Basic Ceiling
- (family) does not have a layered assembly and is represented in a section as a single line
- has material parameter (surface pattern in 3D and ceiling plan)
Compound Ceiling
- allows you to define a layered assembly of materials that are visible when displayed in a section view
- select and choose another type for ceiling
Both can serve as host to hosted family components
Ceilings serve also as bounding element for volumetric calculations of rooms
