As we all ready have seen, history likes to repeat its self, in many
occasions. In the present, i think that i am seeing another case, while
its being developed and it's about the warez stuff.

If you have read a document posted in NULL some issues ago, in the past
there was a whole network of people, who were sharing warez stuff.
Courriers, crackers, groups, boards with warez etc. Also not everybody
had access to those files/warez and that was a very serious matter!

Users didn't have free access to warez files and only those who were
trusted could get them. So there was a "circle of trust" between, users
and sysops, sysops and groups etc.

Fast forward some years and the torrent technology and community
appeared (and also BBSes almost extinct :) ). With torrents, everyone
could download anything, by just installing a program. Cool! But the
result was that, there was no need for a "circle of trust". Anyone could
download files. Also there was no more need for groups that were pushing
"the stuff" in the market/scene. Sure there is a small part, which gets
the files, but after uploading them once, then everyone can get them. So,
a big part of the "warez industry" vanished and only the small, that's
100% vital, remained.

What all of these have to do with the present? Well... you'll tell me...
i am only going to describe the situation and the facts.

Today, everybody can see that users turn to VPN services! And the main
reason is to watch movies and get files. So we can all admit, that there
is a "trust issue" between the users and the ISPs, but also between the
users the ISPs and the goverments! People think that they can't download
freely the files they want, anymore.

And they do believe that, because governments and agencies have taken
measures against piracy. Which is the other big matter today. Companies,
agencies, govs. are not sitting anymore, just watching... they do take
actions and in the future they will be more "mean" with those that do
piracy.

Also, many corporations, ISPs, schools etc. they do have an opinion on
the matter, which is no tollerance at all. So they close ports and
connections to any service, that is not needed for them, at all. They
only leave open access to WWW.

What if in the near future, your ISP will block torrent downloading? How
people will get warez then? Well... the solution would be to return back
to the old fashion style ;) which is... BBSes... ok... not just BBSes,
forums could also be a solution... but still the thing will return to the
old "circle of trust" solution, with users sharing files, in localized
systems.

I have seen many forums, in the past, that there were sharing movies etc.
that because they didn't keep the rule of the "circle of trust", they
were shutdown. Also to build a forum, it's much harder than to just
install a BBS, honestly. You can't host a forum, in an RPi, with 8GB
cards. And because forums are in the WWW, they are been accessed more
heavily, which this leads to more bandwidth, more space, more money...
and where you will get the money? ads... so then you search for ads/money
and so on... it's too complicated this way!

With a BBS, you can just launch a system in a board as simple as the RPi,
use a service like NO-IP for a domain name... and presto! You are done!
Also it would be best, not to have all files in one place, but to
dispurse them in various systems. This way, even if one board goes down,
others will be still open.

For sure the whole thing depends on the "COT" thing... with out it, you
can't do much and even in the past, mistakes have been made and boards
were closed down. But from my point of view... things will get more ugly
as time passes. We can clearly see a "witch hunt" for torrent sites and
not just the sites, but also downloaders/users too.

I don't care if you think that piracy is a wrong thing to do. In my mind
it's good and also a way to remind to big corps. that people are not just
a big wallet... i am not going to give excuses for piracy in this post,
cause it's a whole other subject and too big. But i really think that in
the future, we may use more and more, BBSes to exchange stuff, that
otherwise we wouldn't be able and without even noticing... it will just
happen. I all ready see some boards that offer warez stuff and for me and
you, that we still use BBSes, it's just another "weapon" in our "arsenal"
against capitalism... viva la revolution... hahahahaha :)

didn't i say that this issue will have too many "casa de papel"
references? hahahaaha :p~~~~
