A black tornado followed by a white tornado, an erupting volcano,
bright purple spiders, a big snake, puppets jumping out the
television with knives, a shattered horse, and birthing a black
rabbit...sounds like a new Tim Burton movie, doesn't it? Actually
they are in the Electric Dreams Dream Section, thanks to Dream

DREAMSPEAK
AN INTERVIEW WITH BEVERLY D'URSO: A LUCID DREAMER - PART TWO
(c) Beverly D'Urso
Questions by Robert Waggoner
Beverly D'Urso (formerly Beverly Kedzierski, and also Bev Heart)
is an incredible lucid dreamer. She served as Stephen LaBerge's
main lucid dream research subject in the early years of his
research work, and helped provide key insights into lucid
dreaming. Interviewed by magazines, national and local television,
and other media, Beverly has promoted a greater understanding of
lucid dreaming and "lucid living." The LDE is pleased to provide a
multi-issue interview of this fascinating lucid dreamer.
Robert: So Beverly, you have been lucid dreaming regularly since
you were a child, and helped Stephen LaBerge scientifically prove
the existence of lucid dreaming as his main research subject. But
did your time in lucid dreaming affect your other dreams, or were
they everyday, normal dreams?
Beverly: In 1982, after becoming extremely proficient in lucid
dreaming,I spontaneously began having precognitive dreams. These
are dreams of things that happen later in the waking state. For
me, these dreams usually had great detail, were very emotional,
and the waking scenario would occur within a few days of the
dream. However, my precognitive dreams usually have not been
lucid. I was sure that they were not due merely to coincidence. I
even described the events, in detail, to others, who were later
present during the waking scenario. My previous view of the
physical world as being "solid," and having precise rules, had
turned upside down!
Robert: How did you respond to having your world view altered by
your lucid and precognitive dreaming?
Beverly: These experiences caused me to explore other psychic
phenomenon. I began reading books, such as Jane Robert's "Seth"
work. I needed to make sense of what was happening to me. Again, I
thought of life being a dream. It would explain how such things
like precognitive dreams could occur.
Maybe, I needed to become more lucid in life in order to really
see it as a dream. My dreams often seemed as real as physical
reality, sometimes more so. The more I thought of the
implications of life being a dream, the more it made sense. We
could all be dream characters in a dream we call life. Was there a
Dreamer dreaming us all? However, during this time, I was still a
scientist trying to finish my Ph.D. I did not want to be
distracted by these ideas so much, that I never finished my
degree. I decided to put them off for awhile.
Robert: That's understandable. So how did the dissertation go?
Beverly: In my waking state, I was having trouble writing my
doctoral dissertation. I decided to try writing it in my dreams
first. In one dream, I found myself lying in bed. The desk in the
room was in the wrong place, so I realized that I was dreaming. I
headed for my computer, to start writing. I found that I could
not move. I was paralyzed. I told myself, "This is my dream, and I
can do what I want!" I slowly made it to the desk. I looked down,
and I saw that the chair seat was an opening for "the pit to
hell." Flames swept up, and it sounded and smelled awful! I was,
however, determined to succeed. Holding my breath, I sat down,
ready to be sucked into the pit. Instead, I woke up, and within a
very short time, I finished writing my dissertation in the area of
artificial intelligence.
Robert: That's a great story. I recall being at an Association
for theStudy of Dreams' presentation, where one of the speakers
admitted that his realistic dream of fighting the devil occurred
when he was undergoing the oral and written defense of his
doctoral dissertation! So what happened after you finished your
dissertation?
Beverly: I finished my Ph.D. in 1983 and my career really took
off! I was very involved in starting up businesses and traveling
around the world. In 1987, I took a short break from this
computer science work to help Stephen LaBerge form the Lucidity
Institute.
By this time, we had been experimenting for awhile with lucid
dreaming induction techniques to help others more easily become
lucid in their dreams. At first, we tried to send clues to the
dream world by using smells and sounds. In one experiment, I
tape-recorded my own voice saying, "I am dreaming, now!" A
technician would play the tape when I was in REM sleep, making it
gradually louder. However, as soon as the sound became loud enough
for me to hear in the dream, it would wake me up. This was when
we decided to send light to the dream, instead. Light could be
more easily incorporated into the dream and used as a clue to
induce a lucid dream, for someone trained to look for the
flashinglight in their dream.
Robert: So, forgiving my pun, you and Stephen saw the light. How
did that work?
Beverly: We developed a mask that people could wear to sleep at
night, which could recognize REM eye movements. If a person was
in REM sleep, it would then flash a light, which would get
incorporated into the dream. If users were trained to look for the
light, they could learn to question whether or not the light was
from the mask, and, more importantly, question whether or not they
were dreaming. The light might appear as flashing stoplights in
street scenes, or as lightning flashing in the sky. Many versions
of this dream mask eventually got developed, including the Dream
Light and the Nova Dreamer.
I created the first business plan to market this lucidity
induction device. I also helped Stephen give lucid dreaming
workshops. In 1990, I decided to lead my own personal groups and
workshops on lucid dreaming, which soon became lucid
dreaming/lucid living.
Robert: Interesting. When you started out on your own leading
lucid dream workshops, did you feel like you had your own unique
vision of lucid dreaming?
Beverly: Sharing a little of my introduction to lucid dreaming
will clarify how I look at things. When we become "lucid" in our
sleeping dreams, we become aware that we dream while we dream.
Some people never remember their dreams, some remember them after
they have been awake for a while, and some remember them just
after or before they awaken. Lucid dreamers remember they dream
while the dream takes place. They do not necessarily analyze the
dream, or look for symbols, but directly and consciously
experience the dream, shortening the time it takes to realize they
dream.
To me, lucid dreaming does not mean merely "visualizing",
"daydreaming", "clear" dreaming, or even "controlled" dreaming,
necessarily. Also, I personally believe in levels of lucidity, as
a spectrum. I would say I am partially lucid, if I just remember
to question if I am dreaming. I'd call myself definitely lucid,
if I know I am dreaming for sure. I consider myself very lucid, if
I can control or change things in the dream, not that I always do.
Finally, when I am most lucid, I often do not experience a body,
but I have a very powerful, spiritual-like experience.
In a lucid dream, I feel free to do whatever I please, have fun,
experiment, solve problems, accomplish goals, and go wherever my
imagination takes me, taking care to balance spontaneity and
control. I have learned that sometimes it is better to surrender
to the dream. Other times, it helps to take control, change
things, or carry out goals.
I have remembered, on average, half a dozen dreams per night, for
most of my life. I'd say that between 2 and 20 dreams per week
were lucid, to various degrees. So, I'd say a good estimate of
how many lucid dreams I have had would be 20,000. Unfortunately, I
am not a very good recorder of dreams, nor I have organized my
dream reports very well. I have, however, kept track of the ones I
consider most valuable.
Robert: A thousand here, a thousand there- at that point, who's
counting? No, that's incredible. So how have you used your lucid
dreaming knowledge and skills in your presentations and workshops?
Beverly: Here are a few examples of how I worked with my students
in my groups. I would often ask my students to choose a goal for a
lucid dream. One student told me he'd like to bike around the
world. I told him to start simple. He first had to become lucid,
remember the task, stay in the dream, and find a bike to ride. He
accomplished this in several months. Finally, one day he reported
that he had ridden his bike through Russia in his dreams. Shortly
after this, he told me that he could no longer attend my group. He
was quitting his job, selling his house, and taking five years off
to bike around the world!
Another time, a friend I had just met asked me to dream for him.
I dreamed I was in a theater and was watching a movie that he is
in. Later, I told him the story, and I discovered that I had
dreamed his life, including things he never told anyone.
Once, I told a friend's eight year old nephew about lucid
dreaming. I helped him practice lucid dream induction techniques
while awake. I asked him what he'd like to do in a dream. He
said he'd like to meet a president of the United States. In a few
days, he called me to tell me that he had a lucid dream. He didn't
find Washington or Lincoln, but he did meet up with the artist,
Leonardo da Vinci. He said that it was okay, because da Vinci was
famous too. I asked him what happened. He told me that he asked da
Vinci if da Vinci knew that he was in the encyclopedia. Then he
showed da Vinci some of his own artwork. The boy was very happy
with his lucid dream, and very pleased with himself.
Robert: Did listening to your students' lucid experiences and
challenges inspire you to try out new things in your own lucid
dreams?
Beverly: Yes, sometimes I would decide ahead of time to meet up
with people in my dreams. I have succeeded in dreaming of the
people, but none have ever told me that they had the same dream.
That would be called a "mutual dream." It is easier for me to
attempt a mutual dream when I am lucid, because I can stop and
remember my goal. I have an easier time making it happen, as well.
I often try to accomplish tasks for my students so we can discuss
issues that arise, and also to see if we could have a mutual
dream. Here is a dream I had when trying to have a mutual dream
with a student named Sharon.
I found myself in front of my childhood home and noticed that it
looked strange. The door wasn't in the right place and the house
was situated improperly on the block. This happens often in my
dreams, so at that moment I became lucid. I knew I was dreaming
and I remembered that I had a goal for this dream. However, I saw
a neighbor, who I knew had died, and I first stopped to talk to
her. In previous dreams, I would see her and say, "You are dead!"
and try to get on with my goal. She would get upset and say, "I'm
here now, so talk to me!" Unless I did, I learned that I would
have trouble completing my goal.
My goal for the dream was to meet Sharon in the Bahamas.
Immediately, I began to fly like superman heading south, because I
was in the Chicago area at the time. It was dark, and I had a
long way to go. By this time in my lucid dreaming experience, I
could fly through electric wires that were in my way, but now I
had another idea. I could make myself miniature, go into the wire
as electricity itself, and get there very quickly. So I got tiny
and popped into the nearest wire, which appeared like a large
tunnel once I was inside. I was whisked very fast, shooting
headfirst down the line, until I abruptly popped out the end of
the wire. As my normal self again, I was somewhere at the southern
tip of the United States, at the ocean's edge, where the electric
lines stopped.
I realized I didn't have much time left, and I decided to travel
the rest of the way underwater, doing a kind of superman
swim/flying. I soon got distracted by the lovely underwater life
and the joy of moving so fast, while breathing the water. I
finally made it to a lovely beach in the Bahamas. I asked a guy,
who was serving drinks to the sunbathers, if there was a
restaurant nearby. This was the place where Sharon and I agreed we
would try to meet. He pointed down the beach, and I walked to a
resort type building, and then through a long hall. I was about to
ask the host if Sharon was waiting for me, when I saw "her"
sitting on a bench. She didn't look like she was expecting me, so
I said, "Don't you remember that you said you wanted to dream of
going to the Bahamas, and I said I'd meet you in a lucid dream of
my own? Well, this is it. We are dreaming now."
I was thinking that this dream girl was "Sharon," a dream-body who
was connected to Sharon, who was probably asleep in bed in
Mountain View, California. If I had seen her as a projection of
myself, I may have decided not to talk to her, believing that she
wasn't connected in any way to the physical Sharon. In this case,
I said to her, "Well, I'll tell you a secret, and we'll see if you
remember it when I see you in our group next week." I whispered a
secret in her ear, and soon afterwards I woke up.
Robert: So what happened after this lucid dream? Did she call you
in waking reality or have any memory of the dream?
Beverly: When Sharon came to my lucid dreaming group that Sunday
night, she had forgotten the goal and had never dreamed of me, nor
the Bahamas. I am still waiting, as I am with others, for her to
report a related dream or for her to tell me the secret!
Around this time, I had a dream where I was riding my bike down
the street of my childhood home. I became lucid and started flying
into the air. I was flying over the nearby river, when a cartoon
figure of a dolphin floated in front of me. The dolphin danced
around, and then asked me if I'd like to go on an adventure. After
putting out its fin for me to hold onto, it proceeded to pull me
down into the ocean, which was now where the river had previously
been. Something similar had happened to me, with a whale shark, in
the waking state, while I was scuba diving. The dolphin and I
traveled deeper and deeper, faster and faster. I felt both
ecstatic and somewhat dizzy, almost as though the experience were
too intense. I woke up, however, feeling fantastic; very
peaceful, yet energized.
Robert: That's great. Did you have any more experiences with
dolphins in dreams or waking life?
Beverly: A few years later, I noticed an ad from a man who took
people on dolphin expeditions. I contacted him, and we eventually
did a joint lucid dreaming/dolphin swimming workshop on a sailboat
in the Bahamas. On this trip, while I was in the crystal clear
water of the open sea, one of the dolphins rubbed up to me.
Underwater, its color and shape looked remarkably similar to the
dolphin of my dreams.
Robert: So what other lucid dreaming stories come to mind?
Beverly: When I was thirty-seven years old, I became very anxious
to find a mate, get married, and have children. During the
Christmas holidays, while visiting my parents, I had the following
dream. I met up with myself at the age of twenty-one, who was sad
because she was about to leave her college boyfriend, so she could
travel and have a career. I told my twenty-one year old self that
I had done those things. I said that I now wanted a husband and
children. She introduced me to my alternative self, who was also
37, and who had married my college boyfriend. They had three
children, and now she wanted to divorce him. My twenty-one year
old self and I decided that everything was as it should be.
Finally, I woke up. As I am writing down the dream, I hear an
inner voice, as if from a future self, who says, "Everything is
perfect as it is!" I finally believed it. I trusted that I would
find my perfect mate, when the time was right. I didn't need to
worry about it. I decided that if life is a dream, then my dreams
would come true. I imagined that anything was possible, even after
I read a Newsweek article, which said that a woman was more likely
to die from terrorists, than to get married after forty! I did,
however, prepare my life for my future family by buying a house,
getting a dog, which was supposed to be good with kids, and taking
a job as a college teacher, which I thought would work well with
being a mom. I met my husband two years after this dream.
Robert: It's interesting in that story how your conversation in
the lucid dream leads to a strong conviction that "Everything is
perfect as it is!" and following that revelation, you move ahead
and buy a house and prepare for your future family. That is one
thing that many casual lucid dreamers fail to see - how a lucid
dream experience can be as powerful or more powerful than many
significant waking experiences. Have you ever used waking reality
to practice becoming lucid?
Beverly: In my groups, we would practice becoming lucid while
awake. I would give my students exercises, such as, questioning if
they are dreaming, several times a day. For example, I asked them
to check if they were dreaming every time they washed their hands
during the day. I jokingly said, "If your hand falls off, you are
most definitely in a dream!" Around this time, I was also helping
my mother with her dreams of my dad after he died, in 1992. She
was having recurring dreams of my dad, who would appear next to
her bed. She would fear that he was here to take her to heaven.
I told my mom, "If you see dad, remember that he died, and
therefore you must be dreaming!" A few days after I gave my group
the hand exercise, she was able to get lucid in her recurring
dream. My mother remembered that my father had died, and she knew
she was dreaming. She was even able to take his hand, and his hand
fell off.She did not know about the exercise when she reported the
dream to me the next morning.
Robert: Beautiful. Did trying to become lucid while awake lead to
any revelations?
Beverly: Yes, I saw how powerful it could be to become lucid in
waking life.
I met my husband, Chris, six months after my father died. It was
the most lucid day I have ever experienced. We were at a party,
and I saw him from across the room. I knew that he was my future.
It was love at first sight.
I was able to stay in the moment, without fear, and with total
trust. I believed in magic, while been totally accepting whatever
happened. I was able to listen to him, as if he were truly part
of myself.
I was very sorry, however, that he never got to meet my father,
when I had the next dream. I was in my childhood home, where my
mom still lived, and I saw my dad on the couch. I remembered that
he died, and that I must be dreaming. I went to sit next to him
and told him that I loved him. I asked him why, lately, he hadn't
appeared as often in my dreams. He said that he was helping me
from under the bridge. I'm not sure what he meant, but I was happy
to hear his voice and feel him close. Next, I embraced him, and
after we hugged, I looked back into his eyes. He had turned into
my husband, whom I so much wanted my dad to meet. I soon awakened
and felt as though they had finally met, at some level.
Chris and I were married in less than a year after we met. We knew
that we wanted to have a child. After much medical help to get
pregnant, I decided to work on the issue in my dreams.
I decided to dream of our future baby. I would ask questions of
the baby in the dream such as, "When are you coming?" I would also
try to determine what year it was in the dream. Sometimes the
baby would have messages.
Robert: It's fascinating how you seem to work on "the future" to
some degree in your lucid dreams. Maybe it is not the future, so
much as your hopes for the future. Did you have many other lucid
dreams of trying to influence the future?
Beverly: One time, in waking reality, I was back in my childhood
home, alone for the first time. My mom was ill, and in the
hospital. My Dad had died over two years ago. I was afraid, crying
in my bed. I fell asleep. Spontaneously, without trying to
influence the future, I had a type of nurturing dream involving
the future. I became lucid in my dream, when I noticed that the
baby, from my baby picture on the wall, was coming out of the
picture. I walked over to myself as a baby, just in time to take
the baby in my arms. As I held her, I saw my face in hers, and I
pulled her to my chest. I could see her lips sucking at my breast,
and I felt very fulfilled. I slowly awakened, and I felt my own
lips moving, as well. I was deeply nurtured. A year later I
nursed my own child in that very bed!
Before my son, Adrian, was born, however, I also had some
interactions with my childhood witches. My witch dreams went
through many transformations during my life. In 1960, I faced up
to the scary witches from my recurring nightmares. In the 1970's,
I looked for the witches of my childhood in a dream, and they
appeared as harmless, little old ladies. In the 1980's, I noticed
that the witch drama appeared in my waking life as well. In 1994,
doctors gave me terrible odds against having a child. So, I looked
for the witches in a lucid dream, thinking of them as my "creative
power," and I brought them into my uterus. Within a year, I got
pregnant with my son, Adrian.
Adrian was born during the 1995 Association for the Study of
Dreams Conference (ASD95). This was three years after I presented
the paper at ASD92 called, "What I Learned from Lucid Dreaming is
Lucid Living." I brought him to the ASD96 conference. He also came
to the ASD97 conference, where I gave a workshop called, "Living
Life as a Lucid Dream." Adrian turned two on the day of the dream
ball.
Robert: In a way, it seems that your lucid dreaming skills allowed
you to use that beautiful symbol of witches as creative power for
your own ends. In a sense, you claimed the power of the shadow.

ABC's of Dream Benefits
(From "How To Fly")
© 2004 Linda Lane Magallon
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
Ask most folks why they like flying dreams and they'll probably
answer, "Because they're fun." They're expansive, energetic,
expressive and euphoric. They feel good. Of course, we're talking
about the best case scenario, not flights where you're frightened,
frustrated, fatigued or flummoxed. Dream flights span the range of
emotion and sensation, but even those at the negative end of the
scale can be beneficial. While fun may still be topmost on your
list of motivating factors, there are plenty of others to ponder.
Would any of these ABCs inspire you to have dream flights?
Award for Awakening
Once I incubated a series of flying dreams when I'd been feeling
so stiff in the mornings that I practically hobbled out of bed.
During the third of my dreams, I dreamt I was dancing in the air.
As the dream drew to a close, my radio alarm clicked on. It was
tuned to a station that was broadcasting a song with a rollicking
beat. Dancing in my dreams became dancing out of bed and around
the room. There simply was no physical stiffness left. The
emotions and energy of a buoyant nighttime flight can certainly
carry well into the day. On the other hand, if flying causes us to
wake while we're still asleep, we get another sort of award. It's
called lucid dreaming.
Browsing the Body and Brain
Have you ever had an in-the-body experience? I don't mean
inhabiting the physical body during the day. I mean traveling
through it, deep in the night, as a fairy-like bit of
consciousness. For dreams, it doesn't matter what size we are. Our
awareness of self can shrink and become a traveler on a fantastic
voyage through the body's systems, but the pictures will be
produced for normal size comprehension. For instance, the flash of
light created by the visual nervous system might be perceived as a
storm with lighting in an inky dark landscape. When we're small
enough, the lungs may seem to be a huge cave of howling wind. I
bet you didn't know that Hades is located in the intestines! The
flyer is graced with a gift to keep the underworld under her skin
from being too overwhelming. She has the ability to rise above it.
Courage to Confront; Choice to Create
In the schema of American psychologist Abraham Maslow, there are
two major motivations that help determine our thoughts, feelings
and behavior: basic needs and growth needs. When our basic needs
(like air, food, safety, companionship and esteem) are not met, we
worry and fret, even agonize and fear. These reactions are
converted into the normative nightmare and anxiety dream. The
flyer has a tactical advantage regarding threats: flight or fight.
We can run away from problems (flight) or come back to confront
them (fight). When basic needs are satisfied, the energy that had
been forced to fulfill them is liberated for the growth of human
potential. Instead of trudging through trouble, we are free to
fly. As we fly free from survival imperatives, we expand our
artistic horizons. We sculpt creative dreams; we create our own
reality.
Decoding Day Residue
Flying dreams have been labeled "bizarre," that is, they don't
conform to the constraints imposed by the physical world. It's
true that your physical body will walk or run or drive a car down
the street. But your inner body-sense surely doesn't. It floats
along for the ride. Your physical body may break into a smile over
a happy event, but your inner body leaps for joy. Your physical
body may sit on an office chair, while a spark of your inner
consciousness soars to the South Seas in reverie. Comes time to
form a dream about daytime events and the sleeping mind is not
limited to a literal depiction of life. Rather than a mundane
description of your daily commute to work, it may well depict a
slow but steady flight through city streets. Or perhaps the
orchestral sounds from your car's loud speakers may invoke
uplifting emotions that evoke an ecstatic flight to anywhere but
city streets. Thus, when you get ready to decode a flying dream,
ignore the blatant "bizarre" imagery. Dig underneath it.
Concentrate on sensations, emotions and thoughts. These are the
elements that echo an actual waking event. Dream pictures don't
have to be photographic records of a recent daytime experience.
For flying dreams, the mind reveals the hidden side of self. It
paints how you feel.
Emotional Environmentalism
Dreaming together with other people doesn't guarantee a communal
high. If it happens spontaneously, it's far more likely that a
shared dream will be a nightmare or anxiety experience. It's
deliberate co-dreaming that's likely to shift focus towards mutual
agreement and harmony. Successful mutual dreamers have this in
common: most all know how to fly. Although their dreams may begin
as an anxiety event, resolution can occur in-dream and the dream
will end on an upbeat note. This is the Environmental Effect: the
conversion of negative to positive while the dream is still
happening. Instead of shadow land, the dream becomes a land of
light. In the long run, the percentage of negative dreams drops
rather dramatically. The flyer is, then, a dream environmentalist,
recycling the residue of daily waste and polluted programming and
retrofitting our minds with attitudes and aptitudes that build us
new Edens.
Finding Friendship
As the flyer matures, flight away from life into the long night of
the hermit's cave transforms into tentative return. The flyer
becomes more willing to risk human relationship and finds new
courage to attempt communication. When I'm lucid and other dream
characters share the same scene, I often ask if anyone would like
to come fly with me. The characters may raise their hands or
simply come forward to join me. A co-flight can be parallel, hand-
in-hand or enmeshed with co-mingled bodies. This flow of
interaction carries over to the waking state. As a whole, flying
dreamers are more likely than most to share their dreams with
other people when they wake up. Flying dreams are a highly prized
gift of relationship.
Glimpses of a Gorgeous Globe
Since there's no need to breathe in the hyperspace of dream,
there's no limit to how far you can fly. Dream flight can send you
streaking through the stars, en route to a distant planet or
rounding the moon and sun as if you're propelled by a celestial
sling-shot. But there's one spot where stopping and hovering is a
glorious joy. That's where you can view the whole of our Great
Blue Marble supported only by the infinite dark. Many people write
about "oneness" as if it's some abstract concept in the land of
mental ambiguity. This dream is an opportunity to actually see it:
the beauty of the whole Earth from a vantage point aloft. The flow
of the pen may produce promises or release an ancient longing, but
the fulfillment of human hope happens in Technicolor, feelie-
vision, surround-sensation and the utter reality of suspension in
space.
Herald of Health
How healthy are you? Your dreams can hand you the clues. Because
dreams have a high relation to sensation and feeling, they can
picture such aspects of your being. They might indicate that you
are in less-than-perfect health. Conversely, they can display the
activities of a robust and vigorous psyche. Flying - how fast, how
far, how high - serves as a thermometer of health. Do I fly
through fair skies or foul? Do I get airborne at all? The styles,
moods, obstacles (or lack of them) can indicate the state of my
emotional, mental and physical health. They can signal that well-
being is on the way or warn me that I need pay closer attention to
my body, my car, my relationships with other animals and people. I
incubate flying dreams to get my dreaming self moving away from
sickness and other sub-standard modes of being. We both feel
better that way.
Intentional Imagination
I'd like to quote British poet W. H. Auden here: "The trouble with
dreams, of course, is that other people's are so boring"! Oh, my,
can we have boring dreams? Yes, indeed. Once in a dream group, a
dreamer related a long tale of trying to become lucid. When she
finally achieved her goal, she found herself in a empty room,
without any characters, without any props or scenery or a script
being automatically produced just for her. Since there wasn't
anything interesting going on, she shrugged her mental shoulders
and let go of her lucidity. After this, she had no desire to have
any more lucid dreams. That shocked me to the core. But I came to
realize the fundamental difference between fate and free will. The
fated dreamer lets only happenstance direct his drama. The flyer
understands she had a choice to be either passive or an active
agent in the emergence of her story. In flight, we awaken the
Inner Child who is never bored or boring because, in her theater
of dreams, she remembers how to play. She knows how to release her
emaciated imagination from its stark cage and let it take flight.
Jokes and Jumping Jehosephat
Do you recall the last time you laughed in a dream? Have you
*ever* laughed in a dream? Here's another quote to ponder. When
psychoanalyst Victor Monke was asked about proactive dreams, he
responded that dreams were the results of "conflicting emotional
needs at the same time." If a person truly were able to direct the
course of a dream away from its "natural" conclusion, said Monke,
"he wouldn't be having the dream" in the first place. As our
legacy from Freud, we are weighed down by the grave supposition
that dreams are repressions of some seriously perverse
psychological problems. There is an insipid inference that only
troubled dreams warrant our attention. Humor has little foothold
in such a fault-finding occupation of the mind. It comes as no
surprise to me to find out that Freud never had a flying dream in
his life. Did you know that, in dreams, it's possible to jump,
laugh, sing and giggle yourself into the air? After all, aren't
flying dreams premiere examples of "levity"? Before you groan, you
might like to know that flying dreams are great punsters, too. Our
dreaming selves can have a very humorous perception of waking
life.
Knowledge versus Kryptonite
The Kryptonite Effect is the nemesis of the flyer. It's everything
that keeps her grounded, makes it hard to launch, slows her
progress and creates a glass ceiling for her efforts.
Understanding these obstacles, and how to overcome them,
translates into helpful hints and an attitude that aids in solving
problems in related sorts of dreams. For instance, if you come to
realize that phenomena like sleep paralysis, myclonic jerks and
floating feelings are quite natural and common on the borderlands
of sleep, then the surprising sensations of flight will intrigue
rather frighten. Cognitive therapy can change a negative mind set
for flying. Behavioral therapy helps convert knee-jerk reactions
to more positive activities. Programming for flight is practice in
incubation, a primary tool for any proactive dreamer. The more you
know and put to use, the better your dream adventures.
Comprehending Kryptonite means reviewing one's biochemical,
psychological, physical and psychic health and selecting the
appropriate tools for the job of healing. It's a holistic approach
to dreams.
Launching the Lucid Dream
My body's fatigued, my mind is mush, my self-discipline is
practically nonexistent and my dreams are few. I don't know if
you've ever been at the bottom of the barrel, but I sure have,
more times than I care to remember. A highly desirous goal, like
becoming awake as I dream, seems totally beyond my reach. Pie in
the virtual sky. There's only two ways I know to win the prize.
One, take a tremendous leap and hope you land in the treetops
rather than atop a footstool. Pull yourself together, take a deep
breath, and activate your will with all the power of an Olympic
weight lifter and jump. However, the number of times I've leapt
tall buildings with a single bound is very low indeed. For the
second option, take the slow and easy way, one step at a time.
This approach is longer, but along the way, you can have some
pretty interesting dreams. My dreaming self begins in low gear; I
take a walk around the block. My dreaming self starts to walk; I
walk and imagine flying. My dreaming self begins to fly. Only
then, do I give myself the directive to go lucid. This route from
flying to lucidity, from slug to Super Hero, has been used
successfully by many dreamers.
Mundane Milieu To Mary Pop-ins
What's the most tedious dream you have? For me, it's a slight
variation on some trivial activity in waking life. It's when my
dreaming self is acting like my clone, and a pretty robotic one,
at that. Flying is certainly not mundane; it's a promise and
fulfillment of fantasy. So, what's a fantastic alternative? How
about Alice Through The Looking Glass? Instead of staying in
mundane reality, you imagine yourself into a mirror. Or into a
story, a movie, even a symbol. My dreaming self likes Pop-ing Into
A Picture best, so that's what I'll choose to look at before I
sleep: solid visual blocks with which she can build the scenery,
props, characters and even story line. Flying into the picture in
my imagination translates into flying into realms of adventure
when I sleep. Or I might try Pop-ing Into A Picture on the
borderlands of sleep. During hypnogogia, I watch the scenes flash
like a slide show, then take a mental breath and launch myself
into one of them. I can start a flying dream that way. Boring,
they are not.
Nullifying the Nightmare
Flight or flight is an automatic response to fear bred from
millions of years of evolution. Since dreams can react to
instinctual promptings, running away from terror is a very common
theme. The flyer has an advantage over surface dwellers. She can
leap above grasping hands or sharpened teeth. But fleeing is only
a first step in the flyer's defensive repertoire. She can turn and
watch the threat from above or return to fight, frighten,
negotiate a cease-fire or befriend. Should she stand her ground,
learn to face down fear, she still knows, deep in her soul, that
she has a back-up plan. She can always get airborne if need be.
Opportunity for Out-of-Body
Flying in dreams is preparation for astral projection. The
feelings of floating and soaring are already known. It's simply a
case of shifting the scenery. Instead of a fantasy landscape, a
change of consciousness provides awareness of one's own bedroom.
Being stuck in the thrall of sleep paralysis may be scary at
first, but the flyer soon realizes she can escape that heavy,
frozen feeling. By relaxing and reaching back in her mind for the
memory of gravity-free movement, she can retrieve the sensation of
lightness that enables lift. If she exchanges her serious concern
for levity, then out-of-body she will float. Lightheartedness is
the key.
Practice for Physical Life
Wouldn't it be great to fly like Superman in the physical world!
Well, perhaps someday, someone will find the key to unlock that
secret. In the meantime, flying is still good practice. It
provides the self-esteem to stand up and face problems in waking
life. It models movement for the physical body. Since the
sensations of flight in dream derive from sensations felt in daily
life, the dream can do an about-face and inspire still more
movement, now backed by the confidence and control that comes from
practice in a safe arena. Now matter if the goal is to roll a
scooter, ride a horse, drive a car or yes, even fly a plane, the
dream builds experience for such activities. It is a first-rate,
custom made, flight simulator.
Questioning the Status Quo
Go with the flow. A wonderful feeling. A heart-swelling ecstasy.
An effortless ride. When you have no place special to go, catching
the wind and taking it wherever it may go is the name of the game.
But supposing the flow isn't sending you where you wish? Is it
sucking you downward, shooting you upward at too fast a pace? Then
you may wonder whether the flow is flowing in your best interest.
Perhaps it is taking you exactly opposite your optimum path. Flows
come from all sorts of sources: illness and heath, peer pressure
and support, enthusiasm and warped will power. Only some of these
are worth your while. The flyer may catch the latest surge of
energy if she wish, but she is no victim of circumstance. She has
the awareness to wonder where and why and how and with whom she is
going. And the determination to stop and consider other options.
Religious Revolution and Reality Tests
In the annals of religious history, many a dreamer has been swept
up by compelling forces and flung skyward to serve almighty
purposes. Should the journey be rapturous, the dreamers may well
respond with adoration and awe. But their own wills and intentions
are sacrificed on the altar of passive surrender. Is this an
admirable trait in a spiritual seeker? A spontaneous surprise may
offer little choice. But the dreamer has the power to awake from
the enthrallment of sleep; to wonder, to compare, to judge. There
are many religious paths, none of which are exempt from reality
tests. Am I being swept along by gods or ghouls, angels or demons,
by aliens or fairy folk, by friend or foe? Must I rely on others
to reach enlightenment or do I have some say about the route of my
Hero's Journey? When the spirit learns to fly on her own, her
inner myth can't help but change. At this, the dawning of the air-
age of Aquarius, willful flying contains the seed of religious
revolution.
Sports and Skills of the Super Hero
Dream researcher Paul Tholey used lucid dreams to help perfect his
skateboarding skills. Then he taught other dreamers to practice
the skills of their sports in-dream, too. One dreamer was an
Olympic equestrian. In order to improve skiing prowess, Tholey
suggested that another dreamer practice, but not within his dream
body. The dreamer flew along out-of-body, at the end of his skis.
Flying helps the physical athlete, but it also keeps the mind
flexible. Players of chess, board games and virtual reality toys
are flyers. Flying is a sort of dream air-obics. Many video games
require an active mind and quick reflexes as the player speeds
from one onrushing scene to the next. Flying is no sport for couch
potatoes! Even if physically immobilized or confined to bed, a
dreamer with a strong and flexible mind can soar like a Super
Hero.
Traveling through Time and Space
If you wished to travel in Wonderland, how would you get there?
Fall down a rabbit's hole? The ability to fly might come in very
handy just then. There are all sorts of tight spaces that can be
traversed with ease if you have the ability to move in a unique
direction. Not just forward and back, but down into the depths of
the underworld, up from dungeons and despair and through long dark
tunnels out into the light. I've always thought that time travel
would be most practical if it took place suspended in the air.
Less traffic up there. In dream, if I travel in time, I usually
teleport or go via space vehicle. Either way is an opportunity to
try out variations of the flying theme.
Understanding a Universal Symbol
Since flying dreams have been found down through history and
across the world wide, flying has a solid claim to be called a
"universal" symbol. But is it an archetype? It seems Carl Jung's
primary experience aloft was a vision induced by medication.
Floating happened to Jung; he didn't happen to it. He was
fascinated by UFOs and little girls who turn into birds, but they
were objectified symbols at a safe distance away. The most
popularized flying myth is Icarus, the guy who fell out of the
sky. Why not Daedalus, the fellow who actually got it right? Hmmm?
When I went searching the annals of ancient legend and myth for
tales of flight, there wasn't a lot of positive adventures to pick
from. So I looked further and found examples in Chinese fairy
tales, African-American folk tables, American tall tales, Japanese
comic books, British science fiction and, most especially, the
children's section of the library. Flying expands your world, in
more ways than one.
Visiting Virtual Reality
Ever seen VR images on TV? Virtual reality is a series of
connected images, a simulation of life on the move. In a VR
helmet, you can visit locations (such as a mimic of Mars) with all
the visual reality of a physical trip, but without the danger and
expense of going IRL (in real life). Or you can inhabit realms of
fancy. In VR your point of view "flies" from one angle, altitude
and attitude to another. Whether fantastic or realistic, flying
provides unique perspectives no earth-bound individual can have.
Just like dreams can do. Dreams are our own personal virtual
theaters of the mind. In VR you can fly through walls. In dreams
you can fly through earth, air, fire and water. Shrink to the size
of a molecule, grow to the size of a galaxy. Have experiences
you've never "dreamed" of having, here in waking life. Flying is a
fairly comfortable introduction to even more extraordinary dreams.
Wallop of Wonder
The first experience of any "big" dream can shake you to the core.
It's a sensory, mental, emotional explosion of feeling that
impresses you forever. It remains with you in the present to serve
as an inspiration for the future. And as a standard against which
you judge all new occurrences. Unfortunately, succeeding
experiences may never come close to equaling the first. Perhaps
that's why some folks treat a flying dream as something sacred,
something they never dare repeat. It would diminish the awe and
amazement of the original impact, they presume. Now, that's just
sad. It's true - no flight will be exactly like another. It could
be better! For me, one of the greatest joys of flying is the view
of the passing landscape. A dream scene can outrank any VR or
physical version with its vivid color, sparkling essence and
overall sense of realness that is unlike any other. I've lost
count of the times I've called out spontaneously, "Oh, how
beautiful! Oh, how wonderful!" while I watched a scene unfold in
all its heart-filling glory as I flew over, around and through it.
Words of astonishment rise like an underground torrent and gush
right out of me. You may have heard of repeating nightmares, but
what about repeating big dreams? That's what flying dreams are for
me.
X-trasensory X-perience
What's the most common psychic dream? These days, it's likely to
be the preview of an air disaster. Airplane and space shuttles top
the list that includes prophetic dreams of Apollo, Challenger and
the New York World Trade Center. The theme of flight permeates of
our culture down to the depths of our dreams. Sometimes such
dreams have great practical benefit: some folks have been warned
away from taking airplane flights that later ended in tragedy. But
there are also plenty of positive examples of flying psi:
clairvoyant, empathic, telepathic and mutual as well as
precognitive. If you want to visit another person in-dream, then
at least one of you has to travel. Mutual dreamers often use the
premiere method of locomotion, the out-of-body experience. When
you move into extraordinary dream space, where the unknown is the
rule rather than the exception, being able to fly will get you out
of potential trouble spots and shift your paradigm. It can change
the way you view psi phenomena over all. Instead of a prisoner of
prophetic fate, you rescue your own destiny and place it back in
your hands.
You and Your Dreaming Self
What do you actually do in your dreams. Or, I should say, what
does your dreaming self do? Because, if you are a flyer sans
vehicle, you know darn well that you, as physical self, aren't
doing the flying. The "you" of waking reality isn't the "you" of
dream space. Never in waking life have I become invisible, shrunk
to a pinpoint of light or metamorphosed into a bird. My dreaming
self has that sort of fun, although vicariously, I come along for
the ride. It's as if we lead parallel lives, each with their own
unique properties. They might be separate lives, if we pay no
attention to one another. When we learn to become aware of each
other, though, we can develop a reciprocal relationship. I suggest
new ideas; she may or may not carry them out. Instead of always
asking her to serve my needs, I ask, "What would you like to do?"
I provide new building blocks of vivid memories for her to shape
the dream; she provides me with a life of magic. Who gets the best
of the trade? We do!
Zero In, Zone Out
If I had to pick just one benefit of dream flying, it would be
this: I am more. As a flyer, my concepts of both waking and
dreaming reality have been radically altered. I live in a wider,
richer universe than even before. It's multi-leveled meaning, not
surface symbol. I feel myself to be bigger; that is, there's more
substantial me to fill me up. Fulfillment or enlightenment aren't
mental concepts to write about, with which to play literary mind
games. They are first hand experiences of beingness. Sometimes I
wonder if folks who write about extraordinary spiritual, mental,
psychic or emotional highs have ever actually been there.
Imagining them is not the same has having them. I wonder what
would happen if we could separate speculation about reality from
reality itself.
But that's just speculation. Guessing, theorizing, writing,
talking. And talking. And talking. And talking... They're flimsy
substitutes for the real thing. So time to stop simulating sleep
and start sleeping. Pleasant flights!
Zzzzz.

THE VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE

THE DREAMS OF CHILDREN
o|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|+|o
Meanwhile - Let us be good to the children in our lives - and add
more children to our lives who need some good - Joy Fatooh
On The World Dreams Peace Bridge this month, a major theme seems
to have been the dreams of children. In war-torn Iraq; in Peace
Train activities in Germany and Australia; in Dallas, Texas and
Manchester, England, members and supporters of the Peace Bridge
have been thinking about and listening to children and their
dreams.
During the recent conference of the International Association for
the Study of Dreams in Copenhagen, Denmark, attended by several
members of the Peace Bridge, I began to listen to people as they
talked about working with children and their dreams, "I would be
worried that the parents might think I was trying to influence the
children," said one man. "I love children; and they love me,"
said another. "The most important thing in working with
children's dreams is being able to listen," said Brenda Mallon,
author of Dream Time With Children.
On Monday, July 12, just before a scheduled Peace Train workshop
in Germany, Ralf Penderak's eleven-year old son, Alex, had the
following dream:
I get a letter saying I must go to the army. I am eighteen. It is
just seven days of school left. I have nightmares every night in
that week. I don't know what will happen. I'm fearful. I fear
I'm going to die. I awake after the seventh night and think, now I
have to go. Then I awake one more time, and wonder, what is going
on. Is this reality or is it another dimension? It dawns on me
that I actually am eleven years old and don't have to be a soldier
now.
A Peace Train workshop, is an activity that can be taken on by
anyone interested in peace. Information on Peace Trains can be
found on the World Dreams web site at
http://www.worlddreamspeacebridge.org
Before the workshop Ralf planned, inviting Alex and his cousins,
Ralf also had a many dreams. "I had dreams related to the Peace
Train meeting, showing that his was also for me bringing up issues
of self confidence, creativity, anger, war and peace. But this
wasn't only due to the Peace train activities," Ralf said. "but
a result of the intense dream work related to the Copenhagen
conference and the World Dreams Peace Bridge."
One of Ralf's dreams was this one:
Ripping the Red Rag
There is a deep red cloth right before my face, that fills my
entire field of vision. I grab it with both hands and tear, until
it is beginning to rip in the middle. Through the rip I see blue
skies. Now I see myself sitting there on a table with the cloth
and passing on my work to a boy. He is supposed to continue, what
I have begun.
The work of the Peace Bridge operates on many levels, both in
dreams and in waking reality. Peace Trains were also created in
Australia this month in a workshop led by Victoria Quinton. Nick
Cumbo celebrated A Day Out of Time, the New Year's day of the
Mayan Calendar, and the anniversary of Jeremy Seligson's Peace
Train Dream by having a Peace Train DaFuMu on his web site at
www.dreamofpeace.net
Immediately after the Copenhagen conference, members of the Peace
Bridge held a DaFuMu dreaming for
peace during the NATO meetings
being held in Istanbul, Turkey. Possibly these dreams contributed
to the fact that there was no major outbreak of violence during
the talks. One could hope so, even though not even all members of
the Peace Bridge knew about the DaFuMu dreaming.
Joy Fatooh wrote on July 12:
I've just quickly skimmed through all your writings that came in
while I was away. I gather that there was a DaFuMu last night?
Sorry I missed the announcement, but I didn't miss the DaFuMu! I
stopped at my mom's house on my way back over the mountains and
slept on her floor, and decided I might dream something pertinent
to our discussion about violence and peace to share with you all.

In an overpriced specialty ice cream shop I bought one small scoop
of pistachio and set it on a table while I paid. When I turned
around, a tall, gaunt, scruffy man had taken my ice cream to
another table and was calmly eating it. He looked probably poor,
possibly homeless, and I didn't so much mind him having my ice
cream; but my thought was that it might not be good for me or him
or society if I didn't insist on
something in exchange. So even though I was a little worried that
he might be a bit deranged, I said, "Hey, that was mine - what are
you going to give me for it?"
He just sat there and looked at me while he ate. I said, "You
don't have to pay what I paid for it, but you should give me
something to make it fair." I saw a pile of coins on the table
beside him and asked, "How about one of these quarters?" But he
said, "Those aren't quarters," and on a closer look I saw that
they were some kind of foreign coin.
I asked, "Could I have one for my nephew's coin collection?" He
said,"No, you can't have one of those. But here," he took from his
big coat pocket a double handful of clever little wire sculptures.
They were very nicely made little human figures of shiny black
wire, all posed with various weapons like toy soldiers.
I don't know any kids who play with toy soldiers and I didn't care
for the combative poses myself, but I sorted through them and
chose three hat were unarmed. However, arriving home a moment
later, I realized that I hadn't taken them with me.
I went back - now the place was somehow at the other end of my own
house, near the hot springs - and I was informed that by accepting
three of the figures I had been inducted into some kind of secret
society. The unarmed three I'd chosen were gone. I looked through
the pile again and found three that were armed, yet did not look
aggressive - rather, conveyed a sort of graceful, tai chi-like
readiness. My favorite was a woman with bow and arrow, the drawn
bow forming a lovely curve that led into the curve of her body,
held far forward as she stood on the toes of one forward-striding
foot, somehow incredibly balanced.
"Yes, Balance," the impersonal narrator/voice-over/Dream-Voice-of-
Wisdom
intoned - "Balance is what it's all about."
With an amazing set of synchronicities involving our old friend
the Phoenix and a new member from Sydney, Australia Su Leybourn, a
set children's dreams of peace brought Valley Reed back to the
Peace Bridge. You may remember Valley's dream of the Crow and the
Phoenix which she danced at the ASD Regional Conference in 2002.

m Valley had dropped out of e-mail contact several months ago.
Though the entire story is too long to tell here, toward the end
of July, a post arrived in the contact box on the World Dreams
site from the director of the youth program at a Unity Church in
Dallas, Texas. Children from the church had written cards and
drawn pictures expressing their dreams of peace, which they wanted
to send to children in Iraq. They wondered if we could help them
find somewhere to send them.
Well, of course we knew just the place, as we have been sending
packages to the Seasons Art School in Baghdad for the past several
months, but out of curiosity I asked where the Unity Church in
Dallas might have heard of the Peace Bridge. Through Valley Reed,
of course. She is now on staff at the Dallas Peace Center, one of
the oldest and most respected peace groups in the country.
So the dreams of the children in Dallas connected with the dreams
of the children in Baghdad, and one more contact has been made.
From the children who attend the Seasons Art School, we have begun
to receive individual e-mails. The program at the Seasons Art
School is not a regular school program, but a therapeutic program,
directed by a graduate student from the University of Baghdad,
Emad Hadi. The school sees several hundred children in morning
and afternoon sessions, working with them in art, theater, music,
computers and other means of self expression, attempting to deal
with the effects of war.
So far, in the past month, a dozen children from the school, who
are learning English and computers, have written individual email
notes to the Peace Bridge, and have received in return e-mails,
postcards and letters from individuals on the Bridge. We are
hoping to establish a page on the World Dreams web site, through
which individual children can be paired with others around the
world to develop a true communication.
The Childhoods Voices program, the parent program of the school,
has also set up another program this summer in one of the poorest
districts of Baghdad, the Peace Birds School. This is what they
say about that program:
All over the world, a child wakes up cheerfully every morning with
his/her dreams and ambitions, with the innocent hope, that he/she
will have a future without fear. However, the dreams of our Iraqi
children have become more special, not because of their beauty or
colour, but because of their tragic pain and sorrow. Our Iraqi
children wake up with a big burden of fear, and with no smile.
They are afraid of everything and nothing, because their fear has
become the tangible reality in which they live from day to day.
Their fears range from not being able to reach school because of
the razor wire put by occupation forces in many areas, and
sometimes around their schools, sudden explosions which may occur
at any time, the security situation in the streets which prevents
them from playing with their friends or outside their homes and
even their homes have become unsafe for them. Put simply, Iraqi
children are afraid, from childhood, of annihilation.
Obviously, this is not something they enjoy but is a reality which
is enforced on to them. Therefore, it is our duty to carry the
message of peace with us, so as to implant in the minds of our
birds that they can live in peace. For this reason, "Peace Birds
Art School" has been established in the Al-Dura District.
During the month of July, one final thing has been happening on
the World Dreams Peace Bridge that has to do with the dreams of
children. Brenda Mallon from Manchester, England, author of the
excellent book *Dream Time With Children*, has agreed to send
copies of this book to the teachers in Iraq, and we have begun
conversations with Emad and others in the school about the
possibility of working with the children with their dreams. This
is a delicate activity, of course, but Brenda, who has worked with
children in northern Ireland and other situations involving
conflict, is particularly well-suited to the task of helping
people to understand the role of war and conflict in the dream
lives of children:
"Dreams act as an internal information system--they are messages
from ourselves to ourselves," says Brenda Mallon. "They reveal
inner struggles and expose the complexity of working out who you
are in a confusing world. This is particularly the case for
growing children who find that both the physical and emotional
changes they experience influence their dream life." (13)
By making connection with the dreams of children the world over,
members of the World Dreams Peace Bridge hope to assist in
facilitating a communication between adults and children, and
children with children, that can broaden the field of possible
peaceful interaction.

Crystal Waves: Journey to the Galactic Center
Crystal Moon. White Spectral Wizard Year

The Waves is a newsletter reporting on the explorations underway
at the Sea Life forum. We take a community approach to dreaming,

and the evolutionary path before ourselves and our planet.

During the Crystal Moon, we set off for a 'Journey to the Galactic
Center'. In Maya Cosmogenesis 2012, John Major Jenkins suggests
that the Maya derived their amazing knowledge of the cosmos
through journeys to the galactic center in heightened states of
consciousness. "How can we know for sure?" Jenkins asks, "the only
way to test this theory of course, would be to repeat the
experiment. What would be possible if a team of neo-shamans opened
their mind to the Galactic Center?".
http://sealife.dreamofpeace.net/viewtopic.php?t=1488
While Jenkins affirms that the Mayan ceremonial thrones were often
built as a "hotline of communication with the cosmic center", we
didn't have such luxuries available. Basically, we had to start
from scratch, and so finding a suitable visual gateway became our
first goal. Upon meditating, a rectangular tunnel showed itself to
me. While the shape faded into the depth of darkness behind it, I
felt that we were supposed to travel through it. Interestingly,
Jenkins claims that "astrophysicists now believe that a Black Hole
a Hyperdense object from which even light cannot escape exists
at the center of our galaxy.
"Please allow me to see the beauty of the Center" GreenEyes had
asked before her journey. She was met with a vision of the human
spine, seemingly a reflection that the galactic center is both
within us and without.
"I am looking at a human spinal column against a black
background. The disks are each almost the size of my fist. The rib
bones are as long as my arm, but fade to shadows away from the
spine. I can see the nerves in little bundles running up and down
the spine. I was like, Oh! The Central nervous system, eh? and
admired the beauty of it. After all, that's why I was there....."
THE SIRIUS CONNECTION
ChrisNA felt that the Galactic Center may be in some way related
to Sirius, which he believed to be the origin of this plane. He
set out into meditation with the intention of learning more about
the galactic center. After praying for guidance, protection, and
truth, "something extraordinary happened". A small but symmetrical
symbol appeared.
"An incredible strong, blue-white energy beam from the circle in
the middle - after seemingly traveling light years [though the
feeling didn't feel like any physical distance at all] - hit my
heart chakra and started illuminating my whole body in white-blue
radiance.
I don't know what this means but I on experiencing it, remember
that I have experienced something like that before, but the
lightbeam started from my third eye that time. I was lying in bed
letting go of all my ego, trying to find the center of everything,
and this immensely strong energy beam blasted out of my third eye
into the distance carrying my awareness with it.."
His experience was especially fascinating from a personal
perspective; since this blue-white beam of energy had become a
trademark of our dream journeys to Sirius, undertaken almost a
year ago.
http://www.dreamofpeace.net/thewaves/03sirius/
Intrigued, I decided to follow up with meditation of my own, using
the image he provided as the starting point. I was surprised to
see it unfold into a 3-dimensional structure with a circular base.
A theme later extended through ChrisNA's own meditation
"I had another 'vision' while taking a bath yesterday. It had been
raining the whole day and the forests around me lay in white fog.
I visualized myself surrounded by it - without any clue where I
was or should go. My mind steady; a bright-bluish light beam
[similar to the one I experienced the other day, but not at all
filled with energy - just simply a light ray] shone through the
fog to my heart chakra. I followed it until I came to it's origin.
I recognized it as Sirius, but unlike the previous time there was
only positive energy radiating form it, not everything- the
center piece remained the same, the smaller circles around it
changed from black to white correspondently. I asked myself what
this means and it transformed instantly to deliver the answer. The
image transformed into a three-dimensional cone-shape structure,
which entered my heart chakra and created another structure
(similar, but black, not white) at the back.
I was floating in space. I realized what I previously puzzled
over, what these higher and lower dimensions mean; me saying
'higher and lower' was confusing, they are infact negative and
positive dimensions, with eternal bliss on one end (the white
cone) and misery on the other (black cone at the back). I
understood that enlightenment (I don't particularly like the word)
is the transcendation of both positive and negative, because both
are just two sides of the same coin of us and we won't
identify with ourselves as long we identify with one side. Infact
'ourselves' are the energy of the cosmos, and no subjective mind."
THE POWER OF FLIGHT
Waterstarrainbow made a number of fascinating attempts at
journeying to the galactic center. One of which began after
becoming conscious in a dream, and looking up to the night sky.
"There are hundreds of stars. I see what first looks like a leaf
actually turn into an umbrella. I think of the Galactic center and
I am trying to get the umbrella to come back to me. I turn around
and see a car and I wish with my body and ask for the unbrellla to
be in the car. I see that it is. I grab it and I am willling it to
go up. It is slowly doing this, but what makes it fly off was
actually just letting it happen. I'm flying very fast and very
high. I am getting nervous and scared and decide to wake up."
Some of my own attempts at journeying there left me with similar
fears; perhaps an unwillingness of the ego to let go, and become
propelled by a force beyond words. One quickly comes to understand
why such a task was left to experienced shamans. Eager to succeed,
I set out into conscious dreaming to meet my spirit guide, and to
ask for assistance.
"I decide to ask him if he can help me with the dreaming adventure
to the galactic center. Next thing I know his earlier fading form
has disappeared. He's shape shifted. Now before me lie a large
group of seagulls flying into the sky.
I decide this would be the perfect opportunity to call on the
guidance of my totem animal. Remembering a trick Waterstarrainbow
used, I bring my totem animal into manifestation using my
intention. A group of pigeons materialize beneath my hands.
Without waiting, they begin to rise up into the sky. I'm dazzled,
and especially intrigued by the heights to which they rise. As
they come back closer to ground level, a transition takes place,
and I attempt to shift into my true pigeon form.
Unfortunately, I'm not such a good flyer as the rest of the group
are. I'm caught between half human, half pigeon awareness.
Watching the pigeons in flight, I begin to realize something. That
pigeons don't just flap their wings at every opportunity; they are
patient and graceful, and flap only when required. This is the
secret to flying.
Not only this, but the pigeon doesn't just fly in any old
direction. You have to follow the way of the wind and move with
it. It's still possible to shape the direction of your own
personal journey, yet you need to attune your path to the
direction of the wind. I experiment with this new found power of
flight, knowing that I still have a lot of learning ahead of me."
This attempt to reach the galactic center taught me about the
power of calling on one's totem animal, and the month ended up
filled with some extended coaching from the pigeon family, in the
art of flight.
THE GALACTIC LIBRARY
Setting her intention for a dream about the galactic center,
Waterstarrainbow keyed us into the Galactic Library, seemingly a
storehouse of galactic knowledge.
"Me and a large group of people were on our way to somewhere. It
was somewhere in the galaxy. We were standing in a huge room; this
was the galactic library! A little cute bug had landed on my
shoulder and it wanted to go home, although it's grip sometimes
dug into my skin. Me and the group were standing over a huge map
of the universe and the little big pointed out where it lived on
the map. I asked someone if we could go there but they said that
they didn't have the right co-ordinates (or technology??) to get
there but it would be ready in a few hours.
This began a series of dreams about the Galactic Library. A few
nights later, I found myself returning to what appeared to be the
very same library. Not once, but twice. Here I found great numbers
of books about '3d worlds', and dreaming and waking consciousness.
In an earlier dream, I had found myself reading a book called "The
Pleidian Agenda'. The book made mention that the Earth was
actually a Mobile Phone, and that to make use of it, we had to
touch down on the keypad. I found such an analogy intriguing, and
wondered if it might relate to an image of 'Timeship Earth 2013',
in which we activate our awareness of the Earth's rainbow body,
through daily meditation synchronized with the 13 Moon Calendar.
Reentering the library, I found to my surprise that my ordinary
mobile phone now had new features. It could not only receive radio
but also colour TV transmissions. The dream left me wondering
about Earth's place in the galaxy, and the use of meditation and
dreaming to facilitate communication with the larger world,
communication of the intergalactic variety.
Just as we were nearing the end of the project, I had one last
dream, in which I found myself watching a security camera, where I
could clearly see Sunwolf making his way into the library. The
experience had me intrigued; I couldn't help wondering what book
he might have received. My question was answered only a day or so
later, by a dream of his own.
"I was on a new bed, and a guy next to me was on another new bed.
We were on a track and this car pulled us ahead, really fast. So
fast, I had to grab his arm and I told him I hoped he didn't mind.
He understood I would fly off if I didn't. We heard this woman's
voice, she was from the factory, asking if the beds were
comfortable, even tho we were going at a fast pace down the track?
I guess we agreed it was darn comfortable, despite the bumpy ride.
Then we got to the end of the track, somewhere in downtown
Boulder. There was some flirting between me and this guy, a
Mexican, when I looked up at the sky. It wasn't dark yet, but I
saw this jewel of a light, pulsating. I asked him if he saw it. He
said yes. It seemed like the center of the universe, and I felt
some cosmic shift was happening, perhaps ascension. Then a huge
newspaper flew up and tried to block out the jewel of light, then
I heard radio and TV try to blare it out, but the jewel kept
shining.
Comments: The symbol of the jewel of light was very neat. I felt
this consciousness, kinda like they scene in 2001 A Space Odyssey,
where the monkeys were touching the vibrating slab of stone. It
seems the symbols of the newspaper, TV and Radio were our culture
and news of the day trying to drown out our spiritual evolution.
But from all the problems and troubles in the world, people forget
that more people marched and stood for peace, world-wide, in
greater numbers than ever before"
Perhaps the significance of the Galactic Center, is that it helps
us to remember!

A black tornado followed by a white tornado, an erupting volcano,
bright purple spiders, a big snake, puppets jumping out the
television with knives, a shattered horse, and birthing a black
rabbit...sounds like a new Tim Burton movie, doesn't it? Actually
they are in the Electric Dreams Dream Section. Be sure to read
all of these dreams! If you want to send in dreams, please enter
them at dreamflow@dreamgate.com.
Dream title: death
Dream date: 7/1/04
Dreamer's name: "A"
Dream: I was at my boyfriend's house with him and his cousin who
was with some girl. My boyfriend and I were in his room. His
cousin and this girl were in the other room. This guy broke in and
he killed the woman and hit my boyfriend's cousin. My boyfriend's
cousin was unconscious. This guy came into my boyfriend's room
and my boyfriend was kissing on my stomach. This guy came in and
threw me into the wall. I was so weak I couldn't move. He sliced
my wrists and on one arm it said "jack killed" and on the other
arm it said "me". He left me bleeding. My boyfriend came over and
laid me on his bed and was crying. There was blood everywhere and
my boyfriend's cousin came running in yelling about the girl and
saw me. Then he read my arms and saw my boyfriend just lying in
my blood crying. He told his cousin to call 911 and the ambulance
came and took me into the ambulance. My boyfriend was with me and
before they could pull off I died.
Dream comments: I really want to know what this means... it scared
me so much. I woke up from it and had to look at my arms. When I
laid back down to go to sleep I kept redreaming it. Please I would
really like to know what this dream means.
Dream title: Really strange predictive dream
Dream date: 1979-present
Dreamer's name: jdlech
Dream: This dream first made me feel as if I were flying through
the room, then it progressed to flying outside. Then it moved on
to me being somewhere not of this universe. It's very hard to
describe because where I was had no physical location. Thoughts
were physical forces just as gravity and electricity are physical
forces here. You cannot see them, but you can feel them and
witness their effect on other things. The best way to describe it
is that I saw the whole course of human events in its entirety.
Quite understandably, I was totally overwhelmed by it all. It was
all I could do to watch the overall picture pass by while noting
only a few details. Of the overall picture, I can tell
unequivocally that human events are not a single line nor are they
a multiple universe sort of thing. History is immutable and cast
while the future is a set of probabilities and possibilities. And
the influence of all the organizations and entities are all
manipulating the present in order to produce what they think are
the best possible future for themselves. I saw events that will
never happen as well as events that have happened and others that
should happen but their time has not yet come. But time is not an
immutable thing. There is no set time for any particular event.
Not even the weather has an established time for which specific
events occur.
Dream comments: This recurring dream occurs clearly about two or
three times per year. But there are also dozens of times during a
year that I will dream some dim reflection of it. In fact, I've
grown to look forward to having this dream since I usually wake up
feeling better than normal, more relaxed, tolerant of others, and
even a bit pacifistic. To date, I've never been able to control
anything, merely to look on passively.
Dream title: Two tornados
Dream date: 1977-84
Dreamer's name: jdlech
Dream: I had a recurring dream that always start out with me on a
grass covered ledge looking down upon a large village. From the
storm clouds overhead comes two tornados, one after the other.
The first tornado is black and totally destructive. Everything is
destroyed down to every blade of grass, every bone in the body,
every piece of wood; the destruction is absolute. But everything
goes up the first tornado and down the second one. The second
tornado is white and it puts everything back in its proper place
all the way down to each blade of grass. After the second
tornado, all is exactly as it was before.
Dream comments: I had this dream several times from the ages of 10
to 17. Interpreting this dream is relatively straightforward.
Dream title: confusion
Dream date: 6/29/2004
Dreamer's name: L
Dream: I'm at someone's house and I'm seeing a volcano erupting
very close. Everyone is sleeping so I'm trying to tell them but
next thing there are no walls in the house and the lava chunks
start flying and rolling. I'm scared. I think I remember kicking
one back out of the house. Then the floor was covered in water so
I ended up leaving and had to start over somewhere else, like a
school or something. I was noticed by this nice woman. When I
went into her house I saw that she had a BAD spider problem and I
was seeing all kinds of spiders. Bright purple. She had this bad
bite on her face and I noticed that her eye wouldn't open all the
way, kind of like she had an abscess. I ended up getting the bite
on my face and I remember trying to pop it. I remember seeing my
eye roll down, not out, but up. Then I could see some sort of
mechanical yucky stuff.
Dream title: The step sister
Dream date: 4/20/2004
Dreamer's name: anonymous
Dream: my step sister was trying to kill me because of what I told
her. She had started to tell me 'I going to chop you' and all
kinds of horrible things.
Dream comments: Really she and I don't like each other. I just
want to known what this means. She does witchcraft. Is she trying
to scare me or what?
Dream title: Weird
Dream date: 06/26/2004
Dreamer's name: mizS
Dream: I went to a candles shop where you can make them. Someone
took me over to a sandbox over on the floor and told me that's how
we make candles and to dig for the clay, so I did. Out came the
tip of a worm. At first I left alone but then it got bigger and
bigger and it came at me. It was huge and mean.
Dream comments: So what does that mean? It was so weird.
Dream title: discarded
Dream date: 6/26/2004
Dreamer's name: H
Dream: I am in a room, I think a basement, that contains piles of
used junk up to the ceiling, old and discarded stuff. Second hand
stuffed animals that are ripped exposing yellowed stuffing is all
I distinctly remember. I am there for what seems quite awhile. I
sleep in there and dream I am in a room/world hard to describe.
It's so vivid I think it's real. Best example I can give is
mostly black with a gigantic rectangular window and dark blues.
The window frame looks like a Van Gogh painting or something and
outside the window is dark-blue with intermittent flashes of light
with treacherous ascending hills leading up to a huge abandoned
house. It's a haunted house and the people in this world do not
go into the house. I am climbing the hill and I get adjacent to
the house, though it is quite some distance away and I can only
see it in outlines. I remember seeing all the way through the
house as the windows were very large and I couldn't see anything
inside the house. I vaguely recall being in the house. All I
remember from that is not feeling right at all, and walking on
ashes.
Dream title: This road with crosses
Dream date: February 2004-ish
Dreamer's name: K
Dream: I am at a restaurant with people I went to high school
with. I am sitting with my friends and ex-boyfriend. My ex-
boyfriend is telling jokes but besides that no one is talking to
me. I have no ride home so I get in the van with my friend and
ex. My friend is driving and doesn't know the way to my house
even though I am telling her. We are on a skinny winding road in
the forest on the side of a hill. We keep passing this clearing
that is on a bend of the road. Next to it are three cement
crosses, the one in the center is the tallest with purple jewels
in the middle of each one. Next to the crosses down the hill is
some sort of sports stadium. My friends in the car have quit
talking to me and this ride seems to take an hour. I finally get
to my house and my ex opens my door for me. I say we'll talk
again and he says "I doubt it" and hugs me.
Dream comments: Any thoughts?
Dream title: my old friend
Dream date: 21 Jun 2004
Dreamer's name: M
Dream: I have some dreams about my old friend.
First dream: I was in bed with a man and we are both naked. Our
bodies were covered by a gold blanket. He inserted the gold ring
in my right hand. I felt the guy was my old friend.
The second dream: I was in a bridge and I saw my old friend
walking in the land part near the bridge. I stopped the car. I
followed him. He went to the last house, unfortunately, and I
failed to see him. I asked where he is leaving. I saw him entered
to a certain house but they told me that they never saw him.
The third dream: I was in an oval field, standing in the circle
path. There is a young man at my back, he is my old friend. I am
waiting for him. I am standing while he is walking near to me from
my back. I am just looking at him and waiting for him. He hugged
me from my back when he reached me. Then we hugged each other. I
introduced him to my parents. After that, my parents left us. We
stayed in a room and slept together.
Dream comments: I haven't seen this man for about 2 years. I loved
my old friend much. We were close friends before we felt the
romance. We both stopped it for a while because it was not the
right time. I thought we have connections. I can feel when he is
there in my side. Please help me what these dreams meant.
Dream title: Grocery shopping
Dream date: none
Dreamer's name: herennow
Dream: I was in a supermarket pushing a cart but the cart was
lower than normal; I needed to bend over to push it. Without
warning, an old Vietnamese woman took my eggs from my shopping
cart.
Dream comments: I know there is symbolism here but I can't make
sense of it.
Dream title: Eagle and Snake Attack
Dream date: 6/19/04
Dreamer's name: anonymous
Dream: Last night I dreamt that I was living in a house on a hill.
The place was very rustic and the hill was rusty red with soil,
not green. My daughter and I were at the bottom of the hill.
Suddenly, I saw a big cobra or python coming towards me. It
grabbed on to my arm and I started spinning with my arm out in
order to throw it off, but it started constricting on my arm a
little. Finally, I managed to get it off. Then this big, giant
eagle came down from the sky and started attacking me. It had
really sharp claws and it scratched as I was trying to defend
myself. It was trying to bite me with its beak too. I was so
scared, but my daughter (who was a lot bigger now, it was like we
were sisters) and I started running up the hill and into the
house. We got inside and slammed the door shut right before the
eagle came in. Very scary.
Then the dream switched and I went to my parents' house or some
family member's house. It seemed like an apartment in the city,
but one of those ghetto-type apartment buildings with the long
hallways. As I was walking in, I saw a couple of guys wearing
nothing but towels. Then I went downstairs to the basement and
there was an Indian woman (a teacher) teaching something about
spirituality, I think. The guys in the towels were there too, but
I'm not sure if they were paying attention.
Dream comments: By the way, before I went to sleep last night, I
asked to be given a dream that will show me how I can be truly
happy.
Dream title: none
Dream date: none
Dreamer's name: anonymous
Dream: Last night I had an extremely emotional, uplifting and
faith-renewing dream. The dream started out that we were all
waking up. I was in the bed with my husband, but he was still
sleeping. My sister was awake and so was my father, but my mother
was still sleeping. I sat up in bed next to my husband because I
was hearing these weird sounds, like a whispered conversation. I
realized that I was listening to his dream. I looked out the
window which was huge and right near the bed and was able to see
some images from his dream before they disappeared. Then I was
suddenly next to my mother. In her dream, I heard screams and
fighting, like a little girl trying to defend herself or something
like that. When I looked out the window, I saw three men,
possibly military, holding my father's hands behind his back and
taking him away. Strange.

Dream: Here is one of those dreams that are hard to describe or
understand. I'm at someone's house...and I'm seeing a volcano
erupting very close. Everyone is sleeping so I'm trying to tell
them but next thing there is no walls in the house and the lava
chunks start flying and rolling. I'm scared and I think I
remember kicking one back out of the house.
Then everyone was awake. My mother came into the house from
outside (or maybe it was my mom's sister) saying that my
grandmother had just died. We were all shocked, but no one cried
right away. I was the first one to start crying hard and I went
to hug my mother. She acted like if I was a little ridiculous for
crying the way I did. It seemed like everyone was kind of
unaffected, although it was evident that they were just in shock
and didn't know how to react. Then, some of my cousins showed up
and some other people from my father's family started showing up.
I took the opportunity to go to my parent's room (in my childhood
apartment in the city) and lock the door and be by myself. I lay
down on their bed and cried. Then I got up from the bed and
started saying "Why God? Why now? I was just a few weeks away
from going to see her. Why didn't I get the chance to go and see
her?" I was so upset about that. I felt like if I had just
narrowly missed her. As I was saying that, I was looking up at
the ceiling and the light, when suddenly the light either blinked
or moved (not sure, but something happened out of the ordinary).
I kept crying.
Then I went outside into the living room and I was telling my
parents the same thing, about how I was just a couple of weeks
away from being with my grandmother. I looked up at the ceiling
fan/light and realized that on the base of it, it had a smiley
face on it. I looked up at it and said, "Grandma, I wish you were
here" and suddenly, the whole entire fan moved in a circular
motion. I was shocked and told everyone to look up at the fan. I
started talking again to the fan saying in Spanish "Grandma, I
miss you so much. I really wish that I would've had a chance to
see you again." Again, the fan moved. Everyone was shocked. I
was so happy and excited at the realization that my grandmother
was not gone. So, I said," Grandma, you're still here, you're
still here" The smiley face seemed to smile wider and the fan
moved in an even more obvious way. I was ecstatic at the
realization that my grandmother had not gone anywhere, she had
merely lost her body, but she was here after all. I was so happy.
At this point, the dream ended.
Dream comments: Before I had this dream, I asked God to show me in
a clear manner what my life wants for me (as opposed to what I
want from my life) within the next two years, with regards to my
career. When I woke up from the first dream I felt that my
question was answered. The message that I heard in my head said
"Don't despair". This fits in perfectly with the dream I had just
had, where I was in complete despair about Abuela's passing, all
to figure out at the end that she hadn't gone anywhere. She was
here all along, just not in the same form. She was waiting for
someone to realize that she in fact, still existed. Very symbolic.
I cried when I woke up from this dream and I thanked God and my
spirit guides a million times for blessing me with such an
insightful and uplifting dream. I feel like I just received a
special, personalized gift. It means so much to me when I have
these dreams that serve to confirm my spiritual beliefs about
life.

Dream date: 24 Jun 2004
Dreamer's name: rjj202
Dream: I had this dream a couple nights ago and me and a bunch of
my friends were at a party at some really big hotel with my
friends from school and out of school(we were all drunk).
There were these guys that my best friend and I used to hang out
with before (and one of them liked me). At the party, they had
gotten rooms for us in groups and we go up. My best friend and
the guy she likes went to find their room. When they found it the
door was already open, so they go in and sit on the floor in the
middle of the two beds. Two of our other friends go to their room
which was in between the room we were going to and the one my
friends were in. The guy and I go to our room and we find the
door already open. He turns around (and I followed) and goes down
the stairs to get keys. Then he realizes that the door was
already open so we go back up. Something happened and we start
chasing each other around the room, and then we went to the bed in
front of the t.v and laid there. All of a sudden this little girl
with short brown hair comes in and comes and sits in the corner of
the bed on my side and stares at the guy. We ask her what you are
doing here. She says I want to make out with you (to the guy) so I
ask her how old are you anyway. She says 7!!! I start laughing,
but the guy says ok. So she leans forward and he kind of backs up
but she leans more towards him and does something on/to his lips
(I didn't see) but he goes...ooh eeew gross...GET OUT! So she
leaves and I woke up.

Dream: In my old school where I have to go to the class where a
member of family is waiting for me to bring them to a higher
grade. At first I cannot find the person but later I do find him.
I enter my new classroom where I meet my new teacher who is
dressed in a white laboratory coat and is very small. I make the
remark that it doesn't matter he is very small and I'm rather
tall. {Which is in real life it's true - 2 meters}. I'm going to
learn from his machine which is situated in the new classroom. I
see this new machine floating on a flat wooden crate through water
which is at both sides fenced by brick stone walls. I mentioned to
the small white dressed teacher not to have it floating to the
lake and we managed to pick it up. I am catching with a fishing
rod a big eel out of the water and then throwing the line back
into the water again. I notice that lead sinking weight has the
form of an obelix. I notice that I have a catch. The water is
stirring strongly and I see that I caught a black rabbit. All this
fishing happens in the water fenced by brick stone walls. On an
island in a swampy lake now with 2 two white dressed teachers with
the machine, were they are going to teach me about the workings of
the machine. End

and killing us all for about a year now. The last dream, I see the
meteor coming fast. It's dark grey and there is a slice taken out
of it. As its hitting I embrace a hug of a man who's next to me. I
don't really know who he was but I remember appreciating life and
love at that moment. I close my eyes and wait a few seconds, and
then nothing happens. Then there is joy and somehow it
disappeared.

and there is nothing mankind will be able to do to stop it.

Dream title: Bus Dream
Dream date: 4 Jul 2004
Dreamer's name: Sapphyre
Dream: I dreamt of being on a bus going to work, but the driver
got up on a ramp under construction and couldn't go any further.
There was just us on the bus and we got off and were on an
interstate that was barren. Suddenly we were in a very odd town.
By odd I mean I've never seen this place, on television, in real
life, nowhere. We went into a bus depot and I waited for another
bus, but somehow we both missed it. Then I was at home I think,
or had made it to work, and was getting all these notes from my
boss. This was significant because she didn't think she wrote
them but I assured her she did because it was in her handwriting
and written in light blue ink (like from one of those gel pens).
Dream comments: I'm still unemployed so there is no real boss, and
I never saw her face she was to my back as I was talking to her
looking over my shoulder at the notes. The bus driver was a black
man, no one I've ever seen, not an actor I've seen or anything. I
was left with a sensation upon waking of being lost and
frustrated. In the dream I worried I'd be fired because I couldn't
get to work. I have an idea where this one came from but thoughts
are welcome.

Dream title: Nightmare on my street/in my parking lot
Dream date: 7/5/04
Dreamer's name: God's Angel
Dream: I was looking outside my bedroom window and I saw my father
sitting on the step closes to the entrance. It was a dark night
and I saw a child running down the parking lot. He looked as
though he was 6 or 7 yrs old. He ran fast and appeared to have a
smile on his face. Right behind him was a group of people trying
to catch him. Older and younger people ran after him. I saw him
run all the way down to the end of the parking lot. My father
eventually got up from the step he was sitting on and looked
towards the direction the boy was heading. I was stunned to see
my father in this dream because he never looked up to where I was
or knew I lived there. He just remained calm and quiet and looked
to where the boy was running. I looked down at my father for one
last time and looked toward the end of the parking lot. I
couldn't see that far. After 5 minutes went by, I heard a gun
shot. At that moment I woke up from the dream.
Dream comments: My father has been dead for 8 years now and passed
away on December 31, 1996. I don't know why I had this dream or
why my father never looked up at me. Maybe he guards my house or
he wants to stay close by.
Dream title: Monster Truck
Dream date: 07/07/04
Dreamer's name: The One
Dream: I went into the garage and got in my vehicle, I proceeded
to let the garage door up. My car was facing the alley, so I was
ready to pull out. There was the over-sized, huge red monster-
looking truck facing me. I use the word monster only to describe
how huge the truck was. The truck appeared to be revved-up and
ready. When I noticed the truck was coming full speed ahead
towards me. I immediately tried to let the garage door down with
the opener. The garage door came down on the truck. However, the
truck backed up and came after me again. But, I woke up with a
bad headache, wondering what that was all about.

was I was standing in front of the frog and I signaled it to get
out of my room. It just stayed and jumped for a long while. But
its like I'm dribbling a basketball with glue or something,
because it won't get away from me.

Dream title: Big Wheels
Dream date: 7/7/2004
Dreamer's name: Moonlight
Dream: I was standing with my friend out in front of the High
School that I attended when I was young, but as the age that I am
now. Older people, senior citizens, were riding out of the front
doorway of the school on bikes, big bikes, which grew bigger as
they pedaled. The people were dressed in biking attire, colorful
pads, and helmets. And the bikes themselves were very colorful:
neon oranges and pinks. It's hard to describe the bikes: they were
mostly wheel, but more like a really big, really long balloon (no
spokes) and at least 1 story tall. The bikers were very high up on
the tip top of these balloon-like wheels, and there was a pedal on
each wheel way at the top. The wheels were side by side, not front
to back, like an upside down V, with the biker at the top of the
V. There were about 3 or 4 bikers that pedaled past, and then the
last one wiped out and came crashing down and couldn't get back
up. It looked kind of funny, but other bikers went to help the one
that fell down.
Dream comments: What do you think this means? I'm very interested
to know!!!
Dream title: Father travels from the balcony to the ground
Dream date: July 9/10 2004

Dream: Scene: Balcony of two-story building or hotel. My father
was being lifted down to the ground by two people, helpers in
white. One of the helpers had my dad by the feet. I don't know
where the other helper was or if there even was another helper but
I believe there was. I have no idea how he had my father or if he
was standing on the cab of a truck or something. As he was going
down I was scared to death. My dad said they do this all the time.
When my father got to the ground his hands almost touched the
ground I think, or got pretty close from the jump
Dream title: Cancer scare

Dream title: A Spider and a Cat...
Dream date: 7/10/2004
Dreamer's name: Moonlight
Dream: Last night I dreamed that I was back at my mom and dad's
house where I grew up. I was trying to make a cake - mixing the
batter, a yellow cake mix, when a fat spider dropped down from the
ceiling and right into the batter! (I am very afraid of spiders-
any size). So I stepped back and just watched it, and it slowly
started to pull itself out of the batter with its web. But then it
kind of swung a little past the bowl and dropped back down and
onto the cupboard into a bunch of peanut butter cookie crumbs that
I had been nibbling on. The crumbs stuck to the spider and its
web, but the spider still managed to pull itself back up a little.
Then, out of nowhere came a little orange cat that swatted the
sticky, cookie spider across the kitchen. I jumped back into the
living room because I didn't want the spider anywhere near me. The
cat tossed the messy spider up in the air and whipped it around
and back to the other side of the kitchen. Then I saw the spider's
web was all over the room!
Dream comments: It's another of my weird dreams. What does it
mean?
Dream title: The dream of The Shaman.
Dream date: July 7 2004
Dreamer's name: ALF
Dream: My dream starts off just like any other day: get up go to
bathroom then go to the kitchen. But there are people that I
don't know in a house that I have no recollection of getting to.
It switches: Now, I am sitting in a circle the people I don't
know. We are sitting and being very attentive to this American
Indian. He talks us into a meditative state. Then the vision
starts. He says to me "You are a very special girl; I don't know
why you do not want to accept who you are...Look inside and stop
lying to yourself. If you are lost contact your spirit for further
help." Then it starts to rain. Everyone wakes up and looks at me
for some odd reason. We all including the shaman go to the house I
don't even recognize.
Dream comments: I have very odd dreams especially if I am thinking
on how to turn my life around to make it better....Who knows it
might be the future!

floor. Someone had broken in. I was so afraid it would get me, my
insecurities took over. For some reason there was a pistol in my
pocket. I went to the kitchen and there it was the killer. A beast
with a terrible smile on its face, covered in blood. Without
hesitation I shot it. It lay there dead I was still afraid. I
closed my eyes then woke up.

and talked awhile and said, "You are alive!" He said, "Yeah I came
to tell you". We were talking without words though, just our
minds. He said he was happy and left.
Dream comments: My stepson Joe was killed in a car accident in

string sugar all over it, it was really cute, and I started eating

Dream title: Flower from heaven
Dream date: 1st March 1999
Dreamer's name: Solomon
Dream: It was very cold outside and I was playing with old friends
of mine, (can't remember exactly). I decided to go inside the
house and I happened to look up in the sky. Then I noticed that
there's something in the sky. I strongly concentrated on the sky
and I saw a flower. I called my brother and my sister to come and
witness this. As we were watching this with disbelief, the flower
changed into a little kid. Surprisingly the child started to
crawl, then slowly coming towards us. As this child came closer I
noticed that it was a boy. Suddenly he opened his arms and there
was something that was written in his palms like a post card. It
was a massage and I read it "what ever you do I'll be with you,
I'll be watching you". Then it disappeared in the sky. We went
inside the house but I was still shocked and I was excited but I
couldn't express myself.
Dream comments: I think there's this special gift that I have but
I it doesn't come out clear.
Dream title: Angel visited my house
Dream date: 08 January 2003
Dreamer's name: Solomon
Dream: I was at home at home my boyfriend and my daughter were
also there. Outside it looked dark and strange. I felt that
something strange is about to happened. I told them that it would
be better for us not to look or be outside because we are not
supposed to see what's happening outside.
We went to bed (the three of us). While my child was praying the
front door was open and my mother was speaking loudly and she was
with her husband. I became worried because we were sleeping on
their bed. While I was still wondering my elder sister came in, I
was surprised because I thought that she was in the other bedroom
with her family, because her boyfriend was very sick.
A wounded man showed up and my sister explained to us that this
man just came behind her, scared her and she thrown something to
him that is why he's bleeding. I looked at the man closely and I
realized that, this man is an angel. I was so disappointed and I
spoke with a shameful voice, "I'm sorry sir for what happened to
you, may you forgive us". The men wiped his face with the cloth. I
turned around and said to my mother, "This man is an Angel, and
don't you realize that? Don't you read the bible? Look I am
standing at the door and knocking. If anyone hears me my voice and
open the door, I will come into his house and take the evening
meal with him". My mother answered me without caring, "how do you
know that this is an Angel and if he is an Angel, why is he
attacking your sister?" I looked at the man and I humbled myself
to him then I said to him, "I know you re an Angel". I turned
around and looked at my family and told them that "I think you
should read the bible, in Revelations it is said that blessed are
those who listen and hears my voice when I stand at the door
knocking and opens the door. I will come to their house and eat
with them." I felt spiritually matured and the man stood up and
he said, "I should be going now". I knew he was an Angel, I felt
that this man came to destroy the wicked and that was the reason
why we were not to be found outside.
After he closed the door my mother started arguing about it.
Quickly I thought that Angels are spirits and I told my mother to
go out and see if she could see that men walking down the street.
When she rushed to the door, her friend entered and she looked
shocked. She asked about this man, "who is this man?" She paused,
no one answered her and she told us that, as I came I looked at
this man and he vanished. We looked at each other and I was
pleased that someone saw that.
Later we were in an open place there was a hill there while my
child was praying, my boyfriend was sitting next to me. My
sister's child was sat toward the top of the hill and she threw
the first baby to me and I told myself that this child is for my
sister. Later he threw another one and this one landed nicely into
my hands and I told myself that this is my child and I putted him
aside and looked up again at her. She threw the same baby (first)
again and the baby fell into my hands but not as nicely as mine. I
was surprised and shocked where do these kids come from but I was
pleased with mine.
Dream comments: Some of things are dreamed of come true. Like this
one, my sister got her baby in June 2004 and I'm sure I'm the next
one to conceive, after trying for more than 15 years.
Dream title: The vision of Jesus face
Dream date: 21 December 2002
Dreamer's name: Solomon
Dream: I was in the room with other people but I don't remember
exactly who I was with. It was late at night and I was sitting in
another room. Others were sitting in the next room. I sense a very
strong attraction and looked towards that side. I saw the wall
moving forming an image. I looked closely and that was the face of
Jesus Christ. I moved my eyes away from there because I thought
I'm getting crazy. I looked down for a while trying to clear my
mind and to see whether what I saw is true.
Slowly I looked at the same place again but nothing happened and I
wanted to tell someone about this but I couldn't. I stood there
watching; just when I thought of moving out from that room the
vision started forming again. And it was the same face of the Lamb
and it clearly showed up. I was shocked and stand still for while
staring at it.
Dream comments: When I woke up I was very pleased and I believe
that I carry a special gift from God.
Dream title: Welcome Home 113
Dream date: 07/13/04
Dreamer's name: dreamer
Dream: I dreamed I was on a date with this guy, he was taking me
and my daughter swimming. I was going to change my clothes and a
lady told me my tattoo could not be seen. I told her I didn't have
a tattoo. So she pointed to it and it said Demetrius. I was in
shock. I came back out from changing my clothes and I heard
someone calling my name, and it was Demetrius. So I ran to him
forgetting my date and we hugged and talked for awhile. When I
got to him I realized that he had a lot of jewelry on with the
number 113. I saw my date walk away shaking his head at me.
Demetrius asked who he was and I told him he was my date. He got
upset, but he shrugged it off and asked me if I wanted to get
something to eat. So we got in his car which was red and yellow
and on his seats the number 113 where on them. So we went out to
eat and then we went back to my place and we got in an argument
about my date, then he apologized and he got on his knee and was
about to ask me something, but I was awakened by the phone.

Dream comments: I just lost my baby by a miscarriage 6weeks ago.
The new baby in the dream I could not take my eyes off him. And
right now I am trying for other baby. Could this be a sign? What
did this dream mean?
Dream title:
none
Dream date: 16 Jul 2004
Dreamer's name: JR
Dream: I keep having dreams that my husband is not being faithful
to me.
Dream comments: I keep having these dreams that he is having sex
with another woman. He tells me time and time again that he
respects the whole husband thing and that he loves me and my
children and that he would never do anything to hurt me.
Please help!
Dream title: fishbowl
Dream date: few years
Dreamer's name: J
Dream: I dreamt I took a fish from a fishbowl and killed it. I was
relieved that there two more fish alive and swimming around.
Dream title: The Black Horse
Dream date: around a year ago
Dreamer's name: "power dreamer"
Dream: I am running with a beautiful black horse down a wide path
lined with trees. We are going very very fast, and I'm running
neck and neck with him. I find great joy in this and laugh in my
dream. We are running and running, and I can see the trees fly
past us, one after the other boom boom boom. I can see them
coming up on the horizon as we start to climb up a hill. The
grass is very very green on either side of the path. Suddenly,
the horse takes off at tremendous speed, and I can't keep up with
him. He is flying over the stones down the long path as it curves
over the hill in front of him. Suddenly a white stone barn
appears at the end of the path, many trees on either side of it.
The horse cannot stop and he careens into the side of the barn and
breaks into a million pieces. He screams (as he hits it and
shatters) a horse-ish scream that I've never heard in waking.
Sobbing, I begin to pick up bits of the horse (which I realize is
mine) and carry him off in my arms. I wake up with a scream.
Dream comments: I have had several dreams about horses being
mistreated or killed, the most notable being a horse autopsy. I
believe these were stress dreams about not being in control and
fearful of the future; mostly due to the fact that I was about to
leave for my first year of college.
Dream title: "The Ships"
Dream date: A year ago
Dreamer's name: Power Dreamer
Dream: I am on a raft made of small logs and quilts. It almost
seems I'm floating on a quilt, with a quilt for a sail. I am on
the blue sparkling ocean; it's rather warm, with a bright sky.
There comes a huge cruise ship and it looms very very close to me.
(I am watching my self on the raft at this point, and I can see
the people on the big ship as well). There are people looking
over the sides of the ship, and an announcement comes on, a male
voice saying something like "Patrons, we are about to release the
cargo. Those of you with weak stomachs might want to step back
from the sides of the ship." Momentarily, a door opens in the
side of the ship, and thousands of dead bodies are let out into
the sea all around my little raft. (I am back in the raft at this
point) I am horrified, the twisted bloated bodies are extremely
vivid in my dream, and I distinctly remember the stench of dead
bodies hanging in the air, with all these empty faces floating by
me and lapping up against the side of my raft. I scream and wake
up.
Dream comments: You should have seen the look on my boyfriend's
face when I told him about that one.
Dream title: drugs
Dream date: 7/16/04
Dreamer's name: mj
Dream: I was at my friend's house hanging out with friends when I
realized they were doing heroin and speed in pill tablet form. I
found the pills and was really scared so I decided to rinse them
down the sink. They some how evaporated into my skin and all of
the sudden I was tripping out
Dream comments: This really freaked me out because I have never
done those drugs and I don't understand why they were in my dream
or what them meant but I felt like I was really on them when I was
dreaming
Dream title: death of an ex
Dream date: 07/18/04
Dreamer's name: wrong era
Dream: The dream occurs in a building in which I have reoccurring
dreams, although the dreams have different themes the place is the
same. It seems to be hotel, yet it is where I live. One wall is
missing and I can walk outside, up a hill to other dwellings. I
am sitting on a sofa, and become aware that my ex-husband is dead.
But there seems to be other things more important to me: the
washing machine in the other room. It is an old fashion wringer
washer and I don't understand why it is a problem. I seem to be
alone still and I sense there are other people in the room but I
can't see them. I am not sad about the death of my ex but
something deep inside is troubling me. I never move off the sofa I
continue to look at my surroundings.
Dream comments: The hotel/ house is very old and is the back drop
for many of my dreams for the last 10 years. It seems to be from
the late 20's or early 30's.
Dream title: The Black Rabbit
Dream date: 20/07/04
Dreamer's name: J
Dream: All I can remember that in my dream I woke up in the middle
of the night and I felt sick, so I ran to the toilet and threw up,
twice. My partner was at this stage at the toilet door and asked
if I was alright and I said it was nothing, however in the dream I
thought I was pregnant but didn't want to tell him yet because I
had no proof. I thought to myself I would wait until tomorrow to
see if I would throw up again. For a split second, I remember that
I went into our kitchen and my ex-boyfriends parents were there
telling me that my suspicions of being pregnant (to my current
fiancée) were correct and that I was expecting a baby. Then I was
handed a black little rabbit and they said that I had given birth
to it first and the baby would be coming in the expected time
frame (9 months). I cradled the bunny like it was my own child
trying to figure out for the first time how to hold the rabbit
like a baby over my should to burp it. I couldn't figure out why
it was a little difficult to do this (I saw the rabbit virtually
as a baby). I walked from the kitchen to the lounge room and on
the white carpet I saw all these bugs. I was scared and protected
my rabbit (baby) in my arms and shielded it from the bugs while
with the other hand I tried to kill the bugs. They were weird and
distorted but my brain was telling me they were spiders and grubs.
The next scene was when I entered the bedroom and put the bunny on
my bed to protect it from the bugs. I noticed that the covers were
pulled right back to expose the deep sky blue sheets underneath.
That's when I woke up to the alarm.
Dream comments: Please help me to unravel my dream. I have tried
using online dream sites but to me there is no clear story of what
I was feeling. Thank-you.
