dreaming than
in, for example, dream interpretation. Ever since the invention of
the World Wide Web, there have been web pages about lucid
dreaming. The Usenet discussion group alt.dreams had so many
topics about lucid dreaming, that the alt.dreams.lucid group had
to be created. After Usenet, email and web discussion groups
became popular. Again, lucid dreaming showed up amazingly often.
What always surprised me is that although interest is high, many
complain that it is hard to get lucid dreams. As I didn't mind
getting more lucid dreams myself, I decided to organize an online
group aimed at getting more lucid dreams.
Small Steps Approach
The approach I used is based on several ideas:
The first one is that people generally have little time, need
their sleep, and prefer simple exercises above difficult ones. For
these reasons I used Castaneda's hand gazing as the basic
exercise. Other suggested exercises also needed minimal time, and
could be easily integrated into the daily routine.
The second idea is that it always helps to break a difficult task
up into various smaller objectives. There are many definitions of
lucid dreaming. I used the most basic one, being that one is aware
of the dream. Everything else I presented as separate indications
of special dreams. Additionally, I also offered two types of pre-
lucid dreams. As a result, the chance of being able to score a
dream as special in some way or another, was fairly high. After
five weeks of dreams, this also gave some insight into whether
indications of special dreams are related to awareness of the
dream.
The third idea is that it helps to combine lucid dreaming with
more awareness during the day. It makes no sense to strive for
more awareness during dreams, while still running on automatic
pilot during the day. This fits nicely together with the first
point of integrating lucid dreaming with the usual day routine in
a way that doesn't require extra time.
For various reasons I asked potential participants to incubate a
dream. One thing I hoped to discover was if there could be certain
resistances against lucid dreaming. That didn't seem to be the
case, so I didn't pay much attention to it during the project.
The Group
I wanted 20-25 members for the group. There were 22. However, two
never showed up, two others dropped out early. The project ran in
the middle of summer, so it happened that some members disappeared
for a week or so due to vacations.
Almost all of the incubated dreams showed an optimistic view of
the project. Quite a few had an incubated dream that was lucid. I
have to add that many members of the first group were experienced
with lucid dreaming. The group was supposed to be for both novice
lucid dreamers and somewhat experienced lucid dreamers, but
absolute novices turned out to be in a small minority.
As part of the program, I encouraged members to submit dreams,
lucid or not. The group knew how to take a hint, and submitted
some 365 dreams in five weeks time. Including comments on the
dreams and other discussions, this means that keeping up with the
group must have been challenging. I'd considered slowing the group
down at some point, but got the impression that most members had
made the decision that they wanted to do it this way.
>From the 365 dreams, a total of 145 were lucid. A few strong
lucid dreamers in the group pulled up the average, but even so it
still is an impressive number.
Conclusions
As I'm going to host a second group, I only want to give a few
general conclusions. Besides, the group is too small to discover
anything about, for example, the effectiveness of particular
exercises.
At the end of the five weeks I asked group members to fill in an
evaluation form. A large majority of the participants spent a lot
of time on the project. Looking at this large sub group, there
were a few who were already having lucid dreams often. They didn't
see any improvement in frequency, but appreciated how they learned
to do more with their lucid dreams. The not so frequent lucid
dreamers did almost all report an increase in the number of lucid
dreams. The member who was less satisfied about the number of
lucid dreams during the project, really did quite well on her own.
It just happened that this first group attracted many people who
had had lucid dreams before.
Quite a few members remarked that the group did wonders for their
dream recall. That may be true, but I also noted that not everyone
seemed to have that luck. Which is why I will continue to advise
potential members of the second group to work on their dream
recall.
After this first group I wonder whether there is a correlation
between dream recall and lucid dreams. Dreamers who submitted more
or longer dreams, seem to have a higher percentage of lucid
dreams. There were a few exceptions to that rule, and with the
group being small, it's hard to say whether this means anything.
As a last observation, I was impressed by the stability of the
dream environment of some of the dreamers, especially the dreamers
who submitted many lucid dreams. I've read authors who say one
starts with awareness, then works on stability. Somehow I got the
idea that awareness and stability may be two sides of the same
coin.
Second Group
>From the beginning I've wanted to do two groups. The second group
should start on November 15th. I'm looking forward to hosting the
second group, and to comparing the results. I haven't yet written
about some of the special exercises, so as not to spoil the
surprise for members who also read LDE. I hope to write about
these special exercises in a next issue.

Who Do We Ignore When We Interpret A Dream?
© 2004 Linda Lane Magallon
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
It's the same 'ole dichotomy. In this corner, we have the
scientist who focuses on dream stimuli and claims that dreams have
no meaning. In that corner, there is the psychologist who claims
that a focus on stimuli robs the dream of meaning. Why, oh, why,
does it have to be the battle of the either-or?
I believe I need both. Knowing what induces, triggers or
stimulates a dream does *not* rule out an awareness of meaning and
significance for me. In fact, I don't think that a method or
theory (either stimulus-based or symbol-based) that ignores the
life of the dreamer can be very meaningful. In order to explain
flying dreams, I have come up with a schema that differentiates
between stimulus connection and the sort of symbolic
interpretation that's bereft of connection. It may seem ironic,
but the interpretation of flight needs to be grounded before it
can soar.
First, I present an example of a symbolic interpretation plucked
from a source that doesn't bother to look at the dreamer's life
for correlation. Second, I show what stimulated the dream. Third,
I put daytime event together with dream stimuli to produce an
explanation that includes both.
However, my search for meaning doesn't stop there. For me, the
significance of an event involves its total context: past,
present...and future. I might come up with an interpretation that
satisfies me as I contemplate my dream while curled up in bed. But
it isn't truly significant for me unless it *changes* me. It's
what I do after I get out of bed that's the deciding factor. It's
the follow-up that provides the finishing touch.
Here's some examples.
________________________
A) Dream: The wind kisses my face as I soar over the city skyline.
1. Symbolic Interpretation (Freudian):
-- A concealed wish for an orgasm. Now, let's talk about the
Oedipus Complex.
-- There is little attempt at correlation with a dreamer's life.
In my opinion, the idea that everyone has an Oedipus Complex or
that every flying dream involves a concealed wish for sex has not
been adequately demonstrated. It's a belief-based hypothesis.
2. Stimuli: I won $5 in the lottery. Because it was warm night, I
had the fan on.
-- Day residue, emotional: My exuberant response to winning the
lottery.
-- Current event, tactile: The passage of air over my skin from
the blowing fan.
The still-present echo of exuberation from the day combines with
the nighttime tactile sensation of flowing air to evoke a picture
of soaring, sensual flight. The hypothesis that emotions and touch
influence dreams has been borne out by lab experimentation and
case studies.
3. Significance:
Winning small amounts of money gives me a "high," but it's not one
that lasts long or can be counted on to be repeated. What else can
I do that can give me more substantial exuberance, one that I
value "highly"? Like joy?
4. Follow Up:
Emotion plus sensory movement turned out to be a fruitful avenue
of exploration. I came to realize that every time I finished
writing an article, I had a sense of satisfaction that I could
turn it into glee if I ran up the stairs like a kid. Allowing my
Inner Child an opportunity to indulge in that sort of activity
resulted in more flying dreams.
________________________
B) Dream: A huge black cat hovers in the air over a young blonde
girl.
1. Symbolic Interpretation (Jungian):
-- The Shadow is threatening my Anima. Now, let's go on a
encyclopedic search for examples of Animas and Shadows and felines
throughout mythic history.
-- No attempt at correlation with dreamer's life; belief-based
hypothesis.
2. Stimuli: Several years ago, my car's paint job had been ruined
by the spray that was dropped by helicopters as they were dusting
for med-flies. Today, I sprayed my hair, then went to play with
one of our cats, Endora, who scratched me. I didn't wash the wound
and later wondered about the wound being infected by either the
hair spray or the cat. Endora had been atop a ledge, peering down
on my daughter below. Endora was preparing to jump because she'd
had enough of the two of us and wanted to escape. I didn't want
her to let her go.
-- Past visual memory and associated concept: Overflying
helicopters = threat to my car, which protects me like a skin from
a spray.
-- Day residue, tactile: Hair spray and scratched skin.
-- Day residue, visual: The cat, my daughter and me.
Pictures from the distant past plus associated concepts are
combined with echoes of daytime events, both tactile and visual.
My dreaming mind often ignores daytime inanimate objects (like
cars and walls) and concentrates on the animate ones, instead.
Thus, animals and people (including me) can seem to "hover" in my
dreams. In this case, the background prop (the ledge) didn't have
enough energy to etch an impression on my inner picture screen.
3. Significance:
I realized that Endora needed some time off from our overwhelming
attention. I value dreams for pointing out relationship issues.
4. Follow-up: The next day, I was more respectful of her space.
________________________
C) Dream: I flew at head level, watching the scenery go by.
1. Symbolic Interpretation (If This Were My Dream technique):
-- "Flew" = "flu" or the feeling of an upset stomach.
-- "Head level" = "a level headed response to a dilemma."
-- To the members of a dream group, I read a report that included
both my dream and notes on the daytime event that preceded it. The
hypothesis that my dream contained these particular puns was based
solely on their associations between the dream and daytime event.
There was no attempt at correlation with me (the dreamer).
2. Daytime events: I was a passenger in a car that was swerving
along a winding road. I almost got car-sick until I opened the
window.
-- Day residue, tactile (interior): The queasy feeling.
-- Day residue, visual: The scenery passing by as I "flew" down
the highway.
I certainly did have the feeling of an upset stomach and some
people in the group claimed that I had a "level-headed" response
to my dilemma. But I had not written, "I flew," I'd actually
written, "I fly," because I always use the present tense to record
a dream. "Fly" was converted to "flew" by the members of a dream
group because, to them, the dream was past tense. Also, I rarely
use the phrase "level headed" in waking life, and have never
applied it to myself. I think the level of flight above the ground
relates directly to the height of my head as I "flew" down the
highway. Once again, an inanimate object, the car, was left behind
when my daytime event was transposed to dreamspace.
3. Significance: This is the reason why I find the "If this were
my dream" approach to dream interpretation to be so problematical.
It's not the group's dream. It's *my* dream. How come they weren't
paying attention to me? Why weren't they asking my opinion and
discovering my associations instead of projecting theirs?
4. Follow-up: At a succeeding meeting, I demonstrated the "dreamer
interview" method of interpretation to the group. This method does
pay attention to the dreamer.
________________________
As you can see, symbolic interpretation systems might acknowledge
the underlying stimulus. But more often, they ignore it in favor
of their own theory-story about the overt imagery. They interpret
the "movie" without paying attention to the dreamer's life or to
the dreamer's associations between dreams and waking life.
Now let's say, just for the sake of argument, that a dream has
*nothing* to do with a dreamer's waking life. So whose life does
it have to do with? Freud's? Jung's? The other members of the
dream group? Some nebulous something in the sky or under the sea?
You might contend that I'm being very ego-centric by linking
dreams with my mundane waking life. That I'm ignoring the larger
"meaning" of life. Are you surprised to know that I agree with
you? But probably not for the reason you think.
Contemporary dream theories often act as though they have a real
meaning, a real significance, a real realness. For instance, Jung
would have us treat his theory and the archetypal attributes of
his theory as "real." And not just real, universally real. That's
a pretty powerful claim to make. But I'd like to point out that
it's the waking ego who speculates and makes this claim. And who
gets left in the lurch? Anybody who lives in the land of the
dream, that's who.
Now, as far as this discussion goes, I don't care if you think
that a dream is a real reality of its own or not. Nor do I care if
you think there are significant others living there. Contemporary
dream theories tend to ignore this possibility. But what they do
acknowledge, even depend on, is that there is a self in the dream.
Granted, it may be an unconscious self, but it's a self,
nonetheless. So, at least one person lives in the land of dreams:
the dreaming self.
My question is very simple: if we want to understand the meaning
of the dream, why don't we consult the dreaming self? Well, Freud
and Jung seem to think that we do. But I think they confuse states
of consciousness.
Jung had plenty of altered state experiences (other than dreams)
in his life and his theory of archetypes basically comes from that
source. Freud suggested that the "meaning" of dreams could be
found by seeking answers in a state between waking and dreaming.
The actual in-the-dream-self is not supposed to be conscious. As
in, poor thing, it has no voice of its own. We, the great and
powerful Oz-egos (and our waking altered state cohorts), must
speak for the dreaming self because it can't speak for itself.
Wanna make a bet?
Well, I can understand that Freud and Jung didn't understand nor
appreciate lucid dreaming; its popularity didn't spark until after
their time. Thus, the idea that you can become aware enough to ask
the dream, to ask dream characters, questions (like "What does
this dream mean?") wouldn't have occurred to them. But the
practice of incubating a dream has long been known. The practice
of consulting the dream (as an oracle) has been around a long
time, too. Jung and Freud may have retained the latter, but they
ignored the former. I'd like to bring it back.
So here's a formula to consult the dream if you don't have lucid
dreams. You ask a question (like "What does that dream mean?" or
"What's your opinion about my interpretation of that dream?" or
even, "What do you think about this theory of dreams?"). Then, you
wait for a *dream* to respond. Not a waking visualization. Not a
waking free association. Not waking automatic writing or
channeling. You wait for a sleeping dream.
And that way, you can discover that your dreaming self has her
opinions, too. And that they don't necessarily correspond with
Jung's. Or Freud's. Or yours.
Or they might, after a fashion. For instance, I have discovered
that, like me, my dreaming self really enjoys puns. I don't mean
the puns that I discover when I'm awake and compare dreams with my
waking life. I mean that my dreaming self has made up and pointed
out and laughed at puns while I'm still dreaming. In the land of
dreams. Whether I'm lucid or not. The dream may be mine to
manipulate, but it's her life to live. And life is meaningful, in
and of itself.

The View from the Bridge
Candlemas Thoughts
Jean Campbell
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
Early in February, when we celebrated Candlemas, I began thinking
about some of the events of the past year. As a dream activist, I
had to recognize that we have done quite a lot over the past year
to...well, yes, change the world.
The Candlemas candle lighting for peace is an idea introduced to
us dreamers by Victoria Quinton, and she has a beautiful display
of Candlemas photos up at PeaceTraining.org
http://www.peacetraining.org/gallery/index.php
Diana Thompson commented to me in a private post: "I burned a
lilac candle, and asked for peace to begin. Thinking back, I
wondered if the world was always unpeaceful, and people were less
aware of it. So I didn't ask for peace to return, but to begin.
The candle had a white interior, lovely."
Diana's words were what got me thinking about peace and the dream
reality. I mean, personally, I tend to believe that the world is
coming into existence all around me, all the time...as compared
with a belief in linear time. So I think that what Diana says is
true. There is always un-peace to perceive and deal with, as well
as peace. It's a choice.
When I told my friend Lucy that, even though I'm very interested
in politics, I was seeing more and more need for political action
to take place in the contacts between people, in a very personal
sort of way, she quoted the Dalai Lama to me. She said he talks
of "inner disarmament."
My own idea is that we are building a world community...and, the
case for many of us is that we are building a world community of
dreamers. I was talking with Harry Bosma, who has done so much in
the past year to build community among dreamers by projects like
his More Lucid Dreaming project and the PsiAngels: lovely, fun,
free or inexpensive ways for dreamers to get together and just
have fun as well as get some work done. "I'm a bit of a reluctant
community builder. :-)" Harry said to me, but it seems to me that
he's done quite a job, despite his reluctance.
In many ways, I am in awe of all the things that we have
accomplished this year. Based on Jeremy Seligson's dream, Peace
Trains are making their way around the globe. Jeremy is talking
about creating picture books now, of trains children have made in
Turkey, Korea, New Zealand, the U.S., Australia, and other places.
NickCumbo has created an entire web site devoted to PeaceTraining,
www.peacetraining.org.
Through the work of the Aid for Traumatized children project,
packages have been purchased in Istanbul, shipped to Amman,
Jordan, and taken by car to Baghdad. In a matter of days we've
received photos back or Iraqui children smiling over the teddy
bears we sent. All because of dreams.
To me, the most amazing thing of all has been how, with the aid of
the Internet, the dream community is deepening. Several years
ago, I told my friend Kotaro, who lives in Tokyo, that when I was
a little girl, I always wanted to have a pen pal. In the days
before the Internet, there were little ads in the back of the
comic books I read, inviting kids to join pen pal clubs. I never
did, but I always cherished the idea of writing to someone who
lived in a world far away from mine. Now suddenly I find myself
exchanging correspondence with an educator who lives in a city
halfway around the world, which was recently bombed by troops from
my country.
In one of the pictures sent from the Season Arts School in
Baghdad, in the background of the picture, there is a woman
standing in the doorway, in the shadows, her arms crossed,
watching the teddy bear delivery. I read in her posture a certain
contempt, and I thought, "If that were me (if this were my dream?)
I would be very angry that people who invaded my country, who
maybe killed my husband or child, are now sending teddy bears."
Of course this is my projection, but it breaks my heart
nonetheless. I see no way out of this dilemma for myself except
to continue to reach out...with my hands, with my heart, and with
my dreams. I believe that, in the face of violence (and like
Diana I believe there has always been violence) my own dream is to
strengthen the community of dreamers, until we can agree that
conflicts can be resolved some other way than by mass destruction,
and that all people have the right to respect.
I'd like to give a special thanks to Kathy Kelly and the people
from Voices in the Wilderness, who connected us with the school in
Baghdad. On their web site http://www.serve.com/vitw/ Kathy and
others who were working in Iraq before the war to lift sanctions,
and who stayed through the bombing of Baghdad, write regular,
first person, reports of what they see in Iraq now. Kathy has
recently been sentenced to a term in federal prison for
"trespassing" at Fort Benning GA to protest the training school
for US elite "assassin" troops. This is a type of radical
pacifism which challenges me and always has. Sometimes I like to
say, "Well, I am just a dreamer, sitting at home by my computer."
In this regard, I am also looking at the community of psi
dreamers, which has continued to grow. Psi dreamers are not
necessarily dream activists, but there is certainly something
about having a precognitive dream that impels people to action.
After 9/11, I wrote a paper about dealing with precognitive
dreamer guilt. It's still available online Jean Campbell -
Dealing with Precognitive Dreamer Guilt
http://dreamtalk.hypermart.net/campbell/dreamer_guilt.htm
But it seems to me that the psi dreaming part of the dream
community has been growing by leaps and bounds, full of people
eager to see what might be possible with precognitive dreams. Now
let's talk about dreaming the world! There's no doubt in my mind
that people dream predictively some of the time...and that some
people are very talented at doing it. I'd love to see more people
refine the skills of psi...not just dreaming but awake too, since
it seems to me that this is one of the deepest points of
connection we have with others in the world. It has been both
gratifying and amazing to me to see mutual dreaming pairs
appearing on the Internet, like Joy and Ilkin, whose relationship
began with mutual dreaming even though they'd never met in the
waking world. To me, there is no better indication than this of
the connectedness we all share, and have the ability to refine.
I wanted to thank you all, my dreaming friends. When I asked
people to join me in a World Dreams Peace Bridge, I had no idea
where the bridge might lead, or if it would go anywhere at all.
What has developed is a landmark in dream space, a beautiful
bridge complete with river and healing Reservoir, a place that
people actually visit in their dreams. Who can ask for more in
life than to bring the dream forward into all of reality?

The Waves is a newsletter reporting on the explorations of the Sea
Life community. Sea Life, the main web forum at Dreampeace, aims
to bring together a circle of dreamers from around the globe,
collaborating in mutual dreaming adventures, and 'dreaming with
and for the earth itself'
Link: http://sealife.dreamofpeace.net
During the Resonant Moon, we participated in a project called 'The
Ocean Also Dreams'. Our dreaming and discussion kept us busy;
focusing upon meeting the creatures and the sea; and the question
of how we could go about improving their conditions.
Asked whether or not we could communicate with the sea creatures
in our dreams, Stathgar offered this response:
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
"Yes, I think it's at least possible. I think that life on land
(including us) evolved from what were once creatures of the sea,
so our feeling of connection to water and the ocean may be in part
due to some instincts and genetic traits still left over from
those sea creatures. If we have some sort of genetic knowledge of
sea creatures, dreams and the subconscious are probably the best
way to access it. Also, I've seen a good bit of evidence for
telepathy lately so perhaps in some way the sea creatures are
intelligent and able to communicate with us in our dreams."
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Sunwolf jumped in with a fascinating experience from 1990:
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
"I went to a channeling, where this woman was speaking about her
psychic work with dolphins and during the meeting, a dolphin
connected with me psychically and I went into a trance. My friends
took me home after the meeting and put me in bed. It was a male
dolphin. He showed me wondrous things, as I dreamed and was there
astrally, which I didn't know was possible, before that. The
dolphins have a vast library on the astral plane. They have about
50 words for 'Water', different types of water, warm, fast, cold,
etc. Also their word for 'God', 'Home', 'Family" and 'Water' all
had similar root word.
They showed me how they meditated, by turning with their tail
pointing upward and the nose pointing downward and sending out
dolphin calls, like a mantras. I woke up with a whole new respect
for sea life."
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Meanwhile, CharlotteDreamer shared her experience of riding across
the ocean on a giant octopus, and Treader discovered a school of
sea turtles while breathing underwater, having being pushed
overboard by the captain of a pirate ship.
THE SHIPS
Over time, the Ship has become a potent personal dream symbol of
groupwork and cooperation, two principles that have been central
to the success of the Sea Life forum. Greeneye's dream indicated
that this might be more than just a personal symbol:
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
"I live where the buffalo roamed, so I never see ships in RL. Last
night I dreamed about a large boat/small ship that was white on
the bottom and a wide black strip around the top/deck.
I saw it through fog and rain (it was raining here for real last
night) and it was night. The ship was drifting toward me and then
I lost it completely in the fog. I was never very close to it. I
was standing on something solid, but I couldn't see my feet
throught the fog. I looked for the ship again and thought, "Whew!
Won't need that life jacket after all!"
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Many of the dreamers at Sea Life are participants of a dream team;
small groups of 5-8 dreamers sharing their dreams on a regular
basis, while also attempting group projects. For the purpose of
collaboration, teams are also grouped in 'Clans' of five. I decide
to incubate a lucid dream to meet the Sea Life dreamers on our
ship, and was a little surprised to discover two ships (seemingly,
an echo of the grouping arrangements):
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Conscious Dream: All Aboard
I'm watching a movie. It starts off a little like a pirate movie.
I remember thinking that the two ships are in some kind of
competition with one another, but soon decide after watching them
head out to shore side-by-side that this is unlikely to be the
case. If they wanted to take over the others boat, they'd have
done it already. They're both huge ships, massively long and
narrow hulls, perhaps 100m in length, but only 10 in width. At
either end the ships rise into the sky, a little like a viking
boat, but perhaps with not so ornamentation on the design. They're
pretty incredible, and appear to be of dark-brown wooden
construction.
As both ships head out into the ocean, I notice the massive waves
that they move across. Each time a big wave rolls in, the rather
large crew who are scattered along the boat, go tumbling about 20m
up into the air. It's incredible - somehow each time they manage
to land. A little shuffling about, but they land nevertheless
(apart from the occasional crew member, who falls into the ocean).
As I sit watching the movie, I become incredibly immersed in the
energy of their movement, and their tumbling to the ship floor
amidst the rush of the massive waves.
I realise that I'm actually sitting in the cinema, with my best
friend 'Rob', and it is at this point that I begin to realise that
the movie is so powerful that I could just drift off into
conscious dreaming, right then and there. Incredible! I close my
eyes, hoping that my friend won't wake me as I shift into this new
state. The feeling of rising off into a conscious dream, from the
movie seat is a pretty cool one!
Focusing on the audio or just the feeling of the movie, soon
enough I find myself there out in the water. I still think my
physical body is back in the movie cinema. There's a strange
feeling, out there in the dark. I remember looking up into the
sky, and suddenly becoming empty and fearful for no particular
reason. I bring myself back without a thought, but start wondering
if that's just because I'm not willing to face that feeling head
on. Little bursts of lightning begin to spray across the sky.
By now of course, I've remembered what I wanted to do in my
dream. I wanted to go find out the name of our ship, and meet the
other dreamers. I start calling out for the ship, and am surprised
when one rocks up. This is of more modern construction, a little
like a large motorboat. There's someone who's already on it, and
rides up to me to pick me up. I think it's my best friend 'Rob'. I
remember being a bit surprised that there aren't more people on
the boat and I ask about it.
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Upon waking, I wondered if the two ships were the dreamers from
Sea Life; broken into the two clans that exist at the moment. It
occurred to me that maybe I had my own little boat, so I could
travel between the ships of both clans. This is very much the case
metaphorically, as I help out with the projects being run in both
teams. As a symbol, the ship demonstrates that when we put all our
resources together, we can make the journey a whole lot more
enjoyable for ourselves.
DAFUMU FOR THE SEA LIFE
We've recently begun a more focused and intensive night or two of
DaFuMu dreaming and meditation to accompany our month-long
dreaming projects. DaFuMu, is a term familiar to members of the
World Dreams Peace Bridge, meaning "a big dream of good fortune".
http://www.worlddreamspeacebridge.org/
This month we participated in a DaFuMu to improve the
environmental conditions of the Sea Life, with much success! My
dream came quite spontaneously, reminding me of the little things
we could do to improve the oceans environmental conditions, and
reconnecting me to the natural dream wisdom of my land and the
Australian Aboriginal people:
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Dream: Original State (Explora)
I'm out on the beach, by the Ocean. There seems to have been a
wood-fire burning. It's now out. At this point some Australian
aboriginal men appear, merged seamlessly into the texture of their
dream. Their faces are covered in ocher rock paints. I come to
understand, that traditionally when the aboriginal people move
from place to place, they try and return the beach to it's
original state.
It seems they spend a few days?, dancing on the beach, crushing
the wood into dirt-like granules. I begin to dance like the
aboriginal people, noticing the cigarette butts, which we've left
there, hidden in the sand, knowing that these won't just dissolve
into the sand with the wood! I continue dancing, until the wood is
little more than patches of brown powder amongst the sand.
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Also this month, we were lucky enough to have Pasquale, the
creator of the LD4ALL forum join us in our adventures. Her dream
gave great insight into the need for more respect for the
environmental conditions of the Sea Life:
http://www.ld4all.com/
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Conscious Dream: Seed of Life (Pasquale)
I am taken to the ocean or I'm already there. I remember the
DaFuMu. When reading the quest on Sea Life it made me think about
how humankind uses the ocean - they fish it empty, dump all their
toxic waste in there and all their garbage.
In the dream I now see some kind of animation, but it is also 3d.
It reminds me of a Greenpeace commercial. Everything is white but
the lines are squiqly black, a specific animations tyle.
Animation:
A boat comes. It dumps a giant barrel black barrel marked with a
white skull in the sea. It fishes a huge amount of fish out of the
sea. It dumps more stuff.
After doing that it produces a golden (this is gold and shiny not
black and white) "Seed of Life" and dumps it in the ocean.
Right after that a sail pole goes up on the boat, but not as high
as it used to be. I understand that this has been going on for a
long time and every time the Seed of Life has been dropped the
sailpole goes down a little. In the beginning it would have been
huge.
In the dream this brings a lot of understanding. Now I write it
down, I ponder on the meaning. If it continues like that, soon the
Seed of Life won't be powerful enough to produce a sailpole long
enough to take the boat home. The Seed of Life symbolises the
power of life of the ocean. But the more garbage and poison we
dump and fish we take out, the Seed of Life cannot put up with it
any longer, the balance is gone. It could also mean that due to
all the poison the sea life have a lower life energy within them.
So stop poisoning the sea life.
------------------------------------------------------------------
----
In the dream Pasquale had been eager to remember the animation so
she could reproduce it or make a storyboard for Greenpeace. Given
that our site's called Dreampeace I couldn't help smiling when I
read her story. Since this time, Pasquale has kindly offered to
draw the animation, for use on our homepage.
So how then can we best contribute to a positive change in
environmental conditions for the Sea Life. The birth of the Sea
Life Star Foundation was an idea first seeded through dreams many
months ago. My DaFuMu developed on the concept, advising that
Sunwolf and I were to be co-heads of the Star Foundation.
In the future it's my hope that the Sea Life Star Foundation,
could contribute to research + preservation schemes for the Sea
Life, which come directly from our dreams. It's my belief that
dream experiences could put us in direct contact with the Sea
Life, helping to understand their needs better, and how we could
go about improving their conditions. Given the nature of the
military's deep sonar projects, and their impact on the sea life
below, surely it would make more sense to learn about the sea
creatures, if the communication lines were to remain available on
both sides of the waterline!
Stay tuned next month for the results of our experiences 'Dreaming
with the Trees'. We welcome new dreamers to join us in our
adventures.

dream_date: 12/17/2003

dream_text: My dream started out with a small creature, similar to
a human but definitely not, in what appeared to be a parking lot.
On either side of it, there were two tall, dark buildings with
single doors at the bottom. The creature was apparently a guard,
because he was standing near two "cars." Then, two people
appeared, one from each building. These two, unlike the guard,
were both human, and looked like business people. The creature
allowed them to get to the cars (which belonged to them) while
making small talk that I cannot remember. Suddenly, the creature
offered them something as they drove around (they did not leave
the area as they drove; instead, they just drove in a complex
pattern). It was a small tourniquet. The first man, who was blonde
said "No thanks." The second man, black-haired, also said "No
thanks." Then, they both got out of their cars and into the
buildings (they did not, however, go into the same building they
came out of), and the creature went silent again. Almost
instantly, they came out again and began to drive. Once again, the
creature offered something, but a different thing. This time, it
was a shiny blue thing not unlike a rolls-royce, but definitely
not a car. And once again, they refused and went back into the
buildings. Then, the same thing happened, but the creature offered
nothing and watched the two drive. As they drove, I woke up (I
have absolutely no idea what the dream means).
dream_comments: I believe this was inspired by a Marilyn Manson
song I was listening to called "Dope Hat," and I also think that
the dream was not finished. In fact, I took a nap later and had
the same dream with a little added on to it, but I can't remember
what that part was.

the blond haired man represents white magic the dark haired man
black magic. the creature i would say is a gnome and it's not so
much marilyn manson's song as it is his image that i think has
influenced this dream. u are being offered magical gifts by the
gnome and it's not the men who r refusing them it's u. for right
now u think your fine with what u have and what u know but it's
not acually getting u anywhere which is y your driving around the
lot rather than leaving. your not driving in circles either u seem
to be creating your own magical maze or labrynth i'm hoping i
spelled that right. u wanna carve out your own path and not learn
from this creature who has more to offer u. i don't know if your
afraid to learn more about what u have or u think it's 2 involved
which is where the business suits come in. people who r organized,
efficient and know a great deal more than they should have to, to
get the job done. anyway it's entirely up to the person as 2
whether or not magic is going 2 b used for good or evil. from what
u told me about yourself it seems u are intent on only doing good.
so don't worry about what other people say about u the same people
who think they know more than they do and have horribly misjudged
marilyn manson as well. as for y the 2 men came out separate
buildings but then went back in but not thru the same ones all
that means is that u can't go thru one door without knowing and
learning more about yourself than when u went in. the tall
buildings could represent progress or places of learning. the
tourniquet represent the fact u feel overwhelmed and not exactly
blessed with the psychic gifts that have been bestowed and the
shiny blue thing that reminds u of the rolls royce represents the
wonderful and much better thing u could have if u did learn more
about what u have. rolls royce represents power, prestige
something good. the cars represent going somewhere and doing
something with what u have been given. anyway may i say u have
excellent taste in music i listen to the man myself and saw him 2x
in concert. marilyn manson has his own website where u can read
his journal about where he's going, what he's doing, who he's
working with. what not what ever! he's pissing me off by not
mentioning a damn thing about his wife it's always about him, him,
him. i want u to know i still have the other dreams u sent me but
have been working overtime at my job to pay off my dental bill but
i will get around to them. and i did look up the lyrics to "dope
hat" on the internet! your afraid of abusing your powers and
messing up. magic/tragic! doesn't have to be that way! bye! happy
holidays!

scarification or the dream could be telling u that u want to get

are you thinking about getting a tattoo or a matching one with
someone u know and are close too? also u asked me earlier if your

only u can determine whether or not your life is gonna get better
all i can say is don't let other people weigh u down and try to
focus on yourself and not get overinvolved in other people's

Goodness! Talk about synchronicity! I just joined this group
today. Last night while reading "Seth Speaks" I can across
something that MIGHT explain the dreams.
For those not familiar with Seth, he is an entity that was
channeled by Jane Roberts.
During part of his dictation on reincarnation he states, "...each
person lives both male and female lives....to prevent an
overidentification of the individual with his present sex, within
the male there resides an inner personification of
femaleness...Jung called the 'anima'....The male will often dream
of himself, therefore, as a female. The particular way in which he
does so, can tell him much about his own reincarnational
background in which he operated as a female."
In women, the "anumus" is present for the same reason.
Seth continues, "Through the anima and the anumus, so-called,
present personalities are able to draw upon the knowledge and
intuitions and background that was derived from past existences as
the opposite sex. On some occasions, for example, the woman may go
overboard and exaggerate female characteristics, in which case the
animus or male within comes to her aid, bringing through dream
experiences an onrush of knowledge that will result in
compensating malelike reactions."
"The same applies to a male when he over-identifies with what he
believes to be male characteristics, for whatever reason. The
anima or woman within will rouse him to make compensating actions,
causing an upsurge of intuitive abilities, bringing a creative
element to offset aggressiveness."
May have nothing to do with your dreams. It is just a thought.

Subject: the observer, a turtle snake and time travel
Last night I dreamed that I was observing this woman who was
having a hard time in her life. She ended up leaving her child and
walking toward me, up this hill which was covered with giant sea
turtles. She and I switched places and I walked down the hill and
the sea turtles began to form into this slithering shape form,
while still being sea turtles, they were just moving and I was led
to the child which I was then taking to safety. I was accompanied
by a man and we took the child (a little boy, I think, probably
about 2 years of age) until we could go no further. We hid but we
were caught. Then there was a woman interrogating me in a room. I
told her that her office wouldn't be there in a year . . . as if,
I had come from the FUTURE. And I knew this to be true.

the opposite sex
Probably not. What was your male self doing? If he was doing
everything the opposite of what you'd normally do, then maybe he
just represents oppositeness in general.
Or maybe it's your subconscious trying to tell you something. What
do *you* think of as male behaviour? E.g. If it's something like
assertiveness or being control, then perhaps the dream's telling
you to be more assertive, or to stand up for yourself more. (Yeah,
I know, those were tired old clichés of male behaviour, but that
was just an example. You get the idea.)
The important thing is that you don't need to rush out and get a
sex-change operation just because of one dream. :)

well u said u were getting your nephew ready for a party was it a
birthday party? if so u could be worried that he's gonna grow up
and move away which is y you waited for him to come back to u not
sure if he really would. as for finding the boy in the basement
with the bloody knife u could be worried that this boy is in
danger if he leaves u. another way of looking at it sounds like
the boy may have committed the murder. which means he used a force
he otherwise wouldn't use to get himself out of an ugly situation.
but then u tried to cover up someone else's mess and prevent that
person from taking responsibility for their own actions by
throwing away the evidence. and u were'nt supposed to do that
which is y you continued being haunted by it even after u went to
sleep. it seems there's a ghost of a man who's haunting u. if it's
not a personal family situation that's bothering u maybe u should
check into the history of the house and find out what happened
there u could be picking up on some left over psychic residue.

I was observing from above as, in heaven or in the sky.
The only furniture that I recall in the room was a desk. A big
desk. And there was dark wood paneling -- or the room was just
very dark. And I remember the color red. Like a strip of red
velvet or something.
In the dream I felt calm while I was "observing". When the
turtle/snake began to slide me away, I just felt it was strange.
But I wasn't frightened at all. I felt anxious, but not frightened
while I was hiding with the child. More like I knew I was going to
be caught, didn't want to be caught, but was not afraid of any
consequences. During the interrogation I felt "knowing". Like I
just knew that I was doing the right thing. The interrogator
wasn't harsh or anything, I just knew that "they", being
represented by the interrogator, were wrong and that their lives
and what they care about would be different in a year. The
interrogator was a woman, similar in age and appearance to myself.

Home represents self/your body. Have you been getting yourself
ready? Have you been making some
physical/psychological/mental/spiritual changes over this new
year? Some resolutions, perhaps?
A party is a time of pleasure when work is completed. Were you
planning to go to the party with your nephew? And then you
experienced fear because your nephew was lost. Are you afraid to
let loose? Are you afraid to reveal your inner child?
Do you have any children? Blood is passion, and may point to
mother (the basis of creation).
A knife is a symbol for masculinity, aggression, seeking power.
Couple that with passion (as in blood). Perhaps this is your
passionate male self needing to be revealed, or your subconscious
desire to kill it. Are you able to show your wounds and
acknowledge your injuries? Can you see that acknowledging your
wounds and your vulnerabilities could make you more human and
likable?
When you say you lifted your blankets, was this in your dream or
in your waking life?

Subject: My Dream: Underwater in Space
Last night I dreamt that I was working in outer space. There was a
man I was working with who needed to complete a task outside of
the space ship, in an underwater setting. I knew that he needed
someone else to be with him to complete the activity, and I had
the feeling that what he was doing was wrong.
I told him that I would help him, even though breathing underwater
is very scarey for me (we had diving gear, I almost hyperventilate
when I snorkel). I was worried about the man and put my hand in
the center of his back, as I do often in real life to people --
it's a heart opening thing -- and then he touched my leg and
awakened a sexual desire . . .
The details are pretty fuzzy, I don't remember much else . . .

all i remember from a very long dream last night was this part. i
am in my parents bedroom in the house i grew up at. There is this
giant spider-like web where all these green glowing newborn
kittens are hanging on. I reach for one and hold it to my chest,
and close my eyes. I hear it purring, the purring sounds like
something an alien cat would generate. i cant even describe it. i
like holding it close but i know i have to put it back or it will
not live, so i do. also the way it moved, very slow and.. the
texture of the creature is also hard to describe, i really cant
remember.
btw i'm a guy, just in-case you thought differently.

Subject: Re: the observer, a turtle snake and time travel
I want to sincerely apologize for taking so long with this reply.
My computer went down shortly after you response. I just got it
back last night.
First, let me restate my position on dream interpretation. Only
the dreamer can make truly correct interpretations. Others can
only give their opinions. It is up to the dreamer to decide if an
interpretation "fits".
When I am an "observer" in my dreams, it usually means that 1) it
is my higher-self observing the action and/or 2) I do not want to
acknowledge / take part in what the dream pertains to.
Below are some possible definitions that can be substituted for
the symbols in this dream:
Woman - female side of self (intuitive, emotional, nurturing,
etc.)
Child - innocent, open, flexible, playful, childish, immature, or
undeveloped aspect of self
Hill - opportunity for growth
Sea - deep emotions; unmanifested thoughts
Turtles - tendency to hide within its shell; slow but steady
Going UP the hill - positive direction
Going DOWN the hill - negative direction
Man - male side of self (assertive, rational, intellectual, etc.)
Note: At one point, the man, you and child were together.
This could be hinting at a trinity.
Woman "interrogator" - aspect of self that questions in order to
find the answers
Office - daily life, productivity
Desk - mental activity
Dark - unknown, unconscious
Red - power, energy (or lack of)
Bottom line, this dream could be telling you that you are "hiding"
a behavior as represented by the child. Only you know what this
behavior may be. It appears that you are aware of it, but don't
want to acknowledge it. Since you are going DOWN the hill to unite
with it, I take this to mean that it should be left behind. In
other words, if you choose to leave this behavior behind, you have
an opportunity for growth. The "interrogator" part of the dream
could mean a part of you is questioning the behavior that another
part of you thinks is right.
As far as the future... it COULD be your self from the future
coming thru in this dream. However, it could also be that you are
really, really, really rejecting something here.
This dream could also be a review, of sorts, of something that has
already happened. Thus, your higher-self "knows" the outcome.
There are so many ifs, ands and buts in this dream that it makes
is difficult to interpret without BEING you. That is why I
included the possible definitions. So you could substitute the one
that is most accurate, or "get the juices flowing" to come up with
your own definitions. This is a very interesting dream that can
lead to a lot of contemplation.
I hope that I have helped you. If not, give us some more input,
and I'll try again.

i think the kittens remind u of someone or a few people. kittens
represent the female aspect this person or persons is alone scared
confused. which is y they feel like an alien caught in a web or
maze. u like this person or persons and want desperately to help
them but your afraid of going overboard and suffocating that
person with your love rather than killing them or risk losing them
u put them back. if this was at your parents house could be
someone from your neighborhood that u grew up with or someone from
school a long lost high school sweetheart. have u been thinking of
contacting someone lately? but were afraid they didn't want u
around someone u haven't thought about in a long time but for some
odd reason u are now? rather than focusing on the universal
definition of your dream just focus on what the images remind u
of. i had to do that when i had a dream of a barbed wire fence
going straight down the middle of the ocean for 2 days i wasted my
time on the ultimate definition as if it could be defined by
looking it up in a dream encylopedia or dictionary but dreams r a
lot more personal than that. so i focused instead on what the
image looked like and reminded me of than i got my answer: oceans
apart. u know when lovers right letters to each other stating:
even though we're miles/oceans apart i think of u every day. so
who r u thinking of that u still have feelings for? MAYBE U HAD
FEELINGS FOR MANY PEOPLE AND COULDN'T DECIDE WHO IT IS U WANTED TO
B WITH. SO RATHER THAN DECIDING U PUT THEM BACK.

Subject: my nightmare
from late January 2004
my roomate (who then after is my mother) drives me to a persons
house who is a friend of hers (this person swtiches between man
and woman). The house is huge (I feel 12 years old or younger). I
remember staring at the wall, made of brick, and tracing it high
to the ceiling wondering, was this how i thought of my old house
looking like - if i had wanted it to look like that when i was
younger, and if that is how i had imagined it in my mind. Then I
recall looking to my right, and saw the immensity of the room. It
pushed back into to darkness, as the room was dimly lit. In the
darkest corner or the room I see childrens furniture. I turn
around, there are three or more children who disappear into a
hallway. I then wonder how it must be for them to grow up in this
dim huge house, and that they will grow into bad people who will
take from life. I feel this will happen because I have a haunted
feeling, this whole time. I walk into a much larger room. What
captures my attention most is a giant 'video phone'. I remembered
now this was why my roomate wanted to come over (he's into buying
hi-tech gadgets). I move closer to the video phone, and study it.
I seem impressed with not only because it seems a major leap from
current technology, but mainly because it may be possible to use
it to transmit and communicate to the impossible. Or perhaps just
take me out of this dream. I wanted to interact with it, but I
wasn't sure if I would know how to use it, and also, i didn't
believe it to be mine. Some point after this, my mothers friend
discovers a secret room in the house. my mother and the friend and
I walk into the room. I quickly discover the room has spirits in
it. Somehow I have knowledge about spirts and I warn the others
not to take advantage of their hospitality. But they do. We are
drinking wine that the spirits pour for us. I having two glasses
decide that is enough. Anymore and the spirits will possess me and
I will be
trapped in that room. I see my mother and her friend (now a guy)
are getting drunk off the spirits hospitality. I tell them that we
have to leave right now. My mother, almost enitrely possessed but
just able enough to think for herself, with all the love she has
for me and because she still wants me to save me, hands me her
(car) keys. I take my mother's friend's son (maybe six years old,
who all of a sudden is in the room with us) and we get out of the
room. I tell him, you have to lead the way out of here and we must
run away from the house as fast as we can. He leads me down the
hall (where the kids disappeared into previously) and there is a
door leading outside (it is the backdoor). There is grass and such
and I am struggling to keep up with the kid. We have to run across
a slightly dangerous river. He did it quick, evidently
experienced, which reminded me of myself at that age. The scene
changes back to the room, and what has become of my mother and her
guy friend (who she is cheating on my father with). What happens
then, and the things they do to each other, are so disturbing that
I will not write it down for display. Basically, they decide to
have sex right there, mocking the spirits, as the spirts possess
their minds and they violently kill each other. This then returns
to me, (as the child??) crawling up a grassy hill, on my hands and
knees, struggling to make it to the top, to make it over. and i
feel so tired, so tired that i cant make it, and i keep climbing.
in real life my mother did cheat on my father once. and i am not
sure if she knows that i know this.

I just have something to add. I've had a good number of spiritual

First, I feel tingly all over, depending on the intensity of the

figure out the meaning of one of my dreams and a friend was also
helping. He actually came up with the meaning. I began to cry. He
also had this tingling sensation and started to well up with
tears. My question is....does anyone else get these feelings also?
Also, as I was reading the interpratation of this dream when I got
to the oceans apart aspect...I got the tingling sensation again. I
also became very sensitve where I could feel myself touched in a
way. I just wanted to share that part. Thanks.

well is sounds 2 me like u think of your sister as being small and
delicate which in actuality she is quite vicious and refuses to
take advice from anyone about her life and or relationships with
others. even your own mother warned u not 2 bother because it's
bad enough your sister screwed up her own life let alone taking u
down with her. u said that when u tried to pull the bird off it
became heavy like a man. so this would mean to me your trying to
save her from a relationship that might not be at all conducive to
her well-being. she of course could care less. i have too much
personal experience when it comes to saving people from themselves
and their relationships. i got over-involved in my sisters
relationships for about 5 yrs. she hated me, yelled at me, kept
secrets. and i didn't care how much she hated me as long as i felt
i was doing right by her she could hate me all she wanted. i
listened in on her phone conversations, i spied on her and her
boyfriend if he came over 2 see her, i yelled at and hung up on
her boyfriends, my sister would tell on me to my dad and me and my
dad would get into arguements and even though my dad took my side
he told me to stay out of my sister's life. which since we were
still living under the same roof was damn near impossible to do.
after 5 yrs. my sister came up to me one day and said: LISTEN THIS
IS MY LIFE AND I KNOW U LOVE ME AND ARE ONLY TRYING TO PROTECT ME
BUT YOU CAN'T STOP ME FROM MAKING MISTAKES THEY ARE MY MISTAKES TO
MAKE!" and u know she was right since then i backed off completely
only to see my sister make much worse mistakes then the ones i was
trying to save her from. the only thing u can do for someone is to
just be there if and when they need u. you need to focus on
yourself and do good things for yourself and just basically set an
example to her as to how good life can be if u want it to be that
way. i know it's hard it kills me to see how many mistakes she
made. but u know what she survived them and came out on top. she's
doing the best that she can and only she and she alone can change
things for herself but she has to wanna do that. you can't do it
for her.

your mom was possessed cuz after all what would possess her 2 have

the man she had an affair with took advantage of your mom. u seem
to feel more guilty about it than she does. your dream is
literally telling u you r being haunted by your past. the violence
that commences after sex means that u were afraid your moms affair
would destroy or tear apart the family. if u were afraid to tell
your mom that u knew about the affair i'm sure no one told your
dad. the end of your dream when your a child climbing up a hill
signifies that u had a long internal struggle with yourself. you
are on your hands and knees almost begging for forgiveness. u
can't make it over the hill cuz this matter still bothers u and u
feel it's an obstacle that still stands in your way. u feel the
affair was childish and never should have happened and yet u have
a great deal
of empathy for your mother. i think the video phone means u almost
wish the affair was taped so your dad would see it and no one
would have to say anything he would just know and u wouldn't have
to feel guilty for keeping it a secret. i think u secretly wanna
use the phone not to get out of the dream but to turn back time so
the affair never took place. you are also afraid that u will end
up like your mom and take away from life. u don't wanna cheat on
anyone and keep it a secret and have it with hold u from living
your life without fear and guilt that somehow someway someone will
find out. maybe you should tell your mom about your dream and let
her know you've been haunted by it for far too long. i don't know
what's going on now that this dream would all of a sudden surface
after so many years. p.s. sting released his autobiography and he
actually caught his mom in the act he said it made him mistrust
women and he too cheated on his 1st wife but not the one he's been
married to for about 20 years now. u said that u didn't believe
the video phone to be yours maybe u still feel like it's your moms
job to tell your dad and not yours. which that is more her
business than it is yours even though u feel deeply affected by
it. u following the kid out the back door means u wanted to run
away from the situation u were afraid of the danger if anyone
found out and u wanted to deny the situation took place in the 1st
place.

at the start of the new millenium people think the worlds going to

waiting for u. and in her own way she will always be with u. but
lets not be in a hurry ourselves to reach that other side. the

not
afraid of death u know where your going to end up. anyway your

incomplete like somethings missing or u could feel neglected by

well my last dream wasnt posted but i just awoke from almost the
exact same thing.
i'm doing stuff and stuff. old friends. i am in his house (100X
Bigger). I seem to be staying there, in the basement. His parents
leave a party there before they leave. The only room I find out
after I wake up and go upstairs, is a room with plastic dummies
that are animated to look like a party. The other two rooms are
boarded shut. Apparently I was supposed to animated those rooms.
but i'm way too tired to do that.now i am in my house (roomate
owns house i pay rent.) i let two obviously dangerous people rent
extra rooms in the house (in reality there arent any extra rooms).
One person I know for sure in reality. Though he takes on more
menacing looks. I 'wake' up at some point, I scream at him, how
much is he and the other guy paying rent, why didnt I let my
roomate know about this? I am so angry at them and at myself about
all of this. So I go out in traffic and smash into his car. I get
out of my car and break his back windshield. This is where I raise
my hands and I am arrested. I tell the officer as he is
handcuffing me, "I am sorry" he says that is ok (he is mild
mannered as I am being compliant). A car tries to run him over,
and just misses me as I dive to the ground next to the police car.
He runs after it and points his gun at it. Other cars try to hit
him, so He drags me through the street and abandons the
car. It is halloween outside, I see ppl in costumes. I explain to
the cop, "Halloween is where peoples true nature comes out. All
these things they are wearing, is who they are right now. But none
of them are even wearing their skin. Thats where it begins." We go
to a party and its s&m oriented and he still has me in handcuffs.
This is where I kill him (i never witness this happen).I am in my
friends house, agonized. I go upstairs and run back
down. I was talking to myself and I didnt want him to see me. Felt
very bad. I peek upstairs and he has just awoken. He says how is
it going. I walk up the stairs, tell him this "I knew I was going
to do something bad. I saw it. Like in a vision, you know? And
just like that, I am going to be in prison for the rest of my
life." I look in the plastic dummy room, and its then I realize I
might not have killed him, but a plastic dummy version of him
instead. The guilt was still there. I start thinking, how could I
have avoided all of this. Why, I was thinking about it, and it
happened. I woke up after that
note: i'm not entirely happy with my roomate situation. the other
dudes who moved in, the one i recognize had offered me a place to
stay for cheaper than i pay now. but that situation isnt much
better than the one i'm in. as far as the high school friend whos
house i was staying at in the dream, i dont even like him that
much anymore. but we were friends i guess for years until a point

10 years after his death b/c that's when everything would be

So I told my sister and we decided to go to CA to find him, we
found his house (drove to CA from KY in a very short time)and in
his house there was a picture of our family, next to that picture
was a picture of his new family. We spied on him with his family,
he had plastic surgery, but it was him, when he found us I kept

but my ex. I revisted the scene several times (most of them in
black and white). I was going up a hill, lost in the wilderness.
As I trodged up the hill seemed to disappear out of view into the
distant horizon (in place of fog), and with each step, more of the
hill was revealed. And I revisited the site several times. Some of
the times, it was just me there, remembering. Other times, it was
happening all over again. These and similar scenes I cannot recall
intermingled and I revisted them several times.
All of a sudden I felt vulnerable. That I had done a terrible
thing. All that saved me was that I killed them in self defense.
This happened several years ago, and only now was I remembering it
had happened.
I am jumping over tables in a restaurant trying to get somewhere,
when I see my ex sitting at a table. I say, you are looking a lot
better, a lot healthier. I feel very awkward.
I am back on the cliff. There are some people coming up the trail
toward me, and I know they mean trouble. My friend from high
school is there all of a sudden, packing an uzi. He fires at the
oncoming people, of course nothing happens. I proceed to run
backwards down the trail a bit and jump back, hoping to fall
through the trees and fall down the cliff that is there. I jump
again and fall back, hoping to fall down the mountain, as he is
right in front of me and he says to me "I am going to kill you". I
feel that I won't be able to get away even by jumping off the
mountain. I'm not afraid of dying at this point, I am only afraid
of him and that he will catch up with me and kill me. He litarally
scared me to death.
I just recalled that my ex's brother and his brothers friend were
children. So was I, at the time. They were going to push me off
the cliff and I was terrified. I can't recall anything else.
notes: My ex who i really did recently run into in an awkward
situation makes sense, and I said the same thing that I said in
the dream about looking healthier. As for the brother and friend,
they do not exist, they are not people I have ever seen, at least
to my knowledge. Yet this whole day the dream has been troubling
me, as I keep feeling it really did happen. Bleh

Subject: Re: RESPONSE TO [name removed] ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS 4 THIS
OTHER MAN.
i don't remember the dream in question that i have responded 2 as
i have responded to several and have a few left over from 2 months
ago 2 work out. i don't know y a higher self would tell u to risk
it all and go after this other person. u would have to ask your
self how much u could gain and how much u would lose and is the
loss worth far more than u imagined. i don't wanna b responsible 4
breaking up anyone's marriage as i don't have that right i really
have no advice in this matter other than i suggest u see a
marriage counselor, a priest, somone closer to the situation.
write out a list as 2 the pro's and cons of what could be and what
is not possible. keep it discreet and maybe a good talk with your
husband about things that have been building up things u thought
didn't really matter but do. u could b transferring your emotions
to this other man cuz u feel more comfortable talking with him and
possibly feel that u can b more of yourself with him. i don't
know!

Subject: Re: RESPONSE TO THE STRANGER 595
I like the fact that u saw these guys as dummies that was cute. i
think u thought u killed the police officer cuz u have had other
people try to give u advice and tell u what the right thing to do
is. but even if they were trying to help u like u said the other
situtuation wasn't going to b much better than the one u were in.
u also felt guilty for leaving the party and not joining in. which
is y u went to sleep i think at the party u would feel like less
of yourself cuz u were so eager to fit in and b like everyone
else. u quite clearly feel like your being deceived by the
majority of the people around u. like they represent themselves to
u one way and then their true nature comes out later and if only u
had known certain things about them sooner which is where the
halloween scenario comes in. as far as the handcuffs and the s and
m party u feel trapped by the people and situations around u. u
would almost that car have run u over to not be a party to this
party u r with
right now. anytime u get angry and your afraid to express it u
will very often act out this anger in dreams to alleviate yourself
of this anger and to express it in some form to get rid of it. i
got angry at a friend once for playing videos while i was in the
library trying to sleep on the sofa bed. rather than telling him
off i had a dream i told him off and i felt much better upon
waking. just as long as your not physically harming someone or
killing them like in your dream it's ok to tell people off if they
r not conducive to your well being don't be afraid to let them go.
some relationships run their course and peter out. the person who
was once good for u no longer is. u don't hang onto them just cuz
u put so much time and effort into the relationship. u let go of
the negative so the positive can start to come in. i was friends
with someone for 4 1/2 yrs. i moved in and she started treating me
with the same disrespect and contempt that she perpetrates on
others. She moved out and i moved on. i ran into her x-best friend
and former roomate someone i always liked at a festival a week
later. and we've been hanging out ever since. i still can't figure
out y we were'nt closer and better friends sooner and y i chose
the person who left me over her. although the person who left me
did treat me better than most of my friends did during those 4 1/2
yrs. so i don't regret that time with her at all. she was what i
needed for that time.

Subject: Re: RESPONSE TO THE DEAD DAD DREAM
quite clearly u wish that your father was still alive because u
still have some unresolved issues with him. sounds to me like u
think he may have cheated on your mother but only he could tell u
that for sure and now that he's gone u wanna know. the plastic
surgery would suggest to me that u think your father was perhaps 2
faced. maybe he spent a great deal of time away from home and even
though he told u it was for business reasons perhaps your not so
sure it was and u wanna know whether he was telling u the truth.
or u may have been adopted and want to know who your biological
family is. whatever u think your father may have done the fact
remains that he did care for u and he wanted u to be well taken
care of no matter what the cost, expense or how much trouble it
may have took him. at
